Have I really dodged a house full of covid or is there still time??

DH and I are both doubles jabbed. He test positive five days after my DC but I’m still negative via pcr and lft 🎉. Have I managed to dodge it, or is there still time?!

I’d be keen to hear your experiences.

I might add they are both largely fine.

Dh and both dc got covid and I managed to avoid it. I took pcr which was negative. I am double jabbed.

I got it, my son got it a week later, my husband and other child never got it.

It took us about 5 days each to pass it on in our family. I was in one of those 'test to release' studies so I was doing daily tests (but staying at home as much as I could).

Really. It’s been 72 hours now since DH tested positive.

I'm in the same position as you OP. Have had covid in the house for 11 days now (DD followed 6 days later by DH). Me and DS1 and DD2 are still symptom-free, negative LFTs and I've had 2 neg PCRs as well. Keeping everything crossed that we don't all just get it consecutively. Would that happen or can we start to think we might have escaped??!!! I am fully vaccinated but the kids aren't and we've done no social distancing at home - DD was breathing in my face while she slept in my bed full of fever...!

Following with interest. DD1 tested positive 8 days ago - so far none of the rest of us (me, DD2 and DH) have caught it. Negative PCRs and daily negative LFTS. I’m wondering if we’ve dodged it or it’ll pounce just as DD1s isolation finishes

It’s a funny one isn’t it. I’ve had similar symptoms to the other two (tired, snuffly nose) but then again that could just be a coincidental cold / other virus.

I've had a sore throat, mild headaches Gettingonabitnow. Have been wondering if it's my body fighting it off without actually getting covid or, you know, just a mild cold?!

It’s a weird one.
DD got it last week, testing positive a week after her stepsister tested positive, but her dad (my ex) and his wife and their other daughter didn’t get it.
DH and I had neg PCR’s last week, but have done LFT today, both positive.
We were convinced it was a cold, as the symptoms aren’t Covid symptoms at all. It’s more like a head cold, very sniffly, like PP.

Really, so quite a while until you got it. I’m still going to do lfts for a few days I think, see if it comes up.

Am in the same situation. DD felt unwell on Thurs, I went and got her from school. Lateral flow was negative. Fri morning it was positive, confirmed by PCR sat. My son had it in July and no one else caught it. So far my PCR has come back negative and so has my son's. Been doing lateral flows everyday and all have been negative. My son is absolutely full of head cold with similar symptoms to my daughter yet he's negative. Really doesn't make sense does it?!

I've mentioned this on a few different threads now.
Dd1 got it and about three days into her symptoms I got weird eyes, watery... Mild gastric issues... Weepy...

But that was it? Maybe that was the immune response?

Then dd2 got it but 5 days after the Dd1 ten day isolation?

So I'm praying I don't come down with it but I also gets oodles of exposure at work.

(also of course negative pcr and I'm doing daily lat flows as I work in busy office)

My son test positive on Friday and my other son and husband tested positive on Saturday. X2 pcr and x2 LF and I'm still negative today

Last October I had covid. Dh and Dd, who didn't isolate from me, didn't catch it. It spread quickly at my school, with most staff catching it but I didn't manage to spread it at home.

Hi, I am in the same position as you op.

We are now 7 days after dc was positive (9 days after symptoms).

Dh was positive 5 days after dc (7 days after symptoms)

Despite being breathed over by both I am negative as are older dcs.

I was quite relaxed when it was just dc but admit to being more tense and anxious now dh has it as I feel I’m a ticking time bomb. It’s also stressful as I feel I’ve gone back to day 2 again when I thought it was nearly over.

The anxiety is not helping as I keep thinking I have it. Tips on how to relax a bit would be welcome.

We are late 40’s and double jabbed. I am nhs and have avoided it to date despite being redeployed to a covid ward for a short time. That was harrowing and this has brought it back a bit. I think I have a touch of health anxiety which I usually keep well controlled!

DC x 3 all got covid. All out of isolation now and DH and I did not catch it. Double vaxxed BUT dd who has been back at school 2 days has been pinged by test and trace!!! I take it she doesn’t have to self isolate!

My DD caught it and I tested positive 9 days after her first symptom. I’m currently on day 8 of isolation and so far DH and 2 DS are negative/symptom free.

We had it at day 7, day 9, day 5, and day 8 after dd1 caught it, each time we thought we were almost done fingers crossed for you but don't count your chickens

Can anyone remember the rules when we had to isolate when a household member tested positive? Was it for 10:days or 2 weeks after first symptoms? And if another household member tested positive, did the isolation start again for the others or did it stay from the same date?

In Scotland, it is 10 days and I think the isolation date was from most recent positive test. However, now in Scotland since 16th August, if you are fully double vaccinated or under 18 as long as you test negative on a pcr test you can come out of isolation.

OP, I honestly don't know but I am in a similar situation just now and from what I have gathered in my 'research' is incubation is up to 14 days so you could take it any time in that period. However, I know lots of people who had covid in the household but never caught it so fingers crossed for us.

My twins have covid just now, DH and I are double jabbed and had colds for past week and both negative. However I have an older child who has been in close contact with his siblings all week and is testing negative and had no cold or symptoms. He has asthma so I am very nervous.

DD2 had it first, 4 days later DD1, 3 or maybe 4 days later DH brushed off the dressing gown of doom. I have stayed covid free (daily lft) despite being the go to parent for the kids lol. Kids had a mild fever for a few hours so dutifully did lft and was very surprised to get positive (followed by positive pcr).

It’s now been 8 days since DH got it so I reckon I might be ok! He seems to have an horrific sore throat and general fatigue/aches but no sniffles/head cold and no cough or wheezing that I’ve noticed.
