Are there many people in hospital due to vaccine injury?

This is what an MP said in the parliament- of course doesn’t go into detail which hospital etc but can an MP just make statements like this without checking the facts? If they did check the facts then are there lot more vaccine injuries?

Statement Made:

Our hospitals have a large number of in-patients who are there only because they took the vaccine. It is causing a lot of angst for consultants across the country. That is why the Government should say now that they are going to look at these issues off their own bat without being required to by Parliament, and that they will carry out a review, which could also include assessing costs and benefits.

CC has been vocal about his opinions on vaccines since they first started the vaccination programme. Probably gives him something to do now he can't support upskirting any more.

It's a bit of a non story really, the initial move is to add the Covid vaccines to the legislation for vaccine damage lawsuits etc. Which is right and proper.
CC is just using a logical step (add new vaccine to list of already existing vaccines) and twisting it to suit his own agenda.
I'm sure if there were wards full of Covid vaccine damaged people our resident anti-vaxxers on MN would have told us about each and every one.

He is fucking useless.

He is my MP and here in Christchurch there are very many scared older people and very old people.

CC has wanted to restart the economy for ages and this scares a lot of people yet they still would vote for him tomorrow.

I doubt it - I've seen the odd patient with a DVT but certainly not many in patients

As an MP when you make statements in parliament which would be defamation elsewhere you are protected, but I'm sure that they have been told off for misleading parliament where facts are incorrect. But maybe that's only the government? "A large number" is a bit woolly so he's probably being deliberately vague. Sounds like a fool.

"Being in hospital because you took the vaccine" could cover a lot of things other than actual vaccine injury though. I ended up being admitted overnight because I had a weird headache after my AZ jab. I wouldn't have even contacted my GP under normal circumstances - it wasn't that bad at all. But the nurse who gave the jag said I had to contact the GP if the headache had certain characteristics, which it did. And the GP sent me to A and E, who couldn't discharge me until they'd done certain tests, because they had a protocol for "headaches after AZ". Understandably, given the blood clot thing.

I was fine, discharged by lunch the next day and felt a right fool taking up a bed for the mildest headache imaginable! But I definitely wouldn't have been there if I hadn't had the vaccine, and they presumably wouldn't have admitted me if I hadn't had the vaccine. So though in my case it was overkill, I'm kind of glad that the messaging is "get anything vaccine related checked out" - which may indeed involve people being admitted to hospital.

Not at my hospital (collating such data is part of my departments job). It's a large hospital trust in the NW.

Some MPs (many, actually) have an agenda. This one happens to be highly inflammatory. Facts don’t bother Chope at all.

@pontypridd she’s in Australia? Although there are quite a number of Australian media personnel who have been affected by the vaccine- there was another male news reader from Australia who was hospitalised as well…

Australia is much better at acknowledging deaths and adverse events from the vaccines than the UK. If their death rate is correct then we will have more www.tga.gov.au/periodic/covid-19-vaccine-weekly-safety-report-02-09-2021

I don't know that MP and he may well be as mad as a box of frogs but I do agree with the point he is making. The UK is sweeping it under the carpet like a dirty little secret to the total detriment of the families affected

There are lots or videos on social media where MPs have lied. There is no consequence to their lies.

Probably pretty hard to find an MP who hasn't lied. Not everyone lies outright, lots will selectively present evidence that supports their agenda while pretending contradictory evidence doesn't occur. It's just as much of a lie, maybe even more so because they are presenting it as irrefutable truth.

well if you go by mumsnet standards the ‘do not question anything about the vaccine else I’ll chew your head off’ stance is pretty strong

You cannot for the love of god ask anything here which questions the vaccine- you get posters coming at you in all directions!

I’m yet to have my second dose and I’m quite concerned- it feels like a decision between do you want a heart inflammation now with your second dose? Or maybe later with Covid?

Not much of a choice…
