How many get covid after triple vaccines

Dodie66 · 04/02/2022 17:03

Just wondering if there are any figures on how many people get covid after having the 3 vaccines. I tried looking online but could find any statistics. I know a lot of people that have had it after being triple vaccinated

Yes you do get it, of course, it was never claimed that you don't. You just get it very mild.

Alicenwonderland · 04/02/2022 17:06

Me! Day 11 and feeling absolutely awful! I have tonsillitis too and I've honestly never been so ill.

Whyarewehardofthinking · 04/02/2022 17:08

Me. Third time now, one before, once after 2 doses and now after my December booster.

Not as bad as the other 2.

KeepingOnKeepingUp · 04/02/2022 17:09

50%. This is based on a sample of 2 in my household right now, so may not be considered reliable as a basis for future policy decisions.

Wingingthis · 04/02/2022 17:09

Me! Was awfuly sick (as in vomiting) for 24 hours and then mild cold symptoms

MajorCarolDanvers · 04/02/2022 17:10

Don't know how many catch it after vaccination but the real eye catching statistic is if they do get it then they are 93% less likely to die than the unvaccinated.

I am treble jabbed (as are all my family) and none of us has ever had covid.

ShallWeTalkAboutBruno · 04/02/2022 17:13

I had it after no jabs then again after 3. I was more ill the second time!

minipie · 04/02/2022 17:16

I’ve got it now. Triple jabbed. I’m not well (sore throat, cough, tired) but not too bad. Needed a day mostly in bed.

OwlNoisesInHerFace · 04/02/2022 17:18

I've got it at the moment. Had my booster just before Christmas. I'm on day five. Monday and Tuesday I felt like I had a heavy cold and sore throat, but have been mostly fine other than that.

SilverontheTree · 04/02/2022 17:20

Lots but vaccination has turned it from a killer (for some) into a disease that can usually be managed at home.

DrunkenKoala · 04/02/2022 17:20

DP is on day 4, he had his booster about 10 weeks ago. He’s tired, sluggish, had headaches, his cough was quite bad the first couple of days but seems okay now. He’s CV so I’m glad he had all three jabs and isn’t suffering too much.

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 04/02/2022 17:23

I did after all 3. It was just a bad cold with vomiting at the time but I still can’t run (I could easily run 8 miles before) a few weeks later. It makes me feel faint.

GrazingSheep · 04/02/2022 17:24

Dd on day 7
Sore throat, sinus problems but no temperature or cough

Gassylady · 04/02/2022 17:24

Another one here. Work in a high risk/high exposure field. Had booster Nov time and positive on pre work LFT last weekend. Like a heavy cold for me with one day in bed because i just ciuldnt warm up otherwise.
So glad i managed to avoid it until after vaccines - seen it take a really heavy toll on so mamy people.

Punxsutawney · 04/02/2022 17:24

I have, in January, booster was in December. Felt pretty unwell and 3 weeks later I am still tired and coughing. Ds who is in his teens and remains unvaccinated, due to his additional needs and severe anxiety, did not catch it from me, despite us mixing at home.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 04/02/2022 17:24

I did but feel no worse than a bad cold :)

Finallygotme · 04/02/2022 17:25

@LasHappyDaz

I mean that is bollocks. The government did say it cuts transmission, it was expected to like measles, and you don't just get it very mild.
Dodie66 · 04/02/2022 18:02

I realise that you can still catch it after vaccines. I wanted to know if there were any official figures. Maybe not. The government probably dont want us to know

Well the answer is lots.

DirtyDancing · 04/02/2022 18:36

@Alicenwonderland as someone who knows what proper tonsillitis is like, and who has covid right now you have my full and complete sympathy. That sounds totally rough Daffodil

If it's helpful the best thing for a sore throat it's kids Ibruprofen (reduces swelling. Check dosage but you need to increase to get an adult amount, but boy is it amazing)

Difflam throat spray. It actually works

Greenmarmalade · 04/02/2022 18:42

I have it after 3 jabs and so very glad I had them.

Awakened22 · 04/02/2022 19:16

Somewhere between 1500 and 5200 cases per 100,000 people depending on age. This is from last week in the UK Covid vaccine surveillance report.
