Spendy day but it's ok as we're well within budget this week.
£49 in lidl-food to last until next Friday.
£5-Tesco, the few bits I couldn't get in lidl.
£41.99-new rug for pony (40% off as shop is closing down so bargain!)

Don't think I've spent anything else today and I'm aiming for a low spend weekend!!

Iamnotanugget · 16/01/2015 18:41

Flowers NK

£17.82 in Boots sale but that's 3 presents for later on in the year sorted. Hoping for a fairly cheap weekend. We're taking dc out but using our annual pass. They've been told to bring their pocket money so that should limit the near constant requests for stuff.

Pointlessfan · 16/01/2015 18:41

I've spent 57p today on some onions. I'm using them to make loads of curry with things we already had eg. Spinach and chickpeas, Xmas turkey from freezer. Some is for tonight, the rest is for the freezer (not the turkey, I'm sure DH doesn't want food poisoning if we refreeze and reheat!).
I only spent £1 yesterday on play group so this has been a really good, low spend week, hooray!

needastrongone · 16/01/2015 19:30

hetty - I am a bit of a rug fiend for the pony, it's hard to stop myself sometimes, she's not even a rug trasher!!

Laska42 · 16/01/2015 19:35

No time to read as weekend starting with a bang.. ll be back sunday

but Yes fuzzpig tortilla uses raw potatoes... you cook v slowly in the oil , you dont want chips just tender pots and onions cooked in oil.

A quick update on another LSD
£2,69 co op milk and newspaper
£ 3.81 in local 'penny lane' discount store, ( this sells discounted waitrose stuff near date )
£2 1 doz eggs from bloke at work who has free range organic chickens

NK5BM3 · 16/01/2015 19:38

Thanks everyone again...

I think the point is, we need to live life to its fullest. He was an extremely good colleague in every way. Highly intelligent, very helpful and kind.

I'll be doing some shopping tomorrow. Aldi. And possibly some small thing for ds' friend birthday next weekend. Still haven't booked bowling. Doh.

babsmam · 16/01/2015 20:24

lilacclery · 16/01/2015 20:41

Passthecake30 · 16/01/2015 21:10

Oh and I have the orchard fish vouchers. Do I have to give away the friends ones or can I use them? And can I use them at the same time? ?

Zazzabeans · 16/01/2015 21:15

Happyhetty · 16/01/2015 21:18

Needastrongone- my big ones most definitely a rug trasher!! 3rd rug this winter so far so this time he has a cheapy weatherbeeta medium weight. He's a bit a of a bully in the field and often gets into rug biting scraps!

I'm hoping to do some serious saving this year so I'm going to start keeping a log of my spending.
As a single parent and full time student its tough to save but due to 3 months work placement (full time- unpaid) staring in a weeks time I wont have travel costs (80 euro per week) so it should be easier.
I also have a credit card id like to pay off before summer

Encyclo · 16/01/2015 22:22

lila I used my fiver voucher in Dunnes this evening and got another one for the next time. It's a great deal isn't it?

Ended up spending €24 (29 with money off voucher), stocking up on cleaning products, toothpaste, shampoo etc. Got soda crystals too, can't wait to try the laundry gloop!

MissMysticFalls · 16/01/2015 22:22

Sorry you had such a horrid shock NK Flowers

So, this seems really mundane by comparison - the recipe I shared for hummous earlier, I made, without tahini, thanks Robin and Flowers for you too (so many people having a tough time or sad and shocking news at the moment it seems). It was really spicy, made loads and without the tahini was fine and cheaper. But as suspected DP was unable to come back from the shop with just the two items requested - a watermelon and some seafood sticks found their way into the shopping basket too! Must never let him do the shopping when he has a hangover...

Encyclo · 16/01/2015 22:24

Ps: Welcome Zazza :)

Zazzabeans · 16/01/2015 22:34

hey and thanks :)
my aim is to withdraw £70 a week from the cashpoint and that is it. this will be for day to day living and will not include main food shop and petrol.
Also dh receives £20 a week for giving lifts to work but that goes towards my weekly driving lesson.
so say £90 a week minus driving lesson £30 will leave me with £60.
my main spends atm are travel to and from work when I cant get a lift .
next week im sorted for lifts apart from 1 journey which will cost £5.40.
Also food topups through the week, , I seem to nip in for loaf of bread and spend £30 Hmm This definetly needs to stop because im way over budget for food.
Also aim to take food to worn next week, im on 2x 12 hour shifts so will be both lunch and tea.
think that's the majority of stuff covered :)

vinegarandbrownpaper · 16/01/2015 22:42

Gloop sounds fab and interesting experiment! Smile How much do you use per wash? surely not 7l??!

Encyclo · 17/01/2015 00:16

I agree vinegar I'm off to buy a big bucket with a lid tomorrow, then I'm making it. My sis is in hysterics and reckons we'll all smell like wee by the end of the month Grin
