Are you really prepared to take every single vaccine

It worries me that we may have to keep having vaccines going forward. I’m due my booster which I will take but I’m hearing that AZ are in the process of tweaking the current vaccine to combat the new strain. So we are then required to take another booster. Many variants can crop up, suppose another one does very soon. I’m concerned about the number of vaccines we could be taking. Is anyone else? And no I’m not an anti vaxer.

80% of those serious ill with covid are overweight/obese
Also many others taking up non covid health resources have illnesses related to obesity
It is absolutely relevant. I don't know why people are in denial about this simple fact

Obesity does make you more likely to be seriously ill and die if you do get Covid. It does not, however, make you more likely to get it in the first place, or to pass it on.

Also for most people, drastically losing weight is much more difficult than getting vaccinated.

By all means, try to keep a healthy weight, but it's not a reason for not getting vaccinated.

TSSDNCOP · 28/11/2021 19:02

I will have every vaccine going.

My kids and aged parent and every single person I know has had the vaccine.

I would have volunteered to test the vaccine.

I thank god every day we live in a country with the good fortune to have the vaccine.

Lillith111 · 28/11/2021 19:02

This x100 along with your last post about reducing risk. A seatbelt doesn't mean you might not get killed. But it bloody well reduces the risk and is not a large imposition

Yuledo · 28/11/2021 19:02

Of course. It’s our best hope to return to normality.

ddl1 · 28/11/2021 19:03

No more clot shots for me.
Sorry if that upsets the Covid cultists 🥶

You do realize that you're much more likely to get clots as a result of Covid itself?

NC180 · 28/11/2021 19:04

@Lillith111 I propose that everyone who is at high risk of getting seriously ill, thus burdening the NHS/healthcare system gets themselves vaccinated or isolates and everyone else does what they choose. The healthcare system was never at risk of being burdened by children and healthy young adults who caught Covid. The serious cases amongst this population were few and far between. These people should never have been forced to vaccinate IMO.

Just like the Flu, let those at risk of burdening their healthcare system and those who feel vulnerable take their vaccines and let everyone else just live their lives and focus on staying healthy. If you're vaccinated, you should feel protected from getting sick, no matter who you're coming into contact with.

What’s a covid cultist when it’s at home?

Ok take your chance with the clots that happen to covid patients. There is a greater chance of a clot with covid, but you carry on calling them clot shots if you think it’s so funny!
NC180 · 28/11/2021 19:07

@Lillith111 but you don't wear a seatbelt when you're not in a car.... If you're in a car, you're at risk, you should wear a seatbelt. If you're old, or poorly, you're at risk, you should get the vaccine. If you're not old or poorly and therefore barely at risk, why bother. You're asking people who are walking around in the street feeling pretty safe to wear seatbelts.

Lillith111 · 28/11/2021 19:07

Sorry this was @TheElvishQueen

And @ddl1 I was agreeing with you on everything. My point about it being like flu is that we dampen it with vaccines as opposed to it being immediately eradicated

A study found that being obese made people covid-19 'superspreaders'. Is there a more recent study to debunk this?

Ah we're back to the shutting the vulnerable out of society crap are we? Nobody can ever explain how I do that whilst living with a primary school child and attending regular hospital appointments for treatment.

WhoWants2Know · 28/11/2021 19:10

Yep. Not an issue at all

Lillith111 · 28/11/2021 19:10

@NC180 you say kids are not in the car - how do you know? The virus may have long term effects on kids. Way more so than the virus. And we do things to protect others. Like sit in the front seat. Why bother??? I don't see it as a large imposition to protect others

No, you live in a country that has selfishly decided not to help vaccinate the developing world, UK has exported 11m of the 100m vaccines BJ promised he would send.

We could do both, boosters and export.

UK isn't alone of course and its why, if not now, we will all end up back where we were in March 2020.

BlueFlavour · 28/11/2021 19:11

@NC180
I got vaccinated for myself but also to help stop covid spreading to more vulnerable people.
It is the right thing to do.

NC180 · 28/11/2021 19:13

@BlueFlavour unfortunately, Covid is still spreading very rapidly amongst vaccinated people. You've been duped.

It's spreads MUCH slower

How do you know which is best for the kids yet? We only have a year of data on the vaccines. Who knows what the side effects of hijacking a very healthy and developing immune system to 'prevent' (rubbish) against something that poses very little risk to them might be. They are at far reduced risk of catching Covid than the rest of the population. Why do you think children weren't forced to wear masks (seatbelts). They weren't forced to wear seatbelts because they were pretty safe!

Nancydrawn · 28/11/2021 19:19

Sure thing!

@Lillith111 "it spreads much slower" - do you have an undisputed scientific source for this fact?

I suspect you're wasting your time here.
Lillith111 · 28/11/2021 19:22

@nc180 how do you know covid poses no risk to kids??? For all you know in 10 years covid might cause major issues in kids. Why do you think the vaccine is going to have more long term health risk than a virus when virus have lots of evidence to cause long term health issues. Getting covid could cause your kids major health issues. Why don't you worry about the long term effect of that?

TSSDNCOP · 28/11/2021 19:23

Well thank you @Octavia174 you couldn't have just let me answer the actual question without being a Pollyanna?

Start another thread if you have a different question.

@BlueFlavour

What’s a covid cultist when it’s at home?
That poster uses it repeatedly. Perhaps she'll define it for us.
