Omicron theory

So we have been chatting to a few people recently and we have noticed that the ones who had a bad reaction to their jabs - haven’t caught covid so far.

And those who had no reaction to jabs have caught it.

Is this your experience too?

I felt terrible after 1st jab and the booster but only for 24 hours. Just getting over covid now. It's been like a bad cold and I have felt rough but able to carry on. But so so tired. Been falling asleep every night really early

MummyInTheNecropolis · 27/03/2022 15:18

I had no reaction to any of the jabs and caught covid twice (first time I’d only had one jab, second time I’d had all 3). My best friend had a bad reaction to the jabs and has never caught covid despite being in close contact with me both times I had it (before I knew, obviously). So we fit your theory OP!

LightSpeeds · 27/03/2022 15:18

Nope, not my experience. I had a bad reaction to the jabs and have just had COVID and was unwell (same symptoms as with jabs but for longer).

raspberryjamchicken · 27/03/2022 15:24

No reaction to any of my jabs. Haven't caught it despite being a primary school teacher surrounded all day by kids and colleagues who have had it. DH had bad reactions to every jab. He caught Delta but hasn't had Omicron.

Now I've said that, I will probably get it.

Mindtheears · 27/03/2022 15:26

No reaction to vaccines, me & DH. Recent covid - me, mild cold; DH, nothing (DC2, nothing: DC1, didn’t catch).

SamphiretheStickerist · 27/03/2022 15:29

DSis had bad reaction and is currently languishing at home with covid.

Nice try. But I suspect someone in a lab somewhere would have run that correlation a long time ago.

SamphiretheStickerist · 27/03/2022 15:31

@rasberrychickenjam DSis is an EYFS teacher and has stayed at work whilst colleagues have had covid twice, many kids have had it and she has been absolutely fine. Until Wednesday.

So spin round 3 times widdershins apologising to the Little People or you will indeed be struck down with it. 😋

MissPingPong · 27/03/2022 15:33

No, not IME. I had a bad experience to all covid vaccines and had a bad run of Omicron in January. DH reacted mildly to the vaccines and had a slightly milder version of omicron.

Weightscales · 27/03/2022 15:59

I had no reaction and caught it.
My DM had no reaction and caught it.
My DB had no reaction and caught it.
My DS had a bad reaction and caught it.
My DH had a mild reaction and caught it too.

Everyone poorly in a similar way when we had covid, despite being different variants. Sorry don't think this theory stands up

hopeishere · 27/03/2022 16:46

I had no reaction, nor did DH and we both caught it.

samandpoppysmummy · 27/03/2022 17:14

I had a bad reaction to the two Astra Zeneca jabs but not the Pfizer booster. I have never had Covid. My DS (16) had no reaction to his Pfizer vaccinations and has also never had Covid. My DD (15) had Covid (with no symptoms) before she was able to have her first vaccination and had no reaction to the jab when she eventually had it. She's still not able to have the second as it hasn't been 12 weeks since the delayed first one yet.

Nomoresmoresthensnores · 27/03/2022 17:50

I think (following my OP) that those who caught it very early on got a stronge immune response.

NeverForgetYourDreams · 27/03/2022 19:16

Sister had bad reaction to vaccines. Had positive test last week

CaptainMyCaptain · 27/03/2022 19:18

@Hohumfeelingglum

I had no reaction and haven't caught it yet
Same here. No reaction. No covid.
usernotfound0000 · 27/03/2022 19:22

I felt rough after first 2 jabs, really rough after the booster and have just got over Covid. So not true for me.

Stroopwaffle5000 · 27/03/2022 19:44

Neither me or OH had bad reactions to the vaccine, and we haven't caught COVID yet.

Nomoresmoresthensnores · 27/03/2022 21:17

Yes but the point is that those who had covid the very first variant had it bad, and the AZ vaccine also was a bit rough too.. so that combo caused a big reaction... BUT ultimately we've been quite strongly immune since
Fingers crossed.
The other scenarios aren't the same quite.
Variants and vaccines have differed. It was all very very rough in the early days. (Not to lessen awful experiences since).

TakingTheLowRoad · 27/03/2022 21:19

I had a terrible reaction to my 2nd covid vaccination and the booster.

Caught covid on March 8th -still suffering now

TheKeatingFive · 27/03/2022 21:20

I would support your theory. I had no reaction to my Pfizer jabs, but was knocked out completely after the moderna booster.

I had covid 6 weeks after that very mildly

morbidcuriosity · 27/03/2022 22:11

No reaction to the jabs, and never caught covid and im around positive cases a bit with work..

ginsparkles · 27/03/2022 22:16

I had a yuck reaction to my jabs. Caught covid 7 weeks ago and have inflamed muscles in my rib cage now which are expected to last for several months.

Rupertgrintismyguiltypleasure · 27/03/2022 22:21

Nope, I had no reaction whatsoever and haven’t caught it yet my brother and his gf both had reactions and have both caught it... they live with us and they were the only 2 out of 8 that caught it... they were all over the house aswell.
LibbyR79 · 27/03/2022 22:29

I had quite a bad reaction to jabs and have had covid twice x

Cherryana · 27/03/2022 22:50

I am so sorry to hear how ill covid has made some of you. Thank you for replying to my thread x
