Anyone else considering not having this booster?

So 4th? one.

Just wondering really as I’m not sure how I feel about it. It seems like a lot to be pumping into my body in a short space of time.
I had Covid booster plus flu jab last year. DH didn’t have flu jab or a booster last time.
DS has never had any

I take everything that's going. Better safe than sorry.

TimBoothseyes · 08/11/2022 13:08

I won't be having the booster. With each of the 3 previous ones the reaction got steadily worse, to the extent that the 3rd one floored me for 4 days. I have been in close contact since March 2020 with people who have had covid and I've still not had it. It's my choice and I'm happy with it.

BeethovenNinth · 08/11/2022 17:36

Absolutely not. I’m very worried about covid generally for the vulnerable. It hasn’t gone. Neither has flu! I don’t deny anything.

but personally there are many unanswered questions especially over risk/benefit and I remain furious that anyone was forced to have it. Furious. I can’t list people I know affected by it not least as it’s anecdotal but I am aghast we rolled it out to young women for example, without the full risk benefit analysis. Totally unnecessary.

I'm not having any more had visual issues since my booster in Jan and issues with heart racing. Wish I'd not had it

Eightiesgirl · 09/11/2022 09:50

@Kittycatkitty can you please tell me what visual issues you've had. I hope you don't mind, it's just that I've had a racing heart and problems with my vision too. I ended up having a ct head scan which was normal and doctors still don't know what's wrong with me. I never connected it to the vaccination before but now you've made me wonder.

Hi, I'm sorry you have had these issues.

So mine , within 3 days of having the booster I had an occular migraine, thought I was having a stroke, never had one before and they are awful. Zig zagging in vision, feeling out of sorts
I also woke up the same night with racing heart beat. Had ECG all fine

Since then I've had 4 further visual migraine attacks with zig zag in my vision and also had issues with my right eyesight declining more

Eightiesgirl · 09/11/2022 11:14

@Kittycatkitty thanks so much for the reply. So sorry to hear that you have had all this trouble. I, too, had never had vision problems or migraines ever before in my life.

It's awful isn't it
I'm not an anti vaxxer at all but I won't be having any more now.

vera99 · 10/11/2022 11:00

I'm 62 in good health had 3 vaxes very willingly got Covid in June which was no big deal in the scheme of things and had my 4th booster yesterday. My arm has hurt all night and I feel meh and under par. Wish I hadn't had it now.

spuddel · 10/11/2022 19:00

I've not had any covid vaccines. Had Delta last year and Omicron last month. Neither was a big deal for me thankfully. I won't be having a flu vaccine either.

PupInAPram · 10/11/2022 19:11

I had both covid and flu jabs over half term. Feel a bit more relaxed going into the winter now.

vera99 · 10/11/2022 19:14

Feeling a lot better now so 30 hours of feeling a bit shit and a restless night seems to be the long and short of it.

User438651209 · 11/11/2022 19:13

I have had the three Covid vaccines but won't be having the 4th, I had Covid a couple of weeks ago anyway and it was a fluey cold which lasted about 5-6 days, I felt worse with the side effects of the vaccines especially the Moderna booster which I had last December

TurquoiseBeach · 11/11/2022 20:31

Concerned whether it may negatively impact my LC. Given that there is something clearly 'wrong' inside me at the moment, on balance I'm going to have it as may not find the acute covid phase so manageable next time. Research shows cumulative damage from infections.

MichaelFabricantWig · 11/11/2022 21:23

I had the moderna bivalent last week. No side effects at all. But then I expect with 2 AZ, a Pfizer, Covid and now this my body is well used to producing antibodies

KateMcCallister · 11/11/2022 22:26

Eligible for a booster (underlying health condition) but after 3 jabs and covid which I wouldn't have known I had apart from testing, I'm not getting another jab. It absolutely fucked my periods, made me feel like I was seriously ill each jab and despite working on the front line I've had covid once in 2+ years.

The risk outweighs the benefit for me.

Other people are quite entitled to do as they please though and I don't care if someone's had no jabs or 6. Personal choice.

User438651209 · 11/11/2022 22:43

I think you just have to make a decision yourself if you want to have the jab each year, bit like the flu jab really

I've had covid twice, first time I only found out from a test 2nd time was awful and 9 months later I still have some LC issues but strangely my recovery seems to have speeded up since the booster, I had it a few weeks ago and I've improved more than I did in months.

Don't know if it is a coincidence or the jab triggered something but I hope it has the same effect for you. My only issue was that the woman doing the jab did it too high and I've never had such a painful injection, painful arm for about 24 hrs but wasn't nice. Don't know what she was thinking as she did it so high.

TurquoiseBeach · 12/11/2022 01:14

@ancientgran thank you. Glad it seemed to help you, but sorry it was painful.

Obliv · 12/11/2022 23:32

DH and I had ours two days ago. Just a tender arm for me, both generally feeling fine.

LaGioconda · 13/11/2022 08:41

I've had no reactions other than a slightly sore arm from each injection, and the last time I had covid and flu together. I'm very happy to carry on having both regularly.

This is strange about visual issues. A friend of mine got Covid two weeks before her booster was due so she couldn't have it. She has not been able to see properly out of her left the ever since. It's been about six weeks now although she did say last time we spoke that she thought it might have improved slightly.

It would seem that having the virus or the vaccine can still cause problems.

I have had 4 vaccines and will be having a 5th in due course. I really don't understand why anyone doesn't want to take a vaccine that can save their life. I am late 30s with no health conditions but trust the experts that say it is safer to take it. Many of the vaccine stories are simply from anti vaxxers/ daily fail readers - why would the government and scientists lie to us about vaccine safety?

I had no side effects from the first two vaccines apart from nausea for a few days after the second one. I was one of the very few that suffered myocarditis ( checked in hospital) after the third jab which resolved itself after a few weeks although it was a little scary at the time. After the 4th jab I had no side effects at all so out of 4 jabs, 75% were fine.

I take my vaccines because I want to avoid catching covid, long covid and with a tough winter approaching we need to protect the NHS.

Buzzinwithbez · 14/11/2022 07:25

I can't work out whether the previous post is serious or not.
Mid, 30s, no health conditions and only got myocarditis from 1 out of 4 of the vaccines.
Ok, best crack on then.
