Partner has tested positive on a lateral flow today, all plans out the window. No Xmas food in and my god I am bored already! On a good note kids are happy playing with their toys.

Do you have Gin or Wine ?

Don't get completely plastered, but a little bit of (alcohol induced) merriment might help!

bonetiredwithtwins · 25/12/2021 12:50

Why don't you have Xmas food in? Were you planning on going to get it today or something?!

Sinner10 · 25/12/2021 12:51

I do, plenty of it 🤣

Hopefully someone will deliver you dinner 😕

LynxGiftsetAndSocks · 25/12/2021 12:54

I thought everyone had an emergency dinner bought in?

I was expecting shortages in the shops due to that

Beans on toast on Xmas day would suit me though, I'm easily pleased

It's crap isn't it ,my children tested positive at the start of the week so our Xmas plans are also cancelled,we did at least have time to get stuff in for Xmas dinner , thankfully

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 25/12/2021 13:14

Can't the people who you were going to bring you your dinner? That's what my mum is doing as we're now all isolating for an operation I'm having new years eve. Granted she basically lives next door

Notimetolive · 25/12/2021 13:16

My mum and dad both tested positive today. No symptoms. Only tested as they were going to an hotel for a family meal. £120 that they have now lost.
Luckily they did have a back up plan, so they can still enjoy themselves.

Holbrook9 · 25/12/2021 13:18

Same here, all ill. In casual clothes, had oven food for lunch. No booze. Very different Christmas! Hopefully be able to have all the food and drink another day when feel less ill

Jjjayfee · 25/12/2021 13:18

Join the club. Happy Christmas. Cheese on toast with a sprig of Holly anyone?

BigGreen · 25/12/2021 13:36

Happened to us yesterday just as we were about to jump in the car to my sister's 😭 Just enough time to defrost the emergency chicken. My sympathies 💐 We appear to have a very mild dose (so far) so grateful for that. Hope you do too.

starrynight19 · 25/12/2021 13:38

My sil and niece both tested positive today. They are staying at home now and having an Indian takeaway.

It's been offered but it's a 2hour round trip so seems a little unfair to let them do them, though I think they still will.

To be honest it isn't the worst thing in the world just disappointing when you plan things, it may of also been the last Xmas with the wider family due to life limiting diagnosis. I think this is the upsetting part of it.

Dd test positive on a PCR this morning. Ds then tested positive on the lateral flow. PCRs done and now isolating until the 3rd as test and protect have been in touch. (Rules different in Scotland).

We were hosting so it sucks.

Rubbish isn't in. I hope the time passes quick for you.

Me too, felt like I was getting a cold Wednesday evening, test with a lateral flow then and negative. Tested this morning just because we were planning on seeing a few people and positive. No cough, no temp and got my sense of smell. All I have is a bit of a blocked nose.

Just gone and got me and my toddler a pcr this afternoon as he has the same cold which I thought was just a cold. So festive!

Yep, sounds the same as my partner. Negative on Thursday.

Same here. DH tested positive on a LFT this morning. He got a PCR test appointment shortly afterwards and we’re waiting for the result.

Fortunately, our Xmas was already ruined as my DM (understandably and fortunately, as it turns out) didn’t want to come down to London on a crowded train.

We had all been isolating since Wednesday last week, WFH and only popping out to walk the dog/go for a jog. So, I have no idea where DH got it from - he thinks from a delivery driver breathing on him.

Wow that is unlucky, it shows doesn't it, you can take all the precautions and still end up getting it.
