I've had a good day, I've not spent any money. In fact I've earned some more. :)
Tomorrow will be a different day.

Does anyone else get very tired, being so mindful of money?

Where in Wales, Collie? I would highly recommended a site called Methyr Farm it is high above Harlech beach/castle and has the most amazing views. On phone so can't link to website but you'll find it easily enough on Google.
Is it really that close to Xmas? Downside of new, more efficient car is that I won't have enough Nectar points to pay for the Xmas food shop - I just don't buy petrol as often!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/06/2015 22:06

I don't know, we don't have children so you don't get to know these places. Probably not far though.

Hilton used to do packages for legoland.

girliefriend · 24/06/2015 22:11

I do Evil I would like to be able to buy myself something and not have to justify or feel guilty about it!!

NSD

I refuse to think about Christmas yet. Far too mucho going on before then. I might start after we've moved, but I'm not promising.

girlie yes, fully justifiable, go and enjoy it.

Oh yes Evil, you are defo not alone in that.

Passthecake30 · 24/06/2015 22:45

£35 on an eye test as my eyes were blury. Turns out just fine and I need lubricating drops as they are just dry Blush. £6 drops...

£1.80 lunch. Just thinking about sept and back to school. Will be spendy and they're only in primary school! Ds is moving from infants to juniors and it's a different name so needs all new stuff. Owch.

NK5BM3 · 24/06/2015 23:11

Hi all,
Thanks for thinking of me and your well wishes! Today went really well. No hiccups, and the panel commented that our documentation was one of the best they'd ever seen - they didn't have to come out and ask for more stuff! Down to my v competent administrator though. But it's all good stuff - reflects well on me and the rest of the programme.

Tomorrow will be the Big Crunch time.where they will be asking the 'difficult' questions, hopefully we will have all the answers. Fingers tightly crossed... Will report back tomorrow night. Eek!!

AuditAngel · 24/06/2015 23:11

I use my Tesco vouchers to buy Merlin passes. I need £250 to buy 5 passes (no child reductions), I currently have £216 in vouchers and the current balance is worth another £36, so we will be getting cards again this year.

We could use them more, but it's hard with DH working weekends. We went to Thorpe Park for DS's birthday, and to Chessington for DD2's.

Tomorrow DH and I are in London for afternoon tea and the theatre, may go to the London Eye?

I'd like to visit Madame Taussauds, never been.

AuditAngel · 24/06/2015 23:13

I forgot, DSIs and I went to Legoland too with DC, had to pay for her wouldn't have tried to sneak in using DH's pass, not us

Pointlessfan · 25/06/2015 07:30

Pleased it went well yesterday NK and hope today goes well too.

Peppapissinpig · 25/06/2015 07:31

We have a personal loan with our bank taken to buy a car 2 years ago.
There is approx £5k left to pay and we're paying £337 pm with 7% interest.

Am seriously thinking about transferring money from DCs accounts to clear the debt and pay money monthly back to them. This would save us about £250 in interest and the DCs wouldn't lose out.

Just feel a bit Hmm about taking money out of their accounts.

WWYD??

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/06/2015 08:31

I'd do it but not tell anyone. You can set up a standing order to come out the day after payday.

lilacclery · 25/06/2015 08:35

I did this peppa or similar last Nov, needed to buy an extra vehicle so au pair would have dhs car took €1300 from children's accounts & will start repaying towards end of this year. They don't seem to be missing the money at all! A wise lady working behind the counter at credit union told me, they wouldn't have those healthy balances had you not saved it for them & by the time they need it, it will be there for them.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2015 08:42

I would do it

So hot already Smile we're at outside playing. Spends today will be hospital parking and a KFC Grin

lilacclery · 25/06/2015 08:44

A friend just had a baby girl after two boys, I already have presents as I received a package in error in December & couldn't get the company to collect it for returns. In addition I purchased some lovely pink vests & an outfit for another friend who had a boy. This came to €42, I added a two pack of school trousers for dd & qualified for 20% discount so grand total €43.60 so dds school pants cost €0.80 each! Compared to the €10 one I must returns to dunnes for being- too small- just the right size right now.
If I don't like the trousers I'll return but discount will remain. Paid in full as the debt on my catalogue account is for dh's phone & our halo cooker & want to keep it clear otherwise

needastrongone · 25/06/2015 08:44

peppa Definitely do it, you are benefiting the DC in the long run. Perhaps you could put a little extra back in their accounts out of the savings if you feel bad?

Well done NK. Fingers crossed for today too.

pass Quite a lot for an eye test?

girlie Please do it. I have shellac on my nails (partly to cover the crap underneath with dogs, chickens and pony!). If I don't keep up with it, I feel far worse about myself. I am by no means a glamorous person, it just makes me feel a little better.

DD's birthday today. She's 14. It's mainly cash all round for her from everybody, as she's saving for a new riding hat.

I took the broken iron back to Curry's, walked out with a brand new one. The iron is the only thing I insure. Next time this one goes wrong (ooh, about a year's time) I will choose a more expensive one, pay the difference and get new insurance to cover another 3 years.

I made the foolish mistake of going into Sainsbury's, I wanted a couple of new bras. I spent £97. But for that I got: a new bra £5, 2 Gok Wan swing style vest t-shirts £14 each, a sale cotton strappy top £5, a Gok Wan strappy top (beautiful in bright yellow/white/navy) £16, a white broderie anglais top £16, a yellow cardigan £20 or thereabouts.

I feel like I got a lot for my money, and mostly versatile things so they will get worn.
