Went to the appointment- got out of the car-stood in line, couldn’t breath, lightheaded started shaking uncontrollably and crying. Ran back to the car and came back home- I’ve failed again at this.
And I went thinking this is the last time I’ll see my daughter so come what may- still didn’t work

Now I have to call and book again but my heart beat is so high that I cannot stand up or sit up

OP posts:

And this government have been utterly transparent and truthful all the way though this...
The NHS app that we're encouraging people to download shows your vaccine status. Who knows what it'll be needed for.

sleepwouldbenice · 03/06/2021 17:20

@englishmaninnewyork

Personally I think it's best to just make a decision and stick with it. Either way, I agree with saying you have had it regardless. There is nothing to be gained by saying you have not had the vaccine, certainly in the current climate.
Apart from honesty and owning your decision I don't believe in forcing people to have a vaccine esp the OP who clearly has acute anxiety issues, but lying is pathetic
partyatthepalace · 03/06/2021 17:25

Get someone to take you?

Thisisus909 · 03/06/2021 17:25

@Leanandmean31

If people ask me whether I’ve had it, I just say yes and move on. I’m not getting it. There’s nowhere near enough evidence of the risks involved and the blood clot issue was not even known before they started giving it to people. You’re gambling with your health by taking it and you have no recourse if it turns out to be really harmful. It’s got nothing to do with anyone else whether an individual gets it and I’m uninterested in appeals about herd immunity. Any immunity seems to be pretty short lived anyway so are people going to be signing up for long-term jabbing every time it mutates? OP, lie to others if it gets them off your back. If you want it, have it. If you’re worried, don’t. Bodily autonomy is a wonderful thing.
I only meet vaccinated people indoors as I volunteer with vulnerable people. By all means make your choice but lying is actually taking others’ choice from them. Can you see how wrong that is?
roguetomato · 03/06/2021 17:27

I really think you shouldn't force yourself to get vaccinated if you don't want it, just because people around you pressure you.
If you decide that you should get it with your own mind but still can't shake off the fear, you need to tackle that anxiety first.
MN can be a helpful place, but not regarding covid imo. This topic is too emotional to many of us. I don't think you'll find reassurance here. Better to seek help irl.

Aquamarine1029 · 03/06/2021 17:28

The bullying on this site about the vaccine is unbelievable.

Noidea2114 · 03/06/2021 17:33

OP think about it logically.
How many people have had the vaccine to how many got blood clots.
Every tablet or injections can cause health issues.
Do you take paracetamol or other pain relief.
If you had an operation that could cause health issues.

chocolateicecream · 03/06/2021 17:42

Itsnotyourchoiceanymore, you should not feel pressured to do anything. Do you think it would be best to focus on the panic attacks for now and put the vaccine on the back burner? Panic attacks are so debilitating and I hope that you do feel able to get some support with them 💐

Absolutely.

This is a trial vaccine, OP is 40 and not vulnerable and can do what the fuck she likes.

btwwhichonespink · 03/06/2021 17:58

@murbblurb

all of which are much more likely with covid. Stop talking to fuckwits.
This thread is full of them. As evidenced by this post.
Leanandmean31 · 03/06/2021 17:59

A panic attack so paralysing, that you can post on MN.

In the nicest possible way, fuck off.

(not to Lean)

Jaxhog · 03/06/2021 18:01

@frizzyandfrazzled

Ring your GP. Take a supportive friend/partner. Ask the vaccination staff to help. Just say "I need help with this" to the first member of staff you see. But there is no rush. You can do this later. Tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon. Getting the jab is the right thing but it doesn't have to be until you have your anxiety under control.
This. But please don't give up trying.
btwwhichonespink · 03/06/2021 18:01

@GorgeousNightingale

Why not pretend you are going for a nice coffee and chat with the nurse, then when they inject you, imagine it's being stung by a wasp or a type of beetle that bites and go "ouch you little bugger" - then you're all done x
I think the needle itself is the least of anyone's worries. If only it were that simple!
Katya213 · 03/06/2021 18:01

No talkng to anyone will convince you other wise. A GP cant take you down there and make you take it. Its down to you.

btwwhichonespink · 03/06/2021 18:03

OP, just ignore the pressure from other people. Take your time and don't have it if you don't want to/the risks don't stack up for you.

If people ask you, just say you are still thinking about it and change the subject.

Mojoj · 03/06/2021 18:03

Don't bother getting the vaccination. No point. We can't go anywhere and, if you believe thd crap coming out of politicians' mouths, we must all still be super careful. I am sorely regretting getting mine.

Lala134 · 03/06/2021 18:04
@StuffyHead unfortunately unless everyone gets the vaccine who can (ie other than those who are allergic/immunocompromised) then we won’t get herd immunity so the pressure does need to exist if we want to stop having restrictions
You do realise natural infection and those who have already been infected counts towards the herd right? Lol

June2021 · 03/06/2021 18:08

@FullLaundryBasket

Give your head a wobble and rebook your vaccination.
Yep.

When on earth did we become such a pathetic bunch. So many scared people. Wobble your head and read the actual risks, and chill a bit. Christ alive it's amazing how anything every gets done with some of the worried about everything brigade

June2021 · 03/06/2021 18:10

Be careful, no one is allowed to criticise the ones that panic about pretty much everything these days. God only knows how our species survived. First world problems - panic attacks, needle phobia, over exaggerated risk of vaccine - for people with real worries and problems in the developing nations they really don't have time for these fears and worries

logical thinking leaves the building when talking about vaccines and covid
Bunnyfuller · 03/06/2021 18:14

The pill is more likely to cause blood clots.

Flying is more likely to cause blood clots.

Anyone talking about ‘long term’ effects is talking out of their arse because it hasn’t been around long term.

Although it’s a variant on the annual flu jab, why can’t people read the science rather than ‘some friends’ ffs

HoikingUpMyBigGirlPantss · 03/06/2021 18:18

I'm a steward at various vaccination centres. We're used to seeing patients who have needle phobia or other concerns around the vaccine. Please do mention your fears when you arrive at the centre and we'll do all we can to support you through it.
