What are your hearing about vaccine side effects? Have done a quick Google sounds as if worse with Moderna than Pfizer, but Moderna more effective?

Gosh - I seem to have typed it all into the title!! What have you heard?

I've reacted badly to some vaccines in the past and not at all once, so Im keen to find one that has less side effects.

But I'm a bit concerned if it is less effective!!

Also not sure about availability - as if it is Pfizer, it seems to be in shorter supply??

And you do??🤣

I trusted the experts until I had an adverse reaction to my 2nd vax.
I'm now severely disabled, and have had enough medical appointments to see that there has been a huge cover up.

If anyone else is suffering, feel free to PM me and I can give you the details of a support group.

And no I'm not an anti-vaxxer or conspiracy theorist. Quite the opposite!

You wouldn't necessarily know if you or your DH has had it. Many people have had an asymptomatic case

I am offered the Covid vaccine as i have a lung condition. I’ve had colds a few times in the last few years and have tested for Covid and they were negative, but you are quite correct that we could both have had it with absolutely zero symptoms

Bit like inviting Jessica Fletcher to your house for the weekend...

I'm amazed anyone wanted to spend any time with her given the body count!

Or travelling to Midsomer!

amazing that comments criticising this substance and pointing out the huge numbers of injuries are still being deleted on here. ( awaits the deletion....)

There's vaccine damaged and vaccine longhauler subreddits on reddit

This year’s Modena was a bastard.

10 days of vomiting and aching - wincing at every movement - and a pumpkin of a lump 🎃 that lasted a fortnight.

Seasonal, yes, but still hurts.

Meadowfinch · 20/11/2024 18:29

I've had two bad reactions, one to my second Astra Zeneca and once to the Moderna vaccine. One needing an ambulance and one leaving me very poorly for a week.

I have declined any further covid vaccines, and caught it for the first time in September '24. It took me a while to get over but now I'm better and hopefully my antibodies are all nicely topped up. 😊

chattyness · 20/11/2024 18:54

I had the moderna spikevax about 3 weeks ago there wasn't a choice that was what they had so it was that or nothing. Previous vacs have been either been astra zeneca or cominarty & had no side effects with any of those just sore arm for a day or so, but not even that last year.
Anyway this year I was offered moderna spikevax & the flu jab at same time as usual but in other arm. I didn't feel either jab when she did them, I walked home and felt fine, but then about three hours later I was like a zombie with severe pain all over my body. I felt really horrible.
The arm with the covid jab had a tiny bruise no pain. The arm I'd had the flu jab in had just a wee bruise at the injection site, but about an inch below that I had a huge, hot red blotch right across & it was rock solid, very painful indeed. I didn't sleep that night or the next day, I just lay in bed in a painful haze that I couldn't escape from.I was very dizzy ,had hot and cold sweats & I felt sick as well. I took paracetamol, they were no relief, tried ibuprofen, no relief from them either. I eventually conked out through sheer exhaustion and the next day after that I felt fine in myself, pretty much back to normal, it was just my flu jab arm that was still sore and it took a week for the swelling and blotch to go away. I've never had a reaction before, but I think it definitely the flu jab that did it this time.

To lessen becoming seriously ill with Covid. The latest variant is particularly unpleasant.

@chattyness
That would put me off having the two together as if you do have a reaction, you wouldn't know which one had caused it.

It's the third time I've had both together , I really think the side effects were coming from the flu jab though because that's where the all the swelling was & where all the pain was radiating from, there was no pain on the covid side at all

Honestly why would you put yourself through that? It sounds awful. Its worse than the covid which you will probably still get anyway.

MyOtherNameToday · 22/11/2024 11:21

Just to update I had Pfizer and flu jab in the same arm yesterday. No problems whatsoever.

Pfizer is fine for me, Moderna was painful AND I caught Covid 6 weeks later. If they only had Moderna I wouldn't have taken it.

mitogoshigg · 22/11/2024 11:28

I had flu in one arm, Moderna spike vax in the other, no side effects except was a bit tired however I also had flown long haul the day before so can't exactly blame the vaccine! (Also I might have had dengue fever too, mild case)
