Anyone still never had covid?

Never had covid, that I know of anyway as don’t regularly test only if I was Feeling I’ll or been in close contact. We’ve had covid in the household twice and only have a small house so couldn’t really isolate but I didn’t catch either time. Not complaining but thinking there can’t be many left that haven’t had. Interestingly neither my mum or dad has had either

No, never. Been in close contact with lso many positive cases in the last three years just before they were unwell including sharing food with daughter eating off the same fork (afternoon tea out so tasting each other's cakes) the day before she tested positive.

Fluffyhoglets · 05/01/2023 18:06

Got it for the first time now. Its going round all the family who have avoided it so far!

BlessMyCottonSocks · 31/12/2022 01:33

I’ve not had it - yet. I’ve tested when I’ve had what I thought was just a cold and separately before coming into contact with vulnerable friends and family even though I felt well. Negative each time. I’ve had all my jabs. It just seems so random.

Bonjovispyjamas · 31/12/2022 00:52

Never had it. Had all my jabs, but came into close contact with people who had it before the vaccination was available, just hoping I'm one of those people with natural immunity.

countrygirl99 · 30/12/2022 08:49

I tested before visiting elderly parents or for a few days if I had been in contact with someone who tested positive. There was a spell last year when I thought it was inevitable. I visited my dad twice when he died on a covid ward. My vet was showing me something wrong in my horses eye one evening, any closer and we'd have been snogging and next morning he tested positive. Then for the next few weeks it seemed like every time I talked to someone they tested positive a few hours later. But every test was negative. So in 3 months I must have had a dozen close contacts but nothing.

RosesAndHellebores · 30/12/2022 00:43

Well my time came. I dodged it until 27th December. I usually fight things off well and quickly. The type who went to work with shingles!

I have pretty much been in bed for two days, feeling as weak as a kitten. Coughing from deep within, slight headache, achey legs, sneezing, runny nose. Not like influenza and not like a cold. Earlier this afternoon I listened to my chest crackle and gurgle for half an hour and there was an audible wheeze. Once or twice if I have had a really deep cough I have felt dizzy and light headed.

Had my 4th jab about two/three months ago. I dread to think what I'd have been like without the jabs. I have been much iller than my young people.

TheMagicDeckchair · 29/12/2022 22:50

I’ve never had a positive test. But I suspect I’ve had it at least once- I was on holiday with my parents earlier in the year, staying in the same cottage. I was ill and had a really strange rib pain that I thought must be pleurisy. Parents both tested positive for it shortly after the holiday, my tests were all negative.

Had extended family round a few days ago- two had cold-like symptoms, chills etc and tested positive. I’ve had exactly the same symptoms and still negative. Also had backache, which my mum said she had with Covid.

I’m convinced I will never test positive for it, although I’m not someone to test constantly.

Then again I have three young kids who bring home every bug, so maybe it is an eternal cold.

TribeD · 27/12/2022 20:23

DH hasn't had it, neither have my parents. DD had it, gave it to me, I've had it twice and am vaccinated and boosted.

FoxCorner · 27/12/2022 02:00

Have been on london tubes too

FoxCorner · 27/12/2022 01:59

I haven't. I travel on busy London buses, trains and coaches a lot, although I avoided them before I was vaxed. I take all the vaxes offered (over 50 years so get offered boosters)

Adviceneeded200 · 26/12/2022 23:13

We hadn't, until 2 weeks ago. Now we have

Streamside · 25/12/2022 17:25

I've still never had it, hoping for the best. I work with vulnerable people and perhaps the high level of vaccination made a difference.

Fathercrossmas · 25/12/2022 11:01

I've never tested as whenever I have felt vaguely ill it's been at a time when I wouldn't pass anything on anyway (WFH, don't see anyone in a non distanced way outside).

InfinityOrUndefined · 25/12/2022 10:56

Not knowingly. I have had reallly mild colds but kept testing negative. Dh and dc had delta. I did pcr them and it was negative and no symptoms either.

JustDanceAddict · 25/12/2022 08:00

BiL and MiL never had it but they’re incredibly careful.

wychiep00 · 25/12/2022 03:12

I haven't knock wood but I've only left home for medical appointments since 2020 and we never go anywhere.

healthadvice123 · 29/10/2022 10:44

@JudithHarper the idea of testing was to protect others especially before vaccines l,latest variants
Some of us have very vulnerable people in out households , extended family rtc or had to test due to work
My friend has terminal cancer so I tested when visiting as covid for them could be a lot worse

healthadvice123 · 29/10/2022 10:40

All the people I know who haven't had it are starting to get it in last couple weeks
My brother and Sil will claim they have never had it but they have never tested even with Symptoms so they would never actually know

healthadvice123 · 29/10/2022 10:11

First time I had it I wouldn't of really known just tested as at time whole household had to test when a case in the house
So bet some have had and not known

FridayTheThirteeth · 27/10/2022 17:43

My partner. Despite sharing a bed with me - tested negative every day. Being with sons who had it and again testing negative each time.

Worriedddd · 27/10/2022 16:51

Never had it diagnosed, I've worked with people with it throughout the pandemic. I never locked down as had to work. I suspect I have did catch it in march 2020 as I had awful pleurisy but they weren't testing then.

YoSofi · 27/10/2022 11:23

I had it last October, it was awful and I developed long covid.

My mum (CEV) managed to avoid it up until just over a week ago, it hit her hard but she’s thankfully feeling better than she did and tested negative for the first time in 10 days this morning.

Never had it and worked as a Covid tester for over 1 year.

I've had 3 vaccines and been surrounded by covid since day one, I work in nhs, family members in the house have even had it and I've not got it until this week. 😩 I was beginning to feel rather smug thinking I had immunity or had had it but didn't even realise early on in the pandemic. But by god it's a shitty illness. I'm currently on day 5 and feel like death warmed up.

Ditto though none of my family members in the house have had it.
I thought I must be immune! Regretting not having the booster vaccine on offer at the hospital now - I've had the first three, but initially the hospital was using Moderna and everyone was complaining of feeling ill after it, some going off sick so I didn't want it. By the time they go Pfizer (which is what I had for the initial three jabs) I had decided I didn't want it. Now here I am, day five and feeling terrible.
Isolating in the bedroom, we only have one bathroom so I wear a mask to the loo, I really don't want DH or DD to get it.
DD is off to London to start an exciting new job this weekend - leaving celebration is off obv and I'll have to wave her away out of the window, I've hardly spoken to her all week, I really don't want her to get ill the week she starts, there's a four month intense initial training and she has signed a very serious contract agreeing to repay £15k training costs if she drops out during the period of her contract.
It'll be a nightmare if she is ill right at the start.

It's now in my house for the 4th time so let's see if I get it this time... so far feeling fine

Can't get hold of any tests but the way I feel I think I have finally got it!
