New thread as the MRHA report is out today.

Note this is not an anti vaccination thread.

It's just another thing to do, though isn't it? And it's all creating such stress and anxiety for you. Which area are you in? (Don't worry about saying if you don't want to share that info).

Leaveitonthefloordrobe · 14/06/2021 20:13

Sorry, that last post was to Penni.

Mixing of vaccines is licenced in some countries I believe? I completely understand your misgivings, though. And tbh Pfizer doesn't come without its serious side effects. There's a lot coming out now about the link to cardiomyopathy which worries me as I had Pfizer and have heart-related anxiety (fast resting heart rate, palpitations when anxious etc). None of these decisions are easy ones Sad

penni00 · 14/06/2021 21:51

@Nofriend

Has your GP told you that if you decide on Pfizer that you have to sort it out yourself with 119? (like my GP has said - my GP led vac centre has finished so it has to be a nhs vac centre)
Or do you still have a GP led vac centre open and administering Pfizer?

@penni00 I asked the vaccinators today what information they can see about patient's on screen, and they said it was basically any vaccine information and whether they'd had the flu jab. Certainly not all of their health records.

penni00 · 15/06/2021 14:59

@ajandjjmum

Thank you ever so much.

AppleJane · 15/06/2021 20:06

Well that answers that one then @penni00!

Maybe all you can do now is wait for the mixing trial data to be officially released and see if anything changes?

@TulipVictory thanks for the link. Very interesting to see the Australians are now looking at raising the age limit again after the death of a 53 year old.

Leaveitonthefloordrobe · 15/06/2021 20:19

I do wish the UK would follow suit and raise the age limit for AZ. Yes it's a small risk but one that's not worth taking for many. It also seems to be killing more women than men, unless I'm mistaken.

penni00 · 15/06/2021 22:33

@AppleJane
I can't see anything changing when the UK has so much AZ and not so much of the mRNAs.
I so wish we had bought all mRNAs and not developed AZ, Israel seems to be doing well................

Maia77 · 15/06/2021 23:05

I also don't understand how they won't reassess the cut-off age for AZ. Most other countries don't give AZ to under 50s. Italy has recently raised the age limit to 60.
But as it has been mentioned, we have plenty of AZ. Still, what about ethical considerations, do no harm etc. They still keep pushing AZ.
I get a letter to book vaccination every other week.

Roonerspismed · 16/06/2021 06:03

Because they have millions of doses of AZ to give.

Anyone who thinks the MHRA is acting independently here is a fool

Yes, the letters and texts don't stop, do they? If you want the vaccine but don't want AZ and your username is indicative of your dob you could say you might be pregnant when you book. 🤷
Cookiesandscones · 16/06/2021 07:28

I am now 11 days post 2nd AZ, I am starting to calm a little bit, I am definitely not as anxious anymore the anxiety still creeps up but nothing too bad

@Rainbowsandstorms I have just seen you were sent to a&e I am glad everything was ok

Hope everyone else is doing well

penni00 · 16/06/2021 10:03

The system won't even show me the pregnant box? Wondering if that is because I have had a first dose of AZ, or whether I am considered too old!!

Maia77 · 16/06/2021 12:53

@Leaveitonthefloordrobe I'll be 44 in July, that's a bit old but yeah anything can happen.
I assume ppl just say they are having unprotected sex, so pregnancy could be a possibility. Has anyone done it that way and it worked?
They could ask for proof of pregnancy.
Oh I don't know. It's such a hassle.

I'm totally pro-vaccines etc., but these vaccines are new and have been given emergency approval, which also isn't very encouraging.

Actualfactual · 16/06/2021 12:56

US and New Zealand won't touch AZ, Norway and Denmark have permanently removed it from their vaccine program, France it's over 55, Spain, Portugal & Ireland over 60, 65 in Sweden, rejected by Switzerland, paused yesterday in Greece for under 60s...the list goes on.

The refusal to look at the age limit for AZ again by the UK government in light of new evidence is the one thing that convinces me that money is the more important consideration and maybe I'm naive but I just find that so so shocking.

Going by all the evidence so far AZ is overall (though it's really, really unfortunate) an ersatz vaccine to Pfizer and Moderna. I keep thinking about the carseat scenario someone posted, I'm not sure if it was earlier in this thread (if one in every 30,000 carseats spontaneously combusted they wouldn't be allowed to sell them), yet UK over 40s are just meant to play Russian roulette (unless, like many you have close family history of blood clots and choose to wait, unprotected, enjoying low mood, lack of sleep and anxiety about it all - I'm in Scotland so can't book anything but AZ)

And they seem to be finding new problems with it

Maia77 · 16/06/2021 13:21

@Actualfactual It's beggars belief that the UK Gov is quite happy to play Russian roulette with ppl's lives.
Of course it's all about the money. But where are medical professionals to flag this up and demand changes. They are pushing ppl to get vaccinated with AZ. Biggest incidence in the 40s age group. It's outrageous.

AppleJane · 16/06/2021 13:53

It is outrageous. And if it turns out that women are more at risk well it feels like 'you've had your babies, you're dispensable'. At least we are allowed to talk about it on MN now without being screamed at.

Actualfactual · 16/06/2021 14:01

@Maia77 I know, I have a close relative who is medical prof and who I used to think of as a bit of a "mad antivaxxer" as they wouldn't let their kids get MMR, but they have had AZ and have been asking me when I'm getting mine. The only professional I've seen with a view on it is Prof Makris on twitter. I think so many people just don't even know about it, there has been so little coverage of the deaths in the media, out of 66 deaths I've only seen maybe 5 reported. I never believed in media suppression but it's just bizarre I think...they even had someone journo from GB news ask whether they'd be rolling the wonderful AZ back out to under 40s at the end of the briefing the other day (waffle waffle cut to bbc newsroom...) it makes me feel like I'm missing something.

AppleJane · 16/06/2021 14:01

[quote penni00]@AppleJane

I know what you mean @penni00, if only it could have been different.

I understand it was a difficult situation back then trying to figure out which vaccines to buy etc but what boils my blood is the inaction once they were aware of the blood clot issue. That's why many of us are adamant it's all been about offloading supplies of AZ before the problem gets too big to ignore.

Maia77 · 16/06/2021 14:11

It is bizarre and totally irresponsible. NHS phoned my husband who also hasn't had his vaccines (he thinks they haven't been sufficiently tested). Anyway they wanted to ask questions and persuade him, but he just said 'Do I need to answer these questions and talk about this?", they said no and that was an end of that conversation.
They are really pushing this, so what if some ppl die, it's all for the greater good.
Also, I think 26% of new deaths from India variant were ppl who were double jabbed (I might be wrong about the exact percentage). How come nobody wants to elaborate on that.

Roonerspismed · 16/06/2021 14:11

I feel sure there is a press blackout on this.

I also understand that deaths post vaccine are not being linked not recorded as such.

We may never know the true damage of these vaccines. It is being buried
