Who else still hasn’t had it?

I’m in an are where everyone seems to have it. We’ve been out, to the pub, restaurants, both in offices where people have it. DH and I still clear. We don’t have kids in school, were quite careful in week before Christmas and work from home about half the week…

I don't think I have but of course could have been asymptomatic.

DontWantTheRivalry · 09/01/2022 07:37

I’m a nurse, husband is a teacher, eldest son is in school and youngest son is in childcare but none of us have had it.

I’m terms of family…..my father-in-law has had it and my sister has too, but that’s it. And I come from a very big family.

MarshaBradyo · 09/01/2022 07:38

I’m not sure we’ve had positive dc in house but so far I’ve not been symptomatic or had positive test

May have had it asymptomatically

Crowdfundingforcake · 09/01/2022 07:39

Not had it, don't know anyone who's had it. Live in one of the UK's more sparsely populated regions and there are no school age children in the wider family. We've been reasonably careful due to older family members with health issues but not been locked away by any means.

SmallElephant · 09/01/2022 07:40

I've never had it as far as I know, even when my DC had it.

ashorterday · 09/01/2022 07:41

Me, or my two dc. DH had it before Christmas.

delilahbucket · 09/01/2022 07:44

As far as we are aware neither, me, DH or DS have had it, and that is despite being in very, very close contact with a positive case the day before they tested, although we had all tested negative that day. Of course we could have been asymptomatic, we could even have been carrying the virus that day and a test not picked it up. Two others from the gathering also came down with it four days later, but they could have caught it elsewhere at that point.

firef1y · 09/01/2022 07:44

I've not officially had it but...

I did have something Christmas 19 that if I'd had it 3months later would most likely have been diagnosed as covid. I had all the symptoms (including loss of taste, discovered that chocolate is disgusting if you can't taste it) and was the illest I've been in a very long time (as in felt like I was dying) and then had post viral syndrome that took months to resolve (tbh I still sometimes get energy issues now over 2 years later). My friend, who had (presumably) the same thing I had at the same time and is also still struggling with energy issues, has had covid in her household 3 times and not once caught it, despite the close contact (she works for patient facing for the NHS so has been taking lfts regularly for longer than me as well as regular pcrs).

We're both pretty much convinced that we had it then and if it wasn't actual covid it was close enough that it's given us some immunity

CirreltheSquirrel · 09/01/2022 07:45

I haven't no kids and have been WFH other than for about 3 months (september-december) where I was doing 3 days per week in the office. My OH has a similar working pattern. We're not really big on socialising in crowded places - most of our hobbies are outdoor exercise related, so that helps!

GoodnightGrandma · 09/01/2022 07:46

Me and my immediate family, and our parents.

MarshaBradyo · 09/01/2022 07:46

1 in 3 have no symptoms iirc

So that’s quite high in terms of people thinking they may not have had it

Antibodies are high in population - perhaps vaccination is a big part of that though

TenoringBehind · 09/01/2022 07:47

Me.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 09/01/2022 07:47

Me as far as I know (NHS). Nor has Dh who can’t work from home nor 2 teenage sons.
We must have awesome immune systems!

GoodnightGrandma · 09/01/2022 07:47

End of 2019 two colleagues had a stinking cold and I caught it, one of them had a barking cough but we were all well enough to keep working.
I do wonder if that was it.

Morethanthis71 · 09/01/2022 07:47

I teach secondary. I have no idea how I haven't had it. I think the fact that we clean the door handles and all the desks every hour must have something to do with it, plus now masks are back. Just tested again as part of the routine testing.
At one stage, 16 of my tutor group of 28 went home after I'd seen them in the morning ... I didn't catch it.

Rainydonkey · 09/01/2022 07:50

I haven't as far as I know. Neither have DH or DS despite DS being at school, and both DH and I having to go out to work and mix with people throughout. I'm expecting our luck to run out at some point.

vdbfamily · 09/01/2022 07:50

I work in a hospital, have been on Covid wards and assessed Covid patients. I have had most of my team test positive over last 2 years. My husband has had it, my daughter had it and we had all had 8 hours in a car with her coming home from Scotland. My son has had it.

Hassled · 09/01/2022 07:53

I'm starting to wonder if I'm one of the people who had it but was asymptomatic - I've had a crazy amount of close contacts. One of my adult DCs, then living at home, was positive and I didn't catch it, and loads of colleagues have had Covid, several of whom I've sat in meetings with shortly before they tested. And I constantly deal with members of the public at work.

But then that makes no sense because presumably I'd have passed it on to at least DH, and it seems unlikely he'd also be asymptomatic.

I shouldn't tempt fate though - it's certainly just a matter of time.

Saucery · 09/01/2022 07:56

Work in a primary school in close contact with small children. DS was at school, now at Uni. Had weird breathless thing in Feb 20 that lasted a couple of weeks, like I couldn’t get quite enough air in without actually thinking about it and waking up gasping a bit. No tests around then, of course.
Been in contact with colleagues who went on to test positive in the last year or so, but not caught it.
Had several colds, so my immune system obviously not a total ninja, but no Covid.

ashorterday · 09/01/2022 07:59

That's weird, I've had that!

Isgooglebroken · 09/01/2022 08:01

CEV DH so doing everything I can to avoid it so I don’t kill him.
Terrified that they’ve changed it so that just LFT will do as I know so many people who have negative LFT but positive PCR Sad

It was bizarre! I didn’t go to the GP with it as I don’t have asthma and it just didn’t seem that serious. It wasn’t after a cold, it just came on. I went away for a few days and walks were a bit of a trial, too, had no energy.
RunningInTheWind · 09/01/2022 08:07

Afaik no. I’ve never tested either. Tbf I stopped licking the handrails on the escalators back in the 80s.

My ex has had it and chose not to tell me when handing the kids back…

Had to carry/stay with a neighbour and get an ambulance in feb 20 when her breathing was fucked - she was public-facing working with returning skiiers.

Fallible · 09/01/2022 08:10

Never had a positive test or any symptoms. I regularly lft for work. I think I must have had it asymptomatically somewhere though before LFTs started, or they just didn't pick it up.

Ragwort · 09/01/2022 08:13

No not had it, work in retail and have volunteered regularly throughout the pandemic with vulnerable people ... have elderly parents who were in hospital but they didn't catch it either. Only know one person who has had Covid (mildly) .. I worked with him before he tested positive but I didn't get it.
