Thanks @boys3 . Still following the thread with interest although not much to comment on just now.

@Quarantino we've still not had it although there's a mysterious cold/chesty/sickness virus going round DCs school and nobody testing so we'll see in a week or so!

@JanglyBeads Also seems to be a lot of Scarlet Fever amoungst DCs.

With Christmad three weeks this Sunday a quick update on health metrics in England.

Very slight upward move in admissions and slightly less again for number in hospital - based on the seven day average.

These graphs are the percentage change.

Chrismad - it may well be, but it should have said Christmas!

Back to the data. Absolute numbers for admissions - year on year comparisons and then just this year v last year for September through to Xmas. This time last we were just a week or so away - reporting wise - from the start in London of the omicron impacts.

rates per million by NHS region. Although the SW has the most pronounced increase in admissions over the past weeks it still has the lowest rate per million in terms of number in hospital.

number in ventilator beds largely flat and multiple times lower than at this time last year, which in turn was several times lower than numbers seen at the peak.

deaths within 28 days of a positive test and with C19 on the death certificate, both by date of death, continue, as a lagging indicator to fall.
