Village fete today. Dh has given me £20. Food shopping coming this morning too.

TheseSoles · 06/06/2015 09:18

Washing machine is broken. Obviously. Luckily I know it's a piece of shit so it's insured! Hope we can get someone out soon, last time it took more than a week!!

AuditAngel · 06/06/2015 09:25

These I'm feeling your pain. I'm struggling to get motivated to choose a new fridge or fridge/freezer.

The kids want to go to the carnival where my mum life's, I'm not keen as I'll be spending money on junk.

Need to sort out ds's clothes for his residential trip next week.

Pointlessfan · 06/06/2015 09:44

Aaggh! Complete frugal fail yesterday! I started well, got 2 books from the library and some flip flops from the 99p shop to wear for showers when camping. Then spent £58 in Asda which was more than usual but not a disaster but then I went to a fashion show at a local shop and ended up spending 90 quid on a dress, a cardie and some sunglasses. Luckily the 2 dresses I bought online last week looked vile on so I'd returned them. I love the sunglasses and cardie but am in 2 minds about the dress. It looks great but I'm not sure when I'll wear it.
Today should be NSD.

girliefriend · 06/06/2015 09:53

Hi all not had chance to catch up properly with thread as been a busy few days, hope you are all o.kay.

Yesterday was a NSD other than childcare £14 (which in theory is budgeted for!) My friend came for tea but bought pizzas with her which was nice. Just remembered I must pay the childminder as well, thats £40 ish will write her a cheque later.

Going to go to Morrisons in a bit, was having a minor dilemma about where to do my shop for the week, would like it to be Lidls but need quite a few bits that I can't get there so think will have to be Morrisons.

Got dds horse riding lesson later which my mum is kindly paying for and a family bbq which I will pick up some bits for when I do my shop.

Gorgeous weather here today Smile

I just got a £20 gift voucher from the garden centre I ate at. They said they have no reason to believe that it was food poisoning as no other complaints but gave it as a good will gesture. I suppose it's possible that it just didn't agree with me so I appreciate their response. I felt ill for 12 hours after eating it though with hit and cold sweats etc Confused

TheseSoles · 06/06/2015 10:14

Denial seems to be the thing with food poisoning Spotty, I was at a wedding where almost every guest came down with food poisoning during the evening and the venue insisted it was norovirus! Public health weren't convinced! Hope you're feeling much better now.

Just rang insurers and they are sending someone round on Monday to see if washing machine can be fixed. If not they will replace for free. Might need to grab a few extra tops for the baby to get us through (there's no laundrete in our town) but fingers crossed no other costs.

TheseSoles · 06/06/2015 10:28

While I am looking at paperwork I still haven't received my renewal pack for CTC - you're supposed to ring if they haven't arrived by 30 June apparently.

Not helpful though, because we're currently not receiving any and I know there isn't any point in ringing to chase until the pack is here.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/06/2015 10:46

We haven't received ours either Angry why don't they send them out in March so everyone has them ready at the end of the tax year?!

SpottyTeacakes · 06/06/2015 11:14

£57.61 food delivery including nappies....what have I forgotten?!

Spent £53 in Morrisons, annoying as much more than I wanted to spend but had I got it over £60 I would have had £5 off!!Oh well have restocked fridge and freezer and will be shopping in Lidls until payday now!!

That also included food for the bbq this afternoon and ingredients for a pudding I am making for when we go to a friends house on Monday.

Have ordered a new fridge. A big larder one instead of a fridge freezer, £299 from John Lewis, plus £9 to take the old one away. It's in the Which Best Buy table, only 5th, but half the price of the better ones. Another Zanussi (my 3rd I.e. All of them have been). Free express delivery so it will come on Tuesday.

We will see how we get on with it, if we need more freezer space (rather than nicking space in the rig food freezer) we may replace the really ancient fridge freezer that we use as an overflow for milk, bread, etc with a small freezer. With the extra space in the new fridge, we may not need the overflow.

CremeEggThief · 06/06/2015 15:31

19p on a small baguette from Lovely Lidl!

SpottyTeacakes · 06/06/2015 15:49

I spent £2.40 at the fête! Bil treated us to everything else Smile

Peppapissinpig · 06/06/2015 15:54

Conned into spending £5.50 on 2 very average hotdogs at school fete Confused

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2015 16:17

£8 tescos
£3 antibiotics
£6 mcdonalds

Dh has had part of his tooth out, because they didn't get it all out they didnt charge him but he has to attend the hospital on Monday for it.

He doesn't like me right now. I am not popular Grin

I'm going to find a regular dentist and make him come for check ups, scale and polishes and hygienist appt with me.

I'm taking my microwave back later, it seems to be the week for appliances breaking down.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/06/2015 16:20

£3 antibiotics?! Where did you get them from?! Grin my NHS does scale and polish included in my usual check up price. I hate the dentist but it's one of those things you just have to do...

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2015 16:24

Private prescription off the dentist, that was £10 but dh paid.

Antibiotics are very cheap drugs in the main.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/06/2015 16:27

Ah I didn't consider private prescription. Yes swings and roundabouts on medication costs when it's private. Hope your dh feels better after his tooth's out Smile
