Did anyone feel sick?

God I feel so sick & my tummy feels like it’s churning. DS tested positive on Friday and the rest of us are waiting pcr results.

I have felt fine until this afternoon when I suddenly started feeling really nauseous. No cough or headache or sore throat. Little bit achey & trembly.

Anyone else felt like this & any suggestions to deal with the hideous nausea?!

My mother did (she was 73 and wasn't vaccinated at the time) it was her main symptom

Didn't last too long x

Littlemiss74 · 24/10/2021 19:26

Mum was fine - she was never actually sick
Hope it passes for you soon x

Littlemiss74 · 24/10/2021 19:29

@Remmy123 thank you me too - how long did your mum feel poorly for? It’s so hard trying to look after dc’s feeling like this, dh feels rough too with aches & coughing fits!

My daughter felt sick after her third Covid and flu vaccine. (one in each arm) (NHS worker).

vickyc90 · 24/10/2021 19:44

My parents have both just had covid (double vaccinated), dad had no symptoms, mum was convinced she had noro and covid for the first 48hours.

Ashard20 · 24/10/2021 20:01

I did. I thought I had food poisoning. It was my first symptom, just like you described. 36 hours later I got a positive LFT. followed by positive PCR. It was awful. The cough didn't start until about three days later.

roofingexpert · 24/10/2021 20:06

I do right now... pretty sure I have it. Trembly, sore throat, sneezing, nausea, head ache, fatigue... much worse in the afternoon and evening. No cough though or temperate or loss of smell

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 24/10/2021 20:08

I did, and I had an upset tummy. The nausea didn't last long at all, but the other lasted a good few days.

RavensWig · 24/10/2021 20:10

Yes, I was horribly nauseated, but about halfway through my 10 day stint - it didn't last too long, I tried to sip cool water and doze through it. I'm afraid the diarrhoea was worse.

I hope you all get over it quickly. Flowers

steppemum · 24/10/2021 20:10

I had it last week. I'm double jabbed
Felt really really terribly sick for 36 hours. Threw up every 4 hours for 24 hours.
because of sickness I couldn't keep down any liquid, and I also had blinding headache and shivers, and couldn't keep down any paracetamol.

After 36 hours the sickness eased and I could take paracetamol, and it made a huge difference.

cough came one week later.

Littlemiss74 · 24/10/2021 20:26

Thank you all - have to say I’m feeling pretty anxious right now as I was in the vulnerable category. I had my booster thankfully last Monday but I’m not sure that would have taken effect yet..
Feeling a bit scared by what may come

I felt sick and couldn't eat anything for about 12 days. Lost 10lbs and ended up very weak. The tiny amounts I forced myself just refused to stay in my system. It was the worst symptoms for me. Hope you don't have it that bad.

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 24/10/2021 20:28

Yes a few students at work started off with stomach ache and nausea.

Aliceinivfland · 24/10/2021 20:39

I had terrible nausea and threw up every day for 4days. I lost 11lbs in 6 days. DH had nausea but wasn't actually sick.

Littlemiss74 · 24/10/2021 20:44

Oh gosh it sounds quite a common symptom then, I had no idea!

TCMcK · 24/10/2021 20:53

I did, I went off tea & coffee too. The smell of food made me want to vomit 🤮 although I was never sick. I hardly ate anything. It reminded me of having morning sickness.

XenoBitch · 24/10/2021 20:54

Same. I had this recently, but I never tested. Assumed it was a gastro bug. I have a friend who has just come down with the same symptoms, so might advise he gets tested.
Littlemiss74 · 24/10/2021 20:55

Oh my gosh @TCMcK that is exactly what I just said to DH! It does feel like morning sickness but no chance of that! My tummy just feels in knots.
The anxiety probably doesn’t help.

Had Covid and the nausea came on day 3 and only lasted one morning but it was horrible. Get plenty of rest. Lying down helped keep the nausea at bay.

Littlemiss74 · 24/10/2021 20:59

I just want to go to my bed but I have been sleeping on the sofa as DH was isolating in the bedroom waiting for his pcr result which he’s just got and is positive. I only got my pcr done today so was planning another night on the sofa until mine is confirmed one way or another. But you know when you feel rough, you just want your own bed🙁

@Ashard20 how long did the nausea last for, the whole time?

OP posts:
OldWivesTale · 24/10/2021 22:10

My dd had violent sickness and diarrhoea; we thought it was food poisoning.

Littlemiss74 · 24/10/2021 22:12

@OldWivesTale how long after was it your dd got a positive? How long did the sickness last?

NorthSouthcatlady · 24/10/2021 22:15
