What day were you LFT negative?

For those who kept testing- how long was it before your LFTs turned negative? I’m somewhere between day 5-7. I don’t particularly have any symptoms anymore (apart from fatigue, but tbf I am isolating with a 6 week old baby and a 2.5 year old) but I’m still getting blazing positives 😞. Feeling pretty low and anxious about it, as would have thought it would be at least fading by now..?

Keen to here others’ experiences…

Mine were positive right through until day 10. Really strong for the first week then started fading quite quickly.

LucyLocketLostThePlot · 26/12/2021 13:17

In the same boat here. On day 6 and still a very strong positive.

Bizawit · 26/12/2021 13:17

Ah ok, that’s helpful to know. I guess I just need to be patient. Le sigh.

Place marking. I'm day 5 and still blazing but do feel better today. I think if you have 2 negative tests and you are 7 days post positive pcr, you don't need to continue to isolate. I'm hopefully they will start to become negative by day seven.

itscoldinhere · 26/12/2021 13:19

Day 4 but I'm also recently boosted - idk if that makes a difference but I'm on day 8 now and have been negative for 4 days since positive LFT and PCR

itscoldinhere · 26/12/2021 13:20

Also not sure if it makes a difference either but I was totally asymptomatic. I wonder if they recover quicker? Totally anecdotal info.

AndAllOurYesterdays · 26/12/2021 13:21

Day 7 and very much still positive

NotSonicTheHedgehog · 26/12/2021 13:22

Question. As isolation ends on day 10 (if you don’t get the -ve LFT on day 6 and 7) what would happen if you took a LFT on day 10, had no symptoms but were still showing positive?

Titsywoo · 26/12/2021 13:23

I got a negative on day 6 and just did one for day 7 and got negative

It probably does make a difference. I had some fairly hefty symptoms, so I guess it makes sense it would take a bit longer. Most of my friends have had more your experience though, so I’m feeling a bit impatient and deflated at this point 😔.

You can still leave isolation

I read an article about this, this morning. As long as you don’t have any significant ongoing symptoms (eg fever) , you are free to come out of isolation. If you still have significant symptoms, you should remain isolated and seek medical advice..

Just waiting on DD2 to finish her isolation... she's day 7 and still a blazing positive.

Where did you read that article please? I am day 10 but still showing positive- albeit slightly fainter than yesterday.

@Titsywoo @Bizawit But surely that doesn’t make sense now. You can leave isolation early if you have a -ve on days 6 and 7 but if it’s +ve you stay in isolation. However come day 10 it ends regardless. How is that logically? Xmas Confused

EmBeEmBe · 26/12/2021 13:34

Day 7 here. Still very positive. Very glum about it. Not sleeping well. I wonder if that's the reason I'm not better yet.

The theory is that after 10 days you are very unlikely to still be infectious (unless you have significant symptoms- eg fever- cough doesn’t count). However, lots if people stop being infectious even earlier than this. Having a negative test is an indication that you are no longer infectious, even if the full 10 days haven’t passed.

I tested positive on the 22nd with a PCR but still getting negative LFT tests. My OH tested positive 18th and is still getting positive LFT now, so day 8.

☹️☹️. I feel you. Same here. I’m not sleeping well either- 6 week old baby mostly to blame for that 🙈
