Omicron theory

So we have been chatting to a few people recently and we have noticed that the ones who had a bad reaction to their jabs - haven’t caught covid so far.

And those who had no reaction to jabs have caught it.

Is this your experience too?

Hohumfeelingglum · 26/03/2022 19:13

I had no reaction and haven't caught it yet

TabithaHazel · 26/03/2022 19:16

I had no reaction to any of the jabs and I haven't had it yet.

JemimaMuddledUp · 26/03/2022 19:16

I had a pretty bad reaction to my first dose of the vaccine (AZ), had to take 4 days off work. Less of a reaction to the second dose (AZ again) and no reaction to the booster (Pfizer).

I recently had Covid (for the first time) and it was bad enough to take 2 weeks off work.

Christienne · 26/03/2022 19:19

If bad reaction = not being able to get off the sofa for a day 24 hrs after having the jab (?)…

I’m currently on day 7 of Covid (still testing positive).

I’m almost positive it’s Omicron as it spread like wild fire through a work team meeting but has been pretty mild.

3catsandcounting · 26/03/2022 19:20

I had a bad reaction to first AZ vaccine, a little with second, nothing with booster, then I caught Covid.

ilovesooty · 26/03/2022 19:21

No reaction to any of the vaccinations and haven't caught covid to date.

RainBow725 · 26/03/2022 19:22

Nope. I was unwell with my first jab - for about 10 days and then really ill with covid (Delta) in August for about 5 weeks.

PattyMelt · 26/03/2022 19:35

I had no reaction to the vaccines, I had covid pretty bad early in the first lockdown.

MirandaWest · 26/03/2022 19:38

I had a bit of a reaction to my injections and recently had Covid

SirVixofVixHall · 26/03/2022 19:41

Very bad reactions to both vaccines - AZ, and the booster -Pfizer.
So far I haven’t caught Covid, DH had Delta but I didn’t.
I know so many people with Covid at the moment though that catching it feels inevitable.
Has anyone been exposed to Omicron but not caught it ?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 26/03/2022 19:43

Horrific reaction to all 3 jabs ( each one was a week of illness)

Not had it yet.

Cherryana · 26/03/2022 19:44

Thanks everyone - it didn’t take much to rubbish our me and dh’s theory.

Sorry to everyone who has been/is unwell - I hope it passes soon for you.

Bad reaction to jab and have had covid twice, the last time being Omicron

mummywithtwokidsplusdog · 26/03/2022 19:46

I was really unwell after first AZ vaccine, ok after second and also booster. Recently had Covid and was unwell and still feel like I’ve been run over by a bus :(

Thedogshow · 26/03/2022 19:50

Bad reaction to jabs and agreed with your theory until I got covid and felt awful for several days!

LoganberryJam · 26/03/2022 19:52

No reaction to jabs and I have caught Covid but very mildly. Not sure how that fits with your theory!

Scarby9 · 26/03/2022 19:55

I had no reaction and haven't caught it.
My parents had no reaction and haven't caught it.
Lots of friends had no reaction and haven't caught it.
Lots of friends had no reaction and have caught it.
Of the few people I know who did react to the vaccine, the proportion who have and haven't had Covid is roughly similar to those that didn't react.

salemcat · 26/03/2022 20:10

Nope, bad reaction to jag, caught covid& had a bad time of it. DH had no reaction to jag or having covid.

Confuzzlediddled · 26/03/2022 20:14

Nope, I had a reaction from the 1st, was ok for the 2nd & 3rd and wasn't great after the 4th. Haven't caught it, dh had a reaction to his first, was fine for the 2nd and 3rd, DC fine for all 3 and none of us have caught it

PurpleDaisies · 26/03/2022 20:15

Here everyone has caught it. It’s just very transmissible.

Lindy2 · 26/03/2022 20:15

I caught Covid before vaccinations were available. I was pretty ill for 3 weeks and took several months to recover properly.

Had first AZ jab 8 weeks after getting Covid. Very rough with side effects for a couple of days.

Second AZ hardly any side effects.

Pfizer booster and rough with the side effects again but thankfully only 24 hours this time.

Hopefully avoiding Covid for a second time but with so much of it about who knows.

Frosty1000 · 26/03/2022 20:20

Awful reaction to both AZ jabs, less horrendous with moderna booster but still a reaction.

Terrible covid as well, was not well at all 😢

MyBookShelf · 26/03/2022 20:25

Bad reaction to the first two jabs, but not so bad for the booster.
Horrid Covid recently and still not fully recovered 7 weeks later.

FairWindClearSailing · 26/03/2022 20:26

Husband and I, my mum - no reaction at all and not caught it.
Then my auntie and a good friend had bad reactions and caught it.
So think it's just a coincidence what you've noticed

Kennykenkencat · 26/03/2022 20:28

Never had the jab and not officially caught Covid (although we all had what we now think was Covid in December 2019)
