Thoughts on the non-vaccinated!

Why have people been so critical of those who have chosen not to be vaccinated against covid 19?

I've read all sorts of comments about those, like me, who chose not to be vaccinated calling us selfish, uneducated and so on. There seems to be a massive lack of respect for what others choose to do with their body and I'm just curious as go why people feel the need to make comments about it. There are obviously many who don't and I do acknowledge that, my post is more directed to thoughts on why the other side do (feels very playground bully like to me).

The way I see it is everyone has a choice - respect that choice and move on with life rather than throwing insults at one another or dwell on something out of your own control.

I'd also like to confirm i do not own tin foil hat, expect the end of days soon or believe everyone will drop dead in 6 months / will transform into magneto from X-Men (all those coins sticking to people's arms!)

I have followed the rules down to a tee but have just chosen not to be vaccinated at present. Maybe I will change my mind, maybe I won't 🤷‍♀️ who knows.

I am genuinely curious - I read on another post "all vulnerable and sensible people have had the jab" as a comment which riled me a bit too! I like to think I'm pretty sensible but clearly this Mumsnetter thinks otherwise 😆😆

Everyone has the right to be a selfish asshole.

@1dayatatime
That's not a good example. You could with the same logic you could also punish those who never downloaded the app.

PaddyK if i could be bothered i would find the links to all of the news articles that I have also read that says about people dying from having the jab.

People are dying of covid (mainly older vulnerable people) people are dying of side effects of the jab, people are dying of cancer, people are dying every single day.

Very very sad that that 31 year old died of covid and pneumonia.....

It doesnt state what health conditions he had, my dad caught flu really bad when he was 31 and got pneumonia, he was admitted to hopsital very unwell (this was 20 years ago) they didnt shut down the country for that nor did they shame him for not having the flu vaccine, he just got unlucly.

A few weeks ago the daily mail posted a story 'I WISH I HAD THE JAB' said 54 YO who died from covid, turns out he had no spleen? Do you know what the role of your spleen does? I would class that as making me vulnerable and would therefore think the benefits of having the jab outweigh the risks. But i think its pathetic people sharing news links of people dying form covid to try and scare others into changing their mind when they have made their own personal choice.

Yes exactly the same logic could be applied to those that never downloaded the app. However the difficulty is that whilst there is a record of those that have downloaded and then deleted/ turned off the app, there is by definition no record of those that never downloaded the app in the first place

But my point remains that those people who do not have the vaccine are then more likely to catch Covid and pass it on (unknowingly) than the vaccinated.

Equally those without the app or those who have deleted it are also more likely to unknowingly catch Covid and then pass it on.

For clarity if you knowingly catch Covid then you will self isolate anyway simply because you are feeling unwell.

But returning to my point, if the objective is to reduce cases and transmission then I f you are going to introduce restrictions on the unvaccinated such as denying access to nightclubs etc then logically this should equally be applied to those without the app or those who have deleted it.

No thoughts at all on it, other than it was their choice to not have a vaccine.
Same as wearing, its also a choice.

I respect other peoples choices, other people can live their life and make choice how they see fit and has feck all to do with me.

@SqueakyPeaks

Thing is, you're not just choosing what to do with your body. You're choosing to increase the risk of harm to everyone you come into contact with. So I see it the same as you "choosing" to drink and drive. You choose to potentially kill people. That's the reality.
This is a ridiculous analogy. Very offensive to anyone affected by drink driving.
