Collie it's also my DHs birthday in a few weeks. We always get so focused on DS' birthday (days later) that his tends to get overlooked.

Would love ideas on how to make it special but very cheap Wink for him.

needastrongone · 05/06/2015 09:22

Audit Well done to your daughter for getting the part, even if the ensuing costume requirements are a pita Smile

adora Sorry for the stress, I hope things resolve themselves Flowers

Today I need (in this order) to do my ironing, go to Aldi (we are out of sandwich and snack stuffs), take my friends daughter to her exam, walk dogs, garden, strip beds, make tea, drink wine Grin

And pop to see Dmil too, I haven't called in for a few days.

Urge stupid phone I lost yet another long message!

£75 today on a new windscreen after a stone cracked it on the motorway.

£40 approx will be on meat for dad's party, and another 110-120 or so on euros for his present for his holiday.

The gardener came and said he actually thought I'd been doing a good job with the front but the back needs a good tidy up, he looked round all the plants and suggested a few to transplant into the big rockery beds, which bits of trees to prune back, hedges to cut etc etc.... I braced myself for the quote to tidy it all up and then maintain it... £100!! And 15 every two weeks to maintain it. I nearly fainted with joy!! That doesn't cover new fencing etc obviously but he said he can do all that if we want - he actually examined a lot of the fence that I thought was rotting but no he said the fence was solid just needed a new gate which he will measure up for next time, and he would paint the rest for now. A frugal gardener I love it! I had suggested ripping everything out of the weedy rockery beds but he said replacing all that stone would be £ so he'd do his best to salvage them for me. So I'm happy with that, gonna treat myself one of those nice cuprinol colours for my salvaged fence, any suggestions? I'll put up a few pics when it's all done :)

blueteapot · 05/06/2015 10:15

Peppa would he like a little at home party maybe? Or a romantic meal without kids?

Those towels sound brill, I wonder would they do in OHs gym bag? He takes two large towels every day and I'm fed up washing and drying them!

Peppapissinpig · 05/06/2015 11:20

Collie - so how does the 'punch a present' thing work?

love it Collie!

needastrongone · 05/06/2015 15:23

blue Hooray for the frugal gardener, such a relief.

£60 in Aldi, of which £10 was socks and underwear and £6 salmon, a treat for tonight. I had a fruit and veg delivery so cupboards are full.

I also went to the farm shop, which I now go to once a month. I got 3 mahoosive chickens (REAL Mumnset chickens!!) for £12. A huge pork shoulder joint for £6. 2lb sausages and 1kg mince. Spent £30 in total but that's the meat for the month.

Audit I'm so pleased for her,,she looked lovely in the video you posted.

Blue At that price I bet he gets endless biscuits and a four pack on summer days Wink. Some of our neighbours have a pale sage green colour, it looks very classy.

Adora I just don't know what to say. Our house was us buying as ftb it's no chain off the builder and it still went tits and nearly fell through. It just never runs smoothly. I really hope you get to come back home. I think all of us would invite you round for coffee if we could.

£7 on to up shop in morrisons
£1 work stuff.

£75 compo cheque from Halifax for messing up a DD. The policy only cost £55. I will bank it and put it towards the water bill.

Peppapissinpig · 05/06/2015 17:00

Teapot - a big yes to a romantic meal sans DCs Wink

CremeEggThief · 05/06/2015 17:05

£40, on waxing, mani and pedi. Needed some me time, after spending the last few days sorting things out on the house front. My new carpets and vinyl were fitted in my new house yesterday and look fab.Smile

CremeEggThief · 05/06/2015 17:05

I'll read through later.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 05/06/2015 17:17

Sent bra back, that will be £29 back and sending TOMS back too as they are feckin tiny, I compared them to the ones I have and they've changed the sizes, the soles are much smaller than the ones I have even though they're labelled as the same size, ffs. Such a PITA.

NSD today, as postage was paid for bra return. Borrowed keys for our new (rented) house, we move on 7-8 July but we have got permission to go in and paint etc before hand.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/06/2015 17:18

Nsd.

Where are you collie? It's really warm here today.

My beasty dc didn't eat the lovely dinner I made Sad

babsmam · 05/06/2015 17:44

Well my £30 in morrisons was £54. £4 for beavers and that's it today. That's really good for the garden blue.

sportinguista · 05/06/2015 17:53

ooh blueteapot you're not near us are you? We need a new fence at the back so are looking for quotes? At those sort of prices I'd feed him unlimited tea and biccies!

LSD today as just a few bits. NSD yesterday as had a client in all day mostly.

Been really weird sort of week, pretty busy workwise, which is always good. My latest client turned out to be a titled lady and rocked up in a Lambourghini, which in our area stood out more than a little, the neighbours most likely thought we had formed our own drug cartel! Still I guess I know she most likely will pay me!!

Lovely weather but of course it decided to look like thunder as soon as we decided on barbecue. It has now decided to finally do it. Well maybe tomorrow!

blueteapot · 05/06/2015 18:17

Sporting we are in northern Ireland if that helps! I was amazed at the quote - I could have hugged him (but refrained lol).

Spotty Ds very rarely eats my dinners but I am assured by OH that they are yum lol.

Boo at the shoes miss A they're one thing I wouldn't but online because of the sizing issue (esp as my feet grew a size in pregnancy lol!).

Enjoy your new flooring creme :)

fluffy I like the sage idea! Might encourage the dodgier bits of fence toward the top bit of the garden to blend on in lol ;)

Mrs Devere I restart with good intentions about once a week!

need I LOVE the farm shop butchers. Well done on your haul :)

we have seen a car we like! It's in the zero tax, 70 mpg club and should pay for itself hopefully. I applied for the loan this evening. We applied for 7500 which has a very good rate, so there will be a little left over to sort... my kitchen!!! Yay! (I will try to stretch it to finish the whole house, would be lovely to feel finished!)

Anyone bought a kitchen? :/

Peppapissinpig · 05/06/2015 18:44

Today £32 in Tesco. For that I got 3 mini beef roasts (reduced) a marinaded half chicken, 4 bottles of Dove shower gel (less than half price) bag of salad and ham for lunch, some cream cheese, sausage rolls for lunch on Sunday (if they last that long).

Also £8 buying a bottle of Sun in from Amazon to put some highlights into DD2's hair for her Abba role!

The costumes won't be too much of a PITA, but I'll have to pay for them. At least DD1 will not need anything new.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/06/2015 19:40

Collie Clean them up and sell them on ebay. Used shoes go well on there.

I sold some fugly Musto shoes for about £10 less than I paid for them.

Passthecake30 · 05/06/2015 20:57

Apart from childcare, a NSD. Go me!

Had a tesco delivery last night, £50, they seduced me away from asda with a £12 off voucher.
