How long did omicron take you down for?

Apologies if this has been done before, couldn't find anything. Even a general Google gives too many responses about Covid in general.

I had Covid last March. Wiped me out for a month, was in bed for 2 weeks of that month.

Jabbed in between and now Covid again. Omicron I assume.

Currently on day 4.
Day 1- headache all day
Day 2- headache all day plus mild sore throat
Day 3- woke with sore throat, turned into aches and mild cough throughout the day
Today- feeling horribly achey, sore throat, mild cough.

Anyone similar that can tell me what day you turned a corner and which day you were fine?

I realise everyone's different but I'm feeling shit and if most people say day 5/7 etc then at least i can look forward to that. Given you can test and end isolation day 6 and 7 I assumed by then but it feels unlikely I'd go from how I am to fine in 2 days.

Day 7 I was finally on the up.

WTF99 · 04/01/2022 18:45

Day 7 felt much better. Back to work (WFH) today day 8 and felt zapped by late morning. Headache returned. Had to finish early and rest.
Will see what tomorrow brings. I've had 2 negative LFTs day 7 and 8

LadyFuschia · 04/01/2022 18:47

Felt better day 5 & 6 so spent ages in the garden having a tidy, then yesterday & today have felt tired & croaky again. Also developed a horrible taste where your wasabi / mustard taste receptors are - spat out a mince pie as it tasted rancid. Other tastes are ok ish.

greenweepingwillow · 04/01/2022 18:56

started to feel bit better from day 6
much better by day 8
day 11 here now, and mostly fine, maybe just a bit more tired than normal
(lft still positive day6, negative days 7 and 8)

greenweepingwillow · 04/01/2022 18:57

(oh and actually days 3 and 4 were my worst days)

NeilTheBaby · 04/01/2022 18:59

Thanks guys.

Probably not usual but day 9 here and only able to stand for about half an hour then need to have a sit down!

LethargeMarg · 04/01/2022 19:04

I felt much better from day 5 Cough and sore throat eased
Only lingering symptoms now is mild cold and a sore mouth and tongue (day 5 and 6 tongue felt sore and swollen like bad mouth ulcers and I was talking a bit different )
Now end of day 7 feel back to normal pretty much but still positive lateral flows

Chanel05 · 04/01/2022 19:05

Felt fine the whole time.

NeilTheBaby · 05/01/2022 04:42

The fever has kicked in and I'm wide awake. Ffs I can't believe this is happening again. After this I'm moving to an island on my own!

Sorry for the rant. Just feeling sorry for myself as I feel so shit and I'd expected if I got it again it'd be mild and barely noticeable.

I had it over Christmas. Slight sore throat one morning so I tested and it was positive. Throat cleared up that afternoon and otherwise no symptoms throughout. I’m 2x jabbed and boosted.

Some of my friends have it right now — one’s had a mild sort of flu. In bed for a day, achy etc. Recovered in three days. (Though he is super-fit.) His boyfriend was asymptomatic. They’re both 2x jabbed but haven’t had the booster yet.

liveforsummer · 05/01/2022 08:23

Following, I started feeling hot but shivery around 5am yesterday morning. By about 2pm
I was in agony and it got worse throughout the day and in to the night - sore joints, bones, head and generally just feeling miserable. Some heartburn, feel queasy, absolutely vile taste in my mouth. Fever/shakes coming and going Pain killers don't seem to make any difference at all. Woke up this morning feeling groggy but in less pain but it seems to be creeping back now. Following as very much hoping early onset means quick

mutinyonthebunty · 05/01/2022 08:37

I started with a scratchy throat then had 2 days of shivers, hot and cold, achey and utterly miserable. Then sinus headaches and loss of taste and smell plus fatigue. Am on day 8 now and feel much better, taste and smell about 50% back but still have sore tongue and sinus/headache pain but am well enough to wfh. Not boosted yet as was due to get it the day after I tested positive, last AZ vaccine was 6 months ago. No one else in my household has tested positive but they all had it in October and I didn't. Hope you feel better soon!!

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 05/01/2022 08:38

I'm on day 4 and apart from I mild headache now and a bit tired I feel fine. I do habe really horrendous hives though which happened when I had covid in June and after every vaccine

MarshmallowFondant · 05/01/2022 08:40

24 hours for DD, who has only had one vaccine.

Rest of us in the house did not catch it from her.

StormBaby · 05/01/2022 08:40

Days 1-4 sore throat, headache and felt under the weather
Days 4-8 absolutely full of cold, eyes streaming, nose running, sneezing. Barely moved off sofa
Day 8- to now which is day 19, coughing non stop and lethargic. Been back at work since day 10 but I am knackered.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 05/01/2022 08:40

Had insomnia for the first few days , sneezing and really horrendous headache up until today

WhenSheWasBad · 05/01/2022 08:42

Today is day 8 for me. My throat still hurts and my voice isn’t right. Feel a lot better than I did, struggled to get put of bed for 3 days straight.

I’m still positive on LFTs, so not able to go back to work yet. I don’t feel up to it anyway.

DeclareThePenniesOnYourEyes · 05/01/2022 08:43

Felt considerably better on day 9. Since then (18 days since positive LFT) I’ve been operating on a kind of one-on-one-off situation where I feel pretty much normal and well and energetic one day and then the next totally wiped, headachy and need a nap. This alternate pattern has been going on since day 9.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 05/01/2022 10:51

Triple vaxxed. I was unwell between day 3 to day 7. Felt better again day 8.

SmallestInTheClass · 05/01/2022 10:59

Double vaxxed plus booster. Day 9 - tried to start back WFH yesterday but gave up after a couple of hours and back to the sofa. Had sore throat, headache and a very small amount of coughing day 1-6. Didn't have a fever but was tired. Felt pretty much back to normal on day 7 but then awful sinus headache hit on day 8. Day 9 and it's still there, I'm a feint positive on LF.

NeilTheBaby · 06/01/2022 23:22

Just in case anyone else was reading this and finds it comforting- fever lasted about 40 hours. Finally started to come down last night.
Today my husband said I look like a human again!
So day 4 was horrendous
Today- day 5- feel like I've just got really heavy cold, nose blocked, coughing and gone through so many tissues my nose is raw.

NeilTheBaby · 06/01/2022 23:23

Can't even count. Day 5 was horrendous. Today is day 6!

3 days of sinusitis. I never felt ill as such, but it took a further week for my fitness levels to be back to normal.
