Are you really prepared to take every single vaccine

It worries me that we may have to keep having vaccines going forward. I’m due my booster which I will take but I’m hearing that AZ are in the process of tweaking the current vaccine to combat the new strain. So we are then required to take another booster. Many variants can crop up, suppose another one does very soon. I’m concerned about the number of vaccines we could be taking. Is anyone else? And no I’m not an anti vaxer.

I have the flu vaccine every year so 2hy not ??

MatildaIThink · 28/11/2021 12:45

Why would anyone sane be concerned about vaccines or boosters?

TomelettewithGreggs · 28/11/2021 12:47

Yes, I am prepared to take any vaccines recommended. But I am not British and look at things very differently because in my home country people are dying from lack of boosters. I take my flu vax every year. I also take tetanus boosters in my home country.

Viviennemary · 28/11/2021 12:48

I had the booster and had a horrific headache and was extremely tired and very very sore arm. The way I feel at the moment is no more vaccines for me.

GalesThisMorning · 28/11/2021 12:49

No more so than any other vaccine I've taken. Why would I be? Also, surely if you've had your first 2 you might as well get the rest?

Cornettoninja · 28/11/2021 12:51

Yup. If I’m offered it, I’ll take it.

Vaccines are a wonderful advancement in preventative medicine and I fully intend to take advantage of living in an era we have the knowledge to make use of them.

I’m not a believer in medicine for medicines sake but vaccines are as sensible to me as putting on a seat belt or washing my hands.

Movinghouseatlast · 28/11/2021 12:51

Yes I am. I have the flu vaccine every year anyway.

Sprostongreen21 · 28/11/2021 12:52

I’m happy to have a booster each year of its effective just like the flu one. I work in healthcare and I’ve seen the worst of covid so that sways my choices.

Sparklfairy · 28/11/2021 12:52

The flu vaccine is available yearly and was i think one year only 40%(?) effective because of a particularly elusive strain. This is the nature of viruses, they mutate and its not unusual for us to be one step behind.

Take your booster(s) or take your chances 🤷‍♀️

Sparklingbrook · 28/11/2021 12:52

Yes, I'll have every single vaccine. I have a sore arm and feel a bit tired after my booster of Pfizer yesterday, and I had my flu jab about a month ago.
It didn't take long to get a jab.

kimlo · 28/11/2021 12:52

yes, why not? I'm no more concerned about that than the flu jab.

fortifiedwithtea · 28/11/2021 12:54

I will take every booster going. Five people live in my household, many of us on the vulnerable list 4/5 of us had the 3rd booster already

Shitfuckcommaetc · 28/11/2021 12:54

If the frequency is a vaccine a year. Then fine, boosters every few months? I'm not sure about that. I've felt like death, and had to have time off work after every dose so far

saltedcaramel1 · 28/11/2021 12:54

If am offered, no issue in having further vaccines.

It will eventually become an annual vaccine for certain groups just as flu is.

For now totally happy to take up whatever in recommended in terms of public health. Am 30 so prob wouldn't be priortised which have no isse with.

Whyevencare · 28/11/2021 12:54

I'll take my chances Wink

Haven't had a vaccine since the rubella one at school and I'm 50 now.

Campfirewood · 28/11/2021 12:56

I get every vaccine I can! I have traveled a fair amount, so get the works... yellow fever, typhoid... etc
I basically like to prevent disease as far as possible anyway.

Missmissmiiiiiiiiisss · 28/11/2021 12:57

I won’t take any vaccine (I haven’t taken one in the past) but likely I would keep having any boosters. I think it’s about both the individual concern for COVID but also the community benefits to having a vaccinated buffer for anyone whose immune system just isn’t producing a strong response.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/11/2021 12:57

Why would it worry you if you've already had two? What's the difference? I don't understand the logid there.

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 28/11/2021 12:58

Of course Confused

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/11/2021 12:58

Logic.

Angel2702 · 28/11/2021 12:59

I’d have one every week if it stopped me having to be separated from family again.

Bobholll · 28/11/2021 13:00

Yes, vaccines are perfectly safe for 99.9% of people. That said, as a healthy 30 year (bar asthma), I don’t know if I feel the need to be boosted constantly. But once year is no biggie. I have my flu jab every year!

PurpleDaisies · 28/11/2021 13:01

Yes. It’s no less safe than when I had the first two.

3peassuit · 28/11/2021 13:03

I’ll take any going. I need to be around to take care of a disabled daughter and a young grandchild. I can’t risk becoming seriously ill.

PAFMO · 28/11/2021 13:03

Yes.
Had my booster this morning, will have as many as are needed.
Had 3 day monster headache after second dose of AZ in May but it's a small price to pay.
