Which would you choose?

And the other point is the staff in the vaccine centres are not always sure who is eligible for a booster. Certainly where I am it's not a clear message. The invite letters are for "winter vaccine". Ie flu and "if eligible " you get offered a booster. You don't know prior whether you will get one or two vaccines. The guidance is woolly here

PrincessNutNuts · 16/11/2021 21:17

Mask wearing is still pretty common in my local area. The local businesses have signs up saying things like "Family run business. Please wear a mask to help us stay open."

There has been a lot of research on compliance with covid measures including masks:

who wear masks tend to be more empathic [24], more conform to societal norms [25, 26], more reliant on reasoning rather than emotions [27], and more willing to re-establish a sense of control, as people reportedly feel relief from anxiety when wearing masks [25]. On the other hand, people who avoid endorsing or complying with prevention measures, including mask wearing, tend to be more risk-taking, callous and dishonest [28, 29] and even exhibit more hypermasculinity [30] and so-called dark traits (e.g., psychopathy) [31, 32].

Haha what a load of pseudo bonkers bumpf.

Dark traits what are they?

Funny, people will quote anything.

Is mask wearing at the high percentage across the population as suggested in polls?

@tigger1001

"Well I'm not in charge *@tigger1001*

But I would imagine "fully vaccinated" would mean "as fully vaccinated as you can be."

So if you have eligible for your booster for a while but haven't taken it up you're nice green vaccine pass would go red.

If you're not eligible for a booster or a a second jab or a first jab then they couldn't count it as if you were, could they"

And all I can say is thank Christ for that!!

One big thing you missed. Covid status, certainly where I am, isnt updating for boosters currently. So if someone has had 3 jags, it shows 2....

I didn't see if you posted a response to this yesterday but would love to know your views on the fact other places in the uk still have face mask mandates and covid passports yet the case rate in England per 100k is lower. Why? If these measures are so effective why is it England case rate is currently lower? Not checked it today to be fair but that was the state of play yesterday.

Well according to the official case tally only about 9.7 million people in the U.K. have had covid. And 59 million haven't. And hardly anyone has had it more than once. None of these things are accurate.

ZOE, REACT and ONS regularly estimate prevalence as much higher than the detected cases.

The official case tally drops for many reasons that have nothing to do with less covid.

The regular one is less testing.

The number of tests conducted drops in the school holidays unless there are big sporting fixtures - and so does the official tally of detected cases.

Once tests are no longer free testing rates will plummet and so will the official tally.

The official tally of detected cases dropped dramatically for weeks in the West Country recently due to the Immensa Lab Scandal. But actual covid was rife.

If they were to bring this kind of covid pass system in it would cause W stampede for boosters and you might be glad you did.

I doubt it, I don't really go out in the winter months to use a pass, I don't work either so not really a problem,

ExceptionalAssurance · 16/11/2021 21:36

If not discussing non-compliance as opposed to actually having compliance is your barometer for relevance Princess, without even any analysis of the differences in the societies you're comparing, you need a new one.

tigger1001 · 16/11/2021 21:38

Love how you love stats when they back your argument up yet less so when they don't.

The cases in the last week per 100k - lowest out of the uk - England, with 364 then Scotland 384 then Northern Ireland 496 and the highest is wales with 501 per 100k

That doesn't really support vaccine passports or face coverings as being hugely successful.

In face they have been "so successful" in Scotland they want to increase them..... I wonder how many businesses will struggle or finish completely.

MercyBooth · 16/11/2021 22:08

Ive been trying to access my second vaccine for two months. Ive posted why on here.

Got told by someone i know that her daughter had to travel 81 miles to access her vaccine or lose her job in a care home. 81 miles. On a care home wage. Why arent we hearing about this. Instead of the lazy assumptions coming from certain posters.

You need to fucking start by making the fucking vaccine ACCESSIBLE

MercyBooth · 16/11/2021 22:13

To clarify i think people should have the choice.

I KNEW the Government would never be able to do the vaccines logistically again and again which is why the threats have ramped up. To try and cover the fact that some of us CANT access it. And yet people on here who claim authority (pardon the pun it was intended) on all things Covid seem not to know anything about the problems on the ground. Like accessibility.

MercyBooth · 16/11/2021 22:15

and then go straight for the authoritarian approach

XenoBitch · 16/11/2021 22:19

@MercyBooth please try and get your story out there. I would think something like TalkRadio would be interested in it (but not James Whale at night!).

leafyygreens · 16/11/2021 22:23

@MercyBooth

How far are you being asked to travel to get your second jab? I'm sorry it's been so difficult to access.

I am based in the south-west where no-one that I know of has had issue finding a vaccine centre close that is doing moderna, and can only imagine the frustration.

MercyBooth · 16/11/2021 22:30

@XenoBitch I rang them yesterday but didnt get a call back.

@leafyygreens I really wouldnt have minded having Pfizer but the vaccine centre wouldnt do it. I tried twice. Nearest place from what i can tell is a £70 there and back taxi fare

I also have to pay for my own flu jab. (i have it at Boots every year) I pay £13 a fortnight for Nexium. (since Zantac was discontinued) my GP surgery is run by VC and are stressful to deal with.

It is frustrating and ive had enough and i really dont want to give it any more headspace. I think two months is long enough to have tried.

MercyBooth · 16/11/2021 22:32

I dont know how Whale gets away with shouting at people and hanging up on them
He would hate me because i dont fit his narrative.

XenoBitch · 16/11/2021 22:34

@MercyBooth

I dont know how Whale gets away with shouting at people and hanging up on them He would hate me because i dont fit his narrative.
He is a massive hypocrite. He says he wont wear a mask because he is double jabbed, yet months a go he was yelling at people not wearing them.
MercyBooth · 16/11/2021 22:39

Im in North Essex.

Got told by someone i know that her daughter had to travel 81 miles to access her vaccine or lose her job in a care home. 81 miles. On a care home wage. i stood in Sainsburys this afternoon and laughed at the headline on the i paper and thats how the conversation started with the woman who told me this. Its really really not on for the Government to make threats at all but to do it to cover up things like this is despicable.

I can't hope to match the posting rate of some of you, but I do my best to keep up with replies to me on my own threads.

I regularly bang out three replies in two minutes while boiling the kettle and filling the sink.

What is it that you think I should respond to in a more timely manner?

You might need to rephrase that because I'm not sure which post of mine it's referring to.
