Had a PCR two days ago as have a cold and wanted confirmation before Christmas with all my family. Came back void the next morning. Went for another PCR as soon as I could which was yesterday afternoon and I just feel like I know it won't be back in time for when we were supposed to head down to my families tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong but I feel like I'm just sat around staring at my phone waiting to see if my Christmas is cancelled or not Sad anyone in the same boat Sad

@rosesarereddish

I would of put money on it just being a cold. I was genuinely going to go tomorrow if the results weren't back. Im so shocked. My Christmas is cancelled 😭
I am so sorry OP. Do you have food in? Can you video call family? Sending very unmumsnetty hugs.

I'm lucky after all my moaning turns out I'm negative so feeling very lucky right now.

Still waiting on mine. The girls at work are raging. I did tell them to get a PCR themselves but they didn't.
Sucks that I was the only one who didn't go on the works Christmas party and am the one with two positive LFTs.

I was going to say that if they come back inconclusive it's normally because you have covid in your system but it's not developed enough in your body to be clear on the test. So a PCR a day later will show positive, which is what happened here. Sorry about your Christmas, hope you get better soon. At least you tested beforehand and didn't put anyone else at risk.

Both me and my ds have had inconclusive PCRs and the second ones came back negative.

So sorry - I hope you don’t feel too poorly

Oh In so sorry to hear that, do you have food etc to do Christmas at home?

ChippyDucks150 · 24/12/2021 08:33

This is rotten OP, I hope you're feeling ok and manage to have an ok Christmas in the meantime.

gogohm · 24/12/2021 08:47

Hugs @rosesarereddish

Hope you have enough food in, there's still active coronavirus support groups in many areas if you need help, I'm about to pick up shopping for two isolating families as there's no deliveries available (too rural for Deliveroo)

Livelifeinthebuslane · 24/12/2021 09:19

DDs took 36 hours, positive but we knew that from her LFT. I'm still negative at the mo but it will just be the two of us now for Christmas.

Had mine yesterday at 10am and result back today at 13.00.
