School vaccines cancelled

Our school was supposed to administer in two weeks but we've been informed that the NHS is rung behind with the vaccine programme.

Anyone else in ether same boat? Had any schools completed theirs?

Yes ds should have had his two weeks ago, it was rearranged to tomorrow but unfortunately he caught Covid in the meantime.

And48 · 06/10/2021 22:13

Ours aren't due to start until end of November.

Bakingboy · 06/10/2021 22:17

For my sons the vaccine team turned up at the school and then released that, on the one day they had on site, they could get through about 40% of the children. No word on when the rest will get the jab.

SinoohXaenaHide · 06/10/2021 22:21

Ours was scheduled for last week but was cancelled due to staff shortages. Has been rescheduled for next week. God knows whether it will happen then.

OxanaVorontsova · 06/10/2021 22:27

Had ours last week took 4 days to get through them all, very slow process

CinderFuckingRe11a · 06/10/2021 22:28

Heard absolutely zero about it so far!

Snap. Not been mentioned at all.

My sons school are due to immunise in November but we shall see.

Dd got hers yesterday (toddler).

noblegiraffe · 06/10/2021 23:01

Cancelled this week due to staff shortages. No idea when they'll be done. Boris talking about world-beating vaccine roll-out programmes. Hmm

Timeisavirtue · 06/10/2021 23:04

DS is due his on Monday, I’m wondering if they will cancel now if they are behind....

REDHERO · 06/10/2021 23:06

Ours was postponed due to the vaccine running out. That's what they said to the children. Will be back when more supplies

TenFlix · 06/10/2021 23:09

So, have any 12-16 kids received their Pfizer as part of the school vaccine rollout?

Ours were 2 weeks ago. Different year groups on different days.

tunnocksreturns2019 · 06/10/2021 23:13

School on the same street had theirs last week. Our school’s were due Monday next week, cancelled for now due to staff shortages

bestbefore · 06/10/2021 23:13

Our happened but some didn't get done, including my ds. I emailed and they said they would be back. Didn't seem v organised, would have been better I think if they'd asked the school to provide some volunteer helpers, a few of us helped with the testing and could go back to help organise the kids - not do the vaccine but do the support perhaps

TenFlix · 06/10/2021 23:15

I suppose at least more kids will be vaccinated if they delay the programme as more kids will have turned 12 and be eligible, so that's good. I'd hoped we could get ours out of the way sooner than later.

My nephew had his this week, Pfizer.

Your toddler has had the Covid vaccine? Or do you mean flu jab?
noblegiraffe · 06/10/2021 23:19

You can't have the vaccine if you've just had covid and the more it's delayed, the more kids will be in that position.

MaderiaCycle · 06/10/2021 23:34

Walk in clinics here.

Yes, ds had his yesterday at school. Got fingers crossed for dd on friday that it all goes ahead as 10% of her year group are currently off with covid and theyve just brought back masks..
Explosivefarts · 06/10/2021 23:51

Walk in clinics here.
They closed our walk in clinics here such a shame.
Donatella · 07/10/2021 02:24

My 13yr old had hers last week, and my 10yr old had her flu vaccine yesterday (which was handily her first day back at school after being off with covid!). So no delays here (Surrey)
