Anyone still never had covid?

Never had covid, that I know of anyway as don’t regularly test only if I was Feeling I’ll or been in close contact. We’ve had covid in the household twice and only have a small house so couldn’t really isolate but I didn’t catch either time. Not complaining but thinking there can’t be many left that haven’t had. Interestingly neither my mum or dad has had either

My parents haven't but they are not really living their lives that much

mandolinwind · 09/10/2022 11:20

None of us in our household has had it that we know of - all of us are home most of the time. Two of us are vulnerable. Avoid most shops and crowded indoor spaces. Still wearing FFP2 masks. Full vaccinated and boosted.

Do you know what that comment sounds like? How the frig do you know if you've had it or not? 😂some people man.

Why would I test for an infection if I am not ill? If I am not ill, I have not had it as far as I am concerned. I've never tested for rabies but I know I haven't had it.

What was this obsession with constant testing, regardless if you were ill or not? Was there some prize on offer that I missed? I tell you, if the test was a lumbar puncture, there would have been few that wanted a second go.

Worked in a school all through the pandemic, worked with children we later found out were positive whilst they were still attending school, dh had it over Christmas. Despite all of this I never got covid. I'm deemed as vulnerable so had my 4th jab around 2 months ago. Then 2 weeks ago it's raging again in school - but now totally uncontrolled - and I finally succumbed. I was and still am absolutely gutted that after avoiding it all this time I got it. I was off 2 weeks, just returned but think it's going to be a few weeks before I'm fully well again. Don't be sure you won't get it when you least expect it. I thought I was immune and would never get it. I was wrong.

been and done it. · 09/10/2022 11:33

I could have written this post last Tuesday then wham....after all this time and a week after my 6th jab I've got it...

silverclock222 · 09/10/2022 11:35

Never had it and neither has unvaccinated DP. I have had cancer and spent lots of time in hospital over last 3 years.

OneDayIWillBeOrganised · 09/10/2022 11:36

I've never had it. I've had many routine LFTs (when regular testing was in place) and a couple of PCR tests when I've been unwell.
Been around lots of people who've tested positive so does make me wonder how I've avoided it.

soundsofthesixties · 09/10/2022 11:36

I haven't, my daughter hasn't but both her husband and 2 children have had it.

RedToothBrush · 09/10/2022 11:37

I suspect I've had it, but I've always tested negative despite testing frequently during feeling ill or there being a case in the house.

Its really bizarre.

Jules912 · 09/10/2022 11:41

My sister and her family haven't knowingly , though they don't test my 2 year old nephew.

TeddyBeans · 09/10/2022 11:42

Me, my DS, my partner and both my parents and his parents have all avoided it. My brother, his gf and a handful of my friends have had it. I'm amazed I've managed to miss it, I've worked in schools and nurseries since covid started and DS was in nursery throughout

BooksAndHooks · 09/10/2022 11:43

5 of us in our house me, DH and DS2 never had it. The last blood test I did for a research panel I’m in also confirmed not had it.

MeghansBitch · 09/10/2022 11:44

Nope family of 4 , only 1 has had it so far.

LynetteScavo · 09/10/2022 11:45

DD hasn't had it, but then she went through the whole of primary school without a day off. She just doesn't seem to catch viruses.

zizza · 09/10/2022 11:46

A week or so ago and I would've rather smugly say "me" and household, but it got us at last

Lonelycrab · 09/10/2022 11:48

Me and ds10 are about the only ones in our circle that haven’t had it. Got a sore throat at the start of last week and was convinced I’d finally got it, tested 4 times with 2 different brands- all negative, and I’m better now. Triple jabbed.

CluelessHamster · 09/10/2022 11:49

As far as I know, I've never had it.

But both my parents and my sister could have said the same until two weeks ago and all have had/got it now so I'm feeling less confident that I might come from a naturally immune family!

I work in a hospital - not on the respiratory wards but still...

Costacoffeeplease · 09/10/2022 11:51

Not me, my husband or my mum

Belladonnamama · 09/10/2022 11:53

Family of 5,never had it.

BigWoollyJumpers · 09/10/2022 11:55

Myself and DH - as far as we know. DD1 had in way back at the beginning, brought it home from London as she fled the first lockdown. No-one else got it.

DH has been in and out of London throughout, and literally every one else in his office has had it at least once. Still he has never had it, even sat in meetings with 15 other people for a day, or a fundraiser night with a 100's of people, and he was the only one who didn't get it.

I haven't had it, but then I never go anywhere, other than day to day mouching about.

We have had all our vaccines and boosters, inc. the DD's. Wash our hands, but never really worried about masks either or other mitigating measures.

DD2 caught it last year when she started Uni.

mondaytosunday · 09/10/2022 12:04

Nope never had it, and neither has my daughter (17). She's on the tube every day but was very strict about the rules - always wore a mask, washed her hands etc.
I think my son probably has had it, though did not test himself (he doesn't live with me). His boss has had it twice and they work quite closely together. He's complained of a couple nasty colds with a cough, but not bad enough to take more than a day or two off work, though the cough lingered. He couldn't get a test at the time and at the start he had four days off in a row coincidentally. But it was never confirmed.
My sisters (USA) both got it March 2020, and again this past summer. One is a doctor and has been quadruple vaxxed, the other has a disabled daughter so has also had early access to vaccinations. One sister has never regained her sense of smell or taste from the first infection - and she's a great cook 😔.

Objectionhearsayspeculation · 09/10/2022 12:05

Until 2 weeks ago none of the 4 of us had it. I got it first, I'm CV and I'm still really ill with it and might have permanent hearing loss, Dd2 was next but was fine apart from a bit of a cough. Dd1 next also really unwell for more than a week. DH last was rough for a few days but fine quickly. We have been so careful for the whole pandemic and one work inspection, auditor brought it with him.

I've not had it and neither has anyone in my household 🤷‍♀️ That's me - 40ish high BMI 3 jabs, my DP - 35ish healthy and unvaccinated, Grandma- 80ish underlying conditions unvaccinated and DS - 4 and unvaccinated
Grandma goes to supermarket once a week and has visitors most days, I have worked away from home all the way through pandemic, DP WFH during lockdown but now mixed WFH and office and DS attends CM and preschool.
I have been exposed to covid several times now and we all test plenty

Hermione101 · 09/10/2022 12:17

Me, DP and our DS have never had it, or we have all been completely asymptomatic. I’m a regular at the gym, live in central London, take public transport everywhere, go into the office a few days a week, fly long haul, etc..

Gwenhwyfar · 09/10/2022 12:19

Not had it. I'm not particularly careful, but I live alone and was forced to wfh when numbers were high. I'm a blood group O which is supposed to help.
