Lots of cars coming out of the test centre

Went shopping yesterday and there is a Covid testing site opposite. There was a constant stream of cars coming out, more than in lock down.
I’m just a bit shocked at it.

As a 7 day average, 6.9 percent of PCR tests taken are positive, this is up slightly but still down by 10 percent on 4 weeks ago.

So over 90 percent of those going for tests are getting negative results.

Latest Ons modelling shows daily incidence as being down 20 percent on 4 weeks ago.

Better people get tested than not bother

CurlyhairedAssassin · 03/10/2021 16:58

DH and I have COVID at the moment. Both double jabbed. Teen DSs have both had the symptoms we've had, and tested negative on both laterals and PCRs. Go figure. I don't know what the fuck's going on, but no wonder there are so many people going for tests, it's hard to tell who's got COVID and who hasn't. There's no pattern to it all like there was.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 03/10/2021 16:59

Oh, and both teens are not double jabbed. DS17 as had one jab a few weeks ago. DS15 has had no jab.

Maybe they want to go on holiday.

BikeRunSki · 04/10/2021 07:51

Maybe they are being sensible and confining whether their symptoms are a cold or Covid?
There seem to be a lot of colds going round at the moment. Fresher’s flu season!!

HermioneWeasley · 04/10/2021 07:56

What’s your concern OP?

Most people who get it aren’t seriously ill. Hospitalisations have plateaued at 800 a day - well below the best case scenario predicted.

This is what living with an endemic virus looks like
