Pfizer vaccine questions

Babyfg · 05/06/2021 18:36

Hi. I was just wondering what symptoms people have had after their first and second jab?

I've been called up for mine and am assuming it will be Pfizer as I'm under 40 and just want to prepare myself. I have three under 5 so need a plan just in case!

Also has anyone got the vaccine while breastfeeding? Is it recommended? Did it affect baby?

Sorry for all the questions but tia ❤️

Probably should have said what side effects rather than symptoms!

I just had mine today and it’s early days but so far a sore arm.

theonlywayisup33 · 05/06/2021 18:39

I have had both. No side effects with Pfizer except a sore arm on the site of the jab

Recruit2020 · 05/06/2021 18:41

Day 4 just a sore arm when lift it up or lie on it. Nothing else. Same for everyone else I know.
Really impressed so far.

leafyygreens · 05/06/2021 18:43

18 hours on from mine

Just a sore arm and weirdly a sore wrist, otherwise totally fine :)

Alternista · 05/06/2021 18:44

Yep, just a sore arm from 24-72 hours afterwards. That was it.

Bokky · 05/06/2021 18:45

Just a sore arm after the first then just complete tiredness the following day after my second. I was in bed and fast asleep by 8pm.

Darkbrownistheriver · 05/06/2021 18:53

Sore arm for two days. Worse than flu jab, but not bad. I work in a GP surgery and have volunteered at a lot of Covid vaccination clinics. We (staff) nearly all had Pfizer and range in age from 20 to 60+. Overall the Pfizer side-effects seem to be quite a bit milder than AZ, though plenty of people who’ve had AZ were also fine. Younger people do seem to have worse side-effects generally, also those who’ve already had Covid - but again, not always.. Can’t help you on the breastfeeding I'm afraid, but I’ve not heard of it being a problem.

Darkbrownistheriver · 05/06/2021 18:56

Oh yes, @Bokky has reminded me, after the second I didn’t get the sore arm, but did have a v mild headache and felt a bit meh the next day. The initial sore arm was also the whole arm, not just around the vaccination site.

delilahbucket · 05/06/2021 18:59

Very sore arm for 48 hours which was much better if I kept it moving, a headache the day after, nothing that a couple of paracetamol couldn't resolve. Day 8, my arm came up bright red and I felt absolutely horrendous, just so tired. Doctors treated as collitis with antibiotics although my arm went down after 24 hours, but I was wiped for a good five days.

PumpkinPie2016 · 05/06/2021 19:01

I had the Pfizer on Thursday- first one.

So far, no ill effects apart from my arm was sore for 24 hours (literally got better overnight!). Take paracetamol if your arm is sore.

DarcyLewis · 05/06/2021 19:02

Sore arm for maybe 48 hours.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 05/06/2021 19:02

I had Pfizer about three weeks ago, currently breastfeeding an eight week old.

Absolutely zero side effects whatsoever, not even a sore arm. In fact I completely forgot I’d had it until my mum asked me how it was about two days later!

Yika · 05/06/2021 19:05

Had both doses of Pfizer. Dose 1: arm a bit achey around the site of the jab and into the armpit for 24 hours. Dose 2: felt mildly under the weather the next day - as if I had a cold coming on. Nothing major or that would stop me doing anything.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 05/06/2021 19:05

Also OP, yes it it advised that you have the vaccine whilst breastfeeding. I’d already been told this by my midwife as well as reading it on the NHS and Royal College of Midwives website and the nurse who I saw prior to my fax confirmed it too.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 05/06/2021 19:06

Vax not fax!!!

Treezan82 · 05/06/2021 19:06

I had mine a week ago. My arm hurt a few hours later and it lasted about 24 hours. Don't plan anything too strenuous the next day! Apart from that I was fine.

RickiTarr · 05/06/2021 19:07

Almost nothing, just a slightly achey arm each dose.

Treezan82 · 05/06/2021 19:09

I have been having dizzy spells last night and this morning and did wonder if it might be linked to the jab. But as it was a week ago I imagine far more likely down to not drinking enough /lack of exercise /eating crap/too much sun.

OneOffAsIdentifiable · 05/06/2021 19:10

First jab 5WKS after EMCS, did the 15min wait, walked back to car, had a severe dizzy spell in car park and completely lost balance. Dizziness hasn't gone but a lot better. Feel drugged slightly all of the time. Baby is fine, still breastfeeding.

OneOffAsIdentifiable · 05/06/2021 19:12

Had Covid in Dec during second trimester. Then all I had was mild cold symptoms.

Ginfilledcats · 05/06/2021 19:17

I had the first in January and second in April. Dd was 7m at the first and near 11 at the second, EBF! Absolutely no side effects to her (am currently bf as I type) and only a horrendously sore arm after the first and fine after 2nd x

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/06/2021 19:19

Zero symptoms. Not even a sore arm.

sagegreentree · 05/06/2021 19:20

Aching arm after the first one- last 3/4 days.
Aching arm and neck after second, last 2 days.

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 05/06/2021 19:22

I’ve only had the first dose but I had a heavy feeling arm and had an aural migraine the day after, but that might not have been related to the jab. It was all manageable to deal with while looking after a 3 year old. DH was worse after his, very tired and achy.
