Fuzz Are you on the Christmas thread? it really gets going in the late summer. Reastie posts all her links and it all kicks off.

I am very much "do what's best for you" at the mo because of a situation in my family and I am fucking furious about it. I have had all my suspicions confirmed.

will tot up later.

girliefriend · 31/07/2015 17:11

Collie my plan pre dd was to go to NZ I think it looks like an amazing country. Would not be practical/affordable now but maybe one day.....

Fluffy hope you are o.kay Flowers families can be a minefield at times.

Hmm today ended up more spendy than expected really, a friend text and asked if we fancied tennis this arvo so met them at the free courts but needed to buy a drink and ice creams (was mandatory obv Wink) I also had to pay for parking and I had a Greggs for lunch Blush was delish though! So am thinking that lot came to about £8.50 ish. Summer hols are so difficult to keep spending down!!

Today was going to be a lsp but parking at the hospital combined with lunch at ikea to deal with the bad news meant I've spent £15 in a flash. Hospital parking is costing us a fortunate at the moment with antenatal, cardiac for DH and clinics for DS we are there twice a week. Wish we lived in Wales Wink

SeasideSunshine · 31/07/2015 17:44

Goodness! I was wondering if the August thread would start today or tomorrow and you're all well away! Grin

I'd like to join please. I need to stay on the straight and narrow. Loads of expenses coming up (all my appliances are starting to look dodgy and I think I'll be needing to replace things soon!). I've started researching now, so I'm not caught on the hop.

Off to read back to catch up.

ItsAll · 31/07/2015 18:23

I've had a NSD Smile.

collie, we've seriously considered emigrating to NZ twice. It's an amazingly beautiful country. At the moment, we're still here - NZ is an expensive place to live in terms of buying things, eating out, healthcare, property etc., but I think we'll probably consider it again at some point in the future.

peppapissinpig · 31/07/2015 18:45

Been away with DC staying at friends for last 4 days; just got home. Managed to spend a very frugal sum of £35 as my friends are so lovely and generous. Lots of meals out and fun activities for the DC.

Only wish DH had managed to be just as frugal. Just checked bank account and appears that for each of those 3 nights he withdrew £15 for wine and fish & chips because he was "too tired" couldn't be arsed to cook ????

Binglet · 31/07/2015 19:00

Hi! Can I join! I was around a few months ago but dropped of the frugal wagon ????

We have about £4000 on CC which I am determined to clear, and live more frugally. I've just gone back to full time after a year of part time after having DD. So want to use extra money earnt to help. Starting on a bit of a crap month. Had to save £100 to pay for holiday in Cornwall in September (a friend of my DMs caravan for the week). Asda shop came yesterday (£58) and that has St ocked cupboards and freezer hopefully for most of the month. Just weekly tops ups in between.

We have £114 to last us the month in the food budget but this should be doable. I hope (we have a seperate account for bills and another for the food budget - so no worring about them).

I however am broke, got about £60 to last month which includes two birthdays and a night out with friends arranged months ago.

Been lurking for a long while! You ladies always keep me entertained. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2015 19:14

Welcome Binglet. Are you using the standing order trick on the cc or direct debit?.

Right.

£10 for an led 12v transformer so I can put led bulbs in the kitchen table light. I just need to persuade dh to fit it because the light fitting was a bastard to put up. I've lost my wedding ring so am not popular tonight. I might have to leave it for a bit before mentioning it.

£31.83 in aldi but £1.85 non food (cider and fab soft. 85p for cider Shock)
£5 in butcher on naice sausages and burgers.
£3.80 in homebargains on hair removing cream, ranitidine tablets, knock off berocca and a jar of dolmio.

£35 full tank of petrol
£1.99 card from card factory.
£1 for a latte glass in poundland.

girlie I'm fine, it's other people not growing the fuck up and being batshit. I predicted this would happen. I don't want to see a genuinely nice person being taken advantage of.

Our local homebargains has a chilled and freezer section now!.

AdoraBell · 31/07/2015 19:21

collie my PILs don't approve of us not living next door in Kent, but they survived us living abroad.

is there not a genérico versión you could buy?

Fluffy hope the family sitúation works out.

Welcome Binglet do you have To buy birthday presents? Could it be something homemade, or a box of chocs?

Spendy day here, but it was needed and planned for. New knives, didn't bother packing the ones from Chile as the maids we had there damaged the handles To the extent that they are dangerous. We went To an outlet centre so got an 8 piece set with a 25 yr garauntee, and a wooden block for just under £140. Úntil now I've been using plástico cutlery for all food prep and so spending a small fortuna on Chicken breast fillets and ready chopped "stir-fry" type foodsHmm

Other than that I Spent £3 on Boots cleanser for DD1, £4.50 ish on Tea Tree oil, £4.40 on far too much chocolate and DD2 spent £8 of pocket money.

Haven't ordered a grocery shop for next week as ILs are in the área on holiday. As yet I have no idea where we'll be, what they'll expect want To do or where we'll eat.

AdoraBell · 31/07/2015 19:22

I forgot, DH also Spent £210 in B&Q.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/07/2015 19:24

Adora Grin

Whatabout · 31/07/2015 19:25

One of the things I'm looking forward to about maternity leave is going to Aldi / lidl/ home bargains / pound land to get bargains. I've never been to home bargains so I'm intrigued to find out what sort of stuff I can get in there.

I'm slowly beginning to buy down on cleaning products, they cost a small fortune and I'm sure they are all very similar.

AdoraBell · 31/07/2015 19:27

Oh no Fluffy, proper lost or do you think it might be at home somewhere?

DH also Spent a fiver having my earing fixed. He bought them the day we travelled and 3 days later they came apartAngry

I think that's everything now.

fluffy I over pay. I pay whatever we can afford on pay day directly but always make sure I at least try and double the minimum payment. It's making a slight dent this way. DP had a massive motorbike accident last year, insurance claim still pending so I'm praying that domes through and as long as we can pay off CC (which were maxed when he was in hospital/off sick on SMP) I'm happy. Just don't know when that will be.

We borrowed £1300 from my dad in Novemebr and have £450 left to pay but have £150 in savings to pay over and I am owed £200 from a security deposit from friends hen party booking. So hopefully that will be clear very soon.

adora sadly I do have to get gifts. One is DStepF and its his 50th. Going joint with DSis and DBro though so this should help. Other is a dear friends DD who is always mega generous to me and DD and has been such a fantastic friend. I can crochet however so might try and make a gift that way.

peppapissinpig · 31/07/2015 19:49

Collie I live next door to my PIL - a whole other thread ConfusedAngry

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2015 19:53

I suspect ring is properly lost. But in the house. Somewhere

On the upside I've found 3 million earplugs under the bed so I dont need to buy more and I've found the box the frigging ring came in. Plus my hugh f-w veg cookbook.

collie family problems are indeed shit. Why cant people just be fucking normal? why?.

What You will love homebargains.

Binglet good. At least you will be chipping away at it.

NK5BM3 · 31/07/2015 21:00

Ipsos - thanks for the advice! :) can't believe it but dh actually got his act together and got hold of an IT guy who will run his domain for him etc (a friend who we pay to do IT maintenance for us) and rang the other chap and told him we were ending the deal. Shock So sounds like it's all going to be ok now.

Paid £2 for bus fare into town. Drs app for ds. £23 for lunch. Bought a few things in boots but it was free as redeemed my points (2 dresses for dd, some snack), £2 for cherries. £14 at Sainsburys for the fluerie and some cards.

Ohhelp, I think you should pay it off your credit card Smile.

NK5BM3 · 31/07/2015 21:28

Oh fluffy do you know where you might have left it? Or at least trace back some steps? Dh lost his wallet once and didn't realised it till 4 or so days later! He checked at home, then checked at work and then at home again. Finally tried to think back to the last time he used his wallet and turns out it was at a pub. He rang them and they said 'hello nkhusband, we'd been waiting for your call!!!'

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/07/2015 21:28

I have JUST found it as you wrote that! phew!.

Be sensible and put it on a cc. You will feel better when the cc is paid off. It will be £9.50 you don't have to pay interest on anymore. The kids wont know any different.
