My daughter has a sniffle- she went to a children’s party only 7 kids no parents but has come back with a sniffle

Husband double jabbed but when he went to pick up he was invited into the house where he said there were other parents standing in the kitchen. He was in for about 8-9 mins but feels uncomfortable

I’m yet to be vaccinated so now I feel my times up with Covid- my husband is pretty convinced I’ll die but I starting to wobble a bit now….I don’t have anyone to talk to in to hence the reason I have to rely on mumsnet to have a rant

Massive massive overreaction OP. Surely you're not actually serious?

Quartz2208 · 10/07/2021 19:12

@Shuffleuplove

What on earth is this doing to your child?
She has gone to lie down and is about to be separated from her mother who doesnt even have COVID so nothing good
FourTeaFallOut · 10/07/2021 19:15

She has gone to lie down and is about to be separated from her mother who doesnt even have COVID so nothing good

And that's before she wakes up and her Dad tells her she went to a party and brought back a virus that will kill her Mum. Happy Saturday.

Aquamarine1029 · 10/07/2021 19:15

Even the title of your thread is absolutely mental.

"I think this it it for us"

For fuck's sake. Like it's the rapture.

TableFlowerss · 10/07/2021 19:21

The chances of you dying will be slim op. I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine if you do catch it.

I know someone that has it now and he’s said it’s like a bad cold/flu. Shivers etc and no energy etc buy I’m sure he’ll be fine as I’m sure you will xx

AndeanMountainCat · 10/07/2021 19:24

Your husband is a total bellend.

Namechanged4thi5 · 10/07/2021 19:24

I didn’t expect this amount of responses -

Yes I’m safe very safe - I’m free to do what I want

Why we don’t have anyone to talk to - we don’t have any family in this country and it’s been two years since we saw anyone from both sides of our family

No friends just a few acquaintances

Yes we are stressed that might be adding to the issue

Yes he does believe the worst re Covid and not normally like this

Im moving my stuff into the spare room so that incase one of us is tested positive then atleast it doesn’t spread around too quickly - we have separate bathrooms so not sharing that either for the next few days

Why daughter went to the party / same reason she goes to school it’s good for her health and well-being and a sense of normalcy / that’s more important that my stress levels

Yes we took the decision to separate out vaccines due to the Reston that atleast one of ou need to be around for our daughter

No we are not going to upset her by letting her know if our worries- she knows mummy gets migraines and sometimes sleeps in the spare room as it’s darker so that’s what she will be told…

I'm genuinely concerned for you, OP. Not because of Covid but because you have a husband who is either an over anxious mess or a controlling abuser. Either way it's not good for you to be receiving the messages he is giving.

He thinks you'll die if you get Covid then goes into houses at parties? Not exactly caring. He is feeding your fear and you need to get an appointment with a different GP to sort your anxiety and your vaccine options. Then you need to think about your marriage, he either needs help or he needs to go.

EmmalineC · 10/07/2021 19:25

Your poor child. OP, you have to put her first. If DH has been talking openly about you almost certainly dying, she's probably terrified. Talk to her and reassure her. Then book your vaccination and tell your husband to stop being such a drama queen. Tell him to fuck off at the same time.

wasthataburp · 10/07/2021 19:26

Why are you convinced your are going to die? In fact this whole post sounds like a wind up

Paddingtonthebear · 10/07/2021 19:26

There’s so much wrong here, OP. I think you really should make an appt with your GP on Monday.

SpringRainbow · 10/07/2021 19:28

You can’t be serious? You and your husband need to speak to someone about health anxiety.

You have absolutely no reason to suspect Covid.

Are you going to test your daughter?

TheTallOakTrees · 10/07/2021 19:30

Sounds like you both have anxieties. Perhaps book an appointment with your doctor?

whynotwhatknot · 10/07/2021 19:36

I know someones husband like this he says things like if you go on a plane you'll die, go to london get bombed etc-she has the fear of god put in to her and he just swans off and does it all without her

People like this are abusers youre not going to die

JSL52 · 10/07/2021 19:39

In MN terms , you have a DH problem.

LightAsTheBreeze · 10/07/2021 19:44

This covid scare does seem to be an excuse to put off having the jab that you had planned to have in the next week or so

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 10/07/2021 19:48

You have access to the internet, use it and you'll see that the chances of you dying are incredibly tiny. That's assuming your child even has covid and if she does that you'll catch it

Your DH does not sound like a nice person at all

Ifitquacks · 10/07/2021 19:50

This is a good point. Regardless of what your DH is saying about your risk of death, you have the same info available to you as the rest of us and you can use a computer. Surely you know your risk of death is vanishingly small?
MajesticWhine · 10/07/2021 19:51

OP how many times recently have you / your DH suspected something terrible was about to happen? Write down examples.
And how many times did the terrible thing happen? Versus everything being pretty much fine.

VaguelyInteresting · 10/07/2021 19:52

Your husband is abusing you with this behaviour- do you understand that OP?

LightAsTheBreeze · 10/07/2021 19:53

It is a bit odd that he came home and felt uncomfortable and convinced you that you were going to get covid when you had planned to have your jab

Dustyboots · 10/07/2021 19:56

I think this is a joke. It’s really made me laugh. Sorry.

Comedycook · 10/07/2021 19:58

I hope it is. Very dramatic...I think this is it!
ChocOrange1 · 10/07/2021 20:03

Even the most vulnerable, elderly, unvaccinated people, are still more likely to survive covid than not.

For people ages over 80, about 85% of positive cases eventually recover. And that's not including the ones who are asymptomatic, or has such mild cases they didn't get a test. We know over 80s are the most at risk and are most likely to have underlying health conditions.

Are you really SO ill that you're 7x more likely to die than someone who is aged over 80? And if so, why didn't you get the vaccine sooner!? Your DH has had his, why didn't you go first if you're so vulnerable?

OliveTree75 · 10/07/2021 20:09

I have tried to write a comment a few things but I really don't know what to sayConfused
