How can a measured, tested and approved bit of a spike protein cause more harm in someone, than the risk of contracting the full genome of a virus which has got that spike in it. If (like in rare cases) your immune system can react to just the spike, how would it have coped with the full virus (whichever mutation of it) if caught naturally. So there’s risk either way, and some people struggle - either way

@Funfortheroad

Why do u think that is a nonsense conspiracy theory?

claireymrsd · 07/06/2021 16:57

Yes absolutely.
Her dad is ECV so it's also to help protect him.

Because everything you've said is a completely unproven, speculative nonsense conspiracy theory that has no place in a rational conversation.

Yes

Gain of Function lab papers were released online. That’s what work was being carried out in the lab. Exactly that. Scientists lashed out in 2015. Was funded by various sources, (Peter Datz someone, forget his name) He was the guy who paid and ordered lots of scientists to silence the investigation into the lab work in April 2020. The Chinese Dr who alerted the world back in Dec ‘19 went missing after he released some of the genome for scientists. Where the hell has the other Dr (forget her name) known as ‘Bat Lady’ who carried out this work gone?

They are old enough to decide for themselves but I’ll certainly be encouraging them to.

They’ve had all their jabs so far, don’t see how this one is different.

Backofbeyond50 · 07/06/2021 18:45

My 17 year old will choose and will probably have it. Not sure about 15 year old

Backofbeyond50 · 07/06/2021 18:49

@Nappyvalley15 I fully trust my 17 year old dd who is studying science to make the decision. She is very keen to have it. U think I am more wary but it her choice.

Merinocool · 07/06/2021 21:10

My 16 year old has had both doses of the Pfizer.

Starlightstarbright1 · 09/06/2021 13:26

When saying teenagers - 16 year olds get to decide 13 year olds not so parents response would be different

DonnaDonna01 · 09/06/2021 19:03

There was a report on the news yesterday encouraging teenagers to have the vaccine - Doctor giving advice firstly tried to dodge the question of long term health issues and then when a direct question was asked about long term fertility issues said “so far there are no indications of any issues with fertility” This is the kind of comment that really makes me wary, “so far” and “no indications” does not fill me with confidence.

kimlo · 09/06/2021 19:22

dd1 wants it. She's 17 so it's her decision.

dd2, not sure they'll give it due to previous reactions to jabs. Nothing serious but it means she can't have any outside of a medical setting so if the plan is to do it at school I don't think she'll be able to. I'm not even sure how she's going to be able to get the hpv jab since the school nurse wont touch her and the gp doesn't do them. I'll ask the gp about her and follow thier advice.

Locally, vaccination ahead of national schedule. Pretty much exactly as I predicted, DS booked his vaccination for the first available appointment immediately on receiving his text.
