Peppa here I'll use them to attach the activity to the day so we can move them around depending on the weather etc. I'll post a pic once I've got them all up. I've written EVERYTHING on little cards for example:
Library
Go to garden centre
Films with popcorn
Visit nanny and gramps
Go to London
'Surprise!' (Legoland)

Also dh just told me he's got £200 for me to use in the holidays Grin I expect London will cost half that though.

Thanks folks, yes DH had just been looking at big companies but a local florist is much better :) and thanks for the kind words too. DH is struggling a bit not just because of obviously losing his grandmother but it's also bringing up a lot of nasty stuff from the past due to family conflict.

girliefriend · 18/07/2015 18:28

Fluffy I reckon it took her less than 4 hours - I was seriously impressed!!

So £15 today on dds horse riding lesson but no other spends, had a lovely walk round local nature reserve this afternoon, spotted lots of wildlife Smile

Am thinking about booking a hotel close to Weymouth for a short break over my annual leave, is anyone local to Weymouth - is it nice? I was looking at a hotel that is in Portland which I think is close by? Any tips appreciated Grin

girliefriend · 18/07/2015 18:51

Yes dd loves lego, she was a little bit put out that this kit didn't come with any figures but she found a lego lady to fly it in the end (I told her it had to be a female pilot Wink)

Right am hoping Portland is nice as have just booked me and dd a 2 night stay there Grin a very basic hotel £52 a night but am sure will be fine for us

Passthecake30 · 18/07/2015 19:29

I know what everyone means about cold rented houses, the two we rented had very little loft lagging, old double glazing with most of the windows blown, draughty frames and doors and in one only 3 storage rads worked in the whole house. The only reason I'm so hardy now is the years spent freezing in those houses.

Ohhelp I hope you two get on better tomorrow.

£45 food shop. Summer is more expensive than winter. Cant batch cook a salad.

£105 blinds for the lounge.
£42 new socket covers and light switches for the lounge
£15 on a bin that fits in a cupboard. Not paying for that until tomorrow though.

Sunday should be a nsd.

Love the idea of batch cooking salad! :o

On a more practical note though I'm very pleased to read about freezing sandwiches. I was wondering about this because now we seem to be out and about a fair bit and a lot of the home ed activities are around lunchtime - I've already lost count of the times we've ended up grabbing happy meals and stuff like that on the way home because I wasn't organised enough to make sandwiches, or even to have the right stuff in the house. Blush Having a load of cheese sandwiches in freezer bags would be really helpful!

I did see a little weekly planner notebook thing in the Works today, it had tear-off sheets divided into 7 days, plus a separate notebook bit and post-its. I discounted it because I am particularly looking for a proper diary (an academic year one, week to view, if anyone has seen any decent ones? :o) but actually I might get this too as for £3 it would be perfect to meal plan each week and keep the shopping lists etc in one place.

July 19th already Shock, How did that happenConfused, oh Yeah, we moved.

Last couple of weeks have been scaryspensive so I'm going To start again next week if that's okay

SpottyTeacakes · 19/07/2015 06:50

Welcome back adora!

Need to go to tesco to get the things I forgot in the shopping; bread; bin liners; cereal.

Pointlessfan · 19/07/2015 06:53

Girlie it's great round there, loads to do. Would def recommend fossil hunting in Charmouth. Also worth a short drive to see Durdle Door, the most beautiful rock arch and a lovely beach.
I love the idea of a holiday planner - storing that one away for when DD is bigger!
We're off camping on Thursday and just remembered we still haven't replaced our broken camping stove so my first holiday activity might involve going to Go Outdoors. DD loves going in all the tents so she'd probably think that was a great day out!

Yes lettuce is really easy to grow. We also sometimes cook a load of roasted veg on Sunday and have it for tea with cous cous and halloumi or gets then use leftovers throughout the week for pasta, sandwiches, frittata etc so that's sort of like a batch cooked salad!

Pointlessfan · 19/07/2015 06:58

Or feta, not gets!

babsmam · 19/07/2015 07:05

I agree summer food is more expensive. I feel a trip to the pyo coming on if it stops raining this afternoon. Lsd today promised DS a trip to the indoor skate park which is about a fiver for two hours play.

Unescorted · 19/07/2015 07:05

This month has skipped by. Not been around much - busy at work and patchy internet (none last weekend).

I managed to get to the end of the month without coppering up, which is a first I think. We get paid 15th to 15th in case you all think I am reporting very old news. So as the first weekend after payday today is SHOP day. I hate doing it.... The worst bit is I will ask tha assembled lounge lizards what they want to eat and they will all look at me as if I have gone bonkers. When I get bak they will rootle throught the bags complaining that I didn't get the must eat now snack that I should have known that were going to think they wanted on my return. If I was that good at predicting the future I would start playing the lottery.

I would add herbs to the easy to grow expensive to buy list.
