She’s 11 and fine thank god but first time we’ve dealt with it. Luckily. The rest is us negative at present. Would I be ok to go out for a late walk masked about 7pm?

You or her? If you're vaccinated you can do what you like but she has to stay home. As others have said if you're in England then it changes tomorrow to only being advice. I would follow it if I had Covid as really don't want to infect anyone but a walk outside would be so low risk this wouldn't concern me.

You're negative so why wouldn't you be able to go out? Like everyone says nobody has to isolate tomorrow anyway.

DH and I are both positive at the moment. Dc are testing negative and are well so are both in school as per guidelines in England.

You are negative. As long as you don't have symptoms, you are free to go out as you please.

Because you can? Because its just a mild illness for many and the government is stopping help so people are going to go back to work with covid school with covid shopping with covid Because that's life now

This is true, legally, at the moment. From midnight it’s just advice. I’m still going to follow it though (currently on day 1 of isolation).

Our school has been remarkably quiet on the subject but I'd assume while they're still advised to isolate schools won't take them, much like they won't with D&V bugs. Of course it'll be a different matter next term when there's no testing.

That could be because she has tested positive before the change. Check whether they are giving you guidance or instructions. If the latter, she will be legally compelled to follow them. If the former, then it’s a moral decision to make.

All asymptotic children will be in school anyway from tomorrow (or next week for those of us on half term now).

We've been out to a zoo and it was the first time that no one was wearing masks! So weird as usually in the supermarket people are wearing them but when we all walked into the arena for an animal show there wasn't a single one being worn! Felt odd

Just to add - this is no cold. DH and I both triple jabbed. Both healthy people in our 40s. No underlying health needs. Rarely get ill etc etc. First time with Covid now and it has hit us both hard. Flu and upset stomachs. In bed for most of the day.

So we will of course stay at home until we feel well enough not to, despite what other's say. As I said, this is not a cold.
