Not covid but horrible cold 😔

Anyone else got a flu type virus at the mo? Myself and partner have it, awaiting pcr results but lat flows have all come back negative so it's not covid. But my god I feel rough! Can hardly move , no energy, banging headache, sore throat, runny nose, neck aches. Feel like a wimp if it's just a cold but it's really knocking me for six, I'm unable to work. Anyone else ??

You know lateral flows can't guarantee it isn't Covid, right? But yes, there are other unpleasant things going around! If you have flu (not a cold) you can't really work for a bit and even with a cold it's hard since no one wants to be near anyone else with those symptoms!

Yes I have this at the moment, feel awful, no covid symptoms and negative LFTs but feel terrible.

Same here, three of us in the house suffering and negative daily lateral flows all round. Awaiting PCR results. I’m a HCP and all colleagues and their families with COVID have had consistent positive lateral flows while symptomatic.

Yeah I've heard they aren't always accurate but for us both to test negative today I'm guessing it won't come back positive. I've had the flu jab so hoping it's not that and just a shitty virus/head Cold thing. So many bugs flying around ATM , only got over a d&v bug a few weeks back

Yes we've had this! Plus my son, his GF, my sister in law, all had terrible cold/flu type thing.

Headache, sore throat, cough and just feeling rough.

All our covid tests were negative. It's the worst cold I've had for a long time.

Yes. I've had a really vicious cold this week. Did PCR test on Monday and it was negative. Beginning to feel better now but really tired!

I had a runny nose and a sore throat. Positive LFt followed by positive PCR.
Now have full on 'official' symptoms as well as the others you describe :(

Same here , faint positive LFT on Sunday straight for PCR but negative PCR result Monday .. miserable

My DD, so so bungee up and terrible throat, then slight coughing - mainly due to snot I think. Negative lateral flow and negative PCR.

Me, I had COVID last year so doubt I have it again but I'm waiting on a PCR result too. Awful headaches, sore throat, cough and generally just feeling rubbish.

Yes. I had a number of positive lateral flow tests and negative pcr tests. Since then my son and his girlfriend have become quite unwell in the last 12 hours (coughs, temps-negative lft) tests tomorrow but.. Girlfriends parents have been unwell when I was and also tested negative when I did 🤷‍♀️

Myself and DD had this last week. Negative PCR tests. We both felt absolutely rotten and in fact she still isn't right

We've all got covid. I was getting negative LFTs the whole time. PCR was positive thought. A couple of my DCs had strong positive LFTs and a couple had really faint lines.

Your symptoms match mine. It is like a really bad cold.

Yes our family have all had this over the past 2 weeks. All 5 of us had negative PCR’s so chances are it wasn’t Covid! Other viruses still exist and ‘normal’ colds can still be nasty.

Yes I had this last week. Same symptoms (maybe not the stiff neck). Completely. Wiped me out and took a week off work (not like me). Antibiotics seemed to clear it up. My PCR was negative.

Lateral flows aren't accurate so you can't say for definite or not covid. Good chance it's just a cold as you say but glad you have done a test to rule it out. Feel better soon.

Sometimes people who have had a positive pcr never even get a positive lateral flow or it takes days for it to show up. They aren't great at all tbh.

This is currently me! Been feeling ropey for the last week, pcr is negative but taking lateral flows every other day incase anything wasn't picked up!

Taking me a while to realise colds still exist!

We had similar a few weeks ago, all negative PCR tests. Colds can be complete shit. I think we’ve all forgotten how rotten they make you feel if it’s a nasty one!

Exactly us. We've all had (got) it. Negative pcr and lft.

Caught at soft play, awful, awful cold. Somewhere between cold and flu actually.

So long since we've been ill!

Yep, both DC and I have had it, DS and I took a PCR to be on the safe side - negative.
