New thread as the MRHA report is out today.

Note this is not an anti vaccination thread.

She suffered from thrombocytopenia and was taking hormonal medication to resolve the symptoms which are NON-coagulation of the blood and therefore spontaneous bleeding etc.
The authorities have taken all her medical files and those of the vaccination centre but it seems she didn't disclose this fact. The charges against the health authorities are reported to be going to be dropped.

Italy has still decided not to use AZ in younger people, but probably because those are the ones left to be vaccinated (as of 3/6 you can book a vaccine for anyone over the age of 12) and so they are understandably worried about non take up if AZ is offered.

AppleJane · 12/06/2021 16:04

@penni00 I've never seen a proper answer to that either. And as we likely had Covid before we'd even heard of it we can't be 100% sure. I know I lost my smell and taste because baking Christmas 2019 was no fun!

I did wonder if I could get my DP a test to see if he has antibodies but when I had a quick google the cheapest one I could see was £50 and wasn't sure how legit it was.

ICanSmellSummerComing · 12/06/2021 17:37

Apple I had v mild symptoms last march and felt over whelming fatigue and lost sense of taste etc.
I have just done a gov run anti body test and unfortunately I don't have any.

Christian Eriksen, Denmark football player, aged 29, just had what looked like a heart attack on the pitch during an international game. It was very shocking to watch. He's now stabilised in hospital thank goodness and I hope he recovers well.

I'm curious to know whether he has had a Covid vaccination recently.

Grellbunt · 12/06/2021 19:51

I wouldn't start jumping to conclusions.

I am concerned about AZ, not vaccines in general.

daytimeknitter · 12/06/2021 20:04

Not jumping to conclusions at all. Don't worry.

Grellbunt · 12/06/2021 20:20

Good

I think a lot of us are relying on this thread for support.... don't want the tone to change

Geamhradh · 12/06/2021 20:42

You might want to namechange if you want to convince the people on this thread you're not an anti-vaxxer.

Shocking - but how is it relevant to this thread - unless you know something no-one else does?
daytimeknitter · 12/06/2021 21:12

It's relevant to the thread because this is a discussion about the risk being of blood clots associated with a particular covid vaccine. I have no inside information but the possibility of Christian Eriksen's collapse to his recent vaccination is being widely and internationally discussed on MSM. This is a high profile incident that I thought worthy of comment. Didn't intend to derail or upset.

Dementedswan · 12/06/2021 21:42

Given that he's 29 if assume he recent vaccination is Pfizer which has been reported to cause heart problems... or maybe... its not connected to vaccine at all .

Terzani · 12/06/2021 21:55

Either way, Eriksen could not have received AZ. Denmark doesn't use AZ anymore, the Danish coach chose not to vaccinate the players before Euro 2020, and if Eriksen did receive a vaccine at his club, Inter Milan, it was Pfizer, because there are only 3 weeks between doses. Soccer players, athletes in general are given Pfizer because of that.

Funfortheroad · 13/06/2021 00:21

I've sent off for the antibody test because if I have antibodies from the virus on top of my 1st AZ, I definitely won't take the second dose. But unfortunately I really don't think I will have.

I'm so sad and frustrated about what has happened, and feel cheated out of a proper vaccine.

AppleJane · 13/06/2021 05:17

@ICanSmellSummerComing and @Funfortheroad how did you get the antibody tests? How easy are they to do?

ICanSmellSummerComing · 13/06/2021 07:02

Fun for the road, unfortunately they do not test for vaccine ones only infection ones.

Zoe covid app, poster on here posted a link in this section.

You can test for either - spike antibodies for vaccine (or infection if you haven't been vaccinated) or nucleoprotein for just infection.
SheilaTakeABow · 13/06/2021 08:34

@Funfortheroad, I took an antibody test last week thanks to the Zoe app, which I've been using since the whole thing started. I had confirmed Covid (realistically mild, but scary nonetheless) in October last year. Got my results yesterday - still have antibodies.

@AppleJane, it should be fairly simple, but you do have to prick yourself(I flinched and ended up with a bigger hole than necessary) and then get quite a bit of blood out.

AppleJane · 13/06/2021 09:59

@QueenStromba do you know how I get the vaccine antibody test?

DP possibly had Covid Jan 2020 and one dose of AZ in March so it would draw a line under it if we knew he has enough antibodies.

AppleJane · 13/06/2021 10:01

@SheilaTakeABow I'd be doing the pricking on him so that shouldn't be a problem Grin

This one will work.

onlinedoctor.lloydspharmacy.com/uk/coronavirus-covid-19-testing/covid-19-antibody-test-kit

You can also get LFT style ones but they won't tell you the actual amount of antibodies.

AppleJane · 13/06/2021 11:33

Thank you @QueenStromba I'll take a look! 👍

No wonder they're being so difficult

DatingDickheads · 13/06/2021 14:01

@SirVixofVixHall I hope you and your dd are a bit less anxious today Flowers

SirVixofVixHall · 13/06/2021 14:14

Thank you ! That is kind. She is a bit calmer today. I have a headache but it feels like a normal headache. I have no idea how to know when t worry !

GentlemanJackie · 14/06/2021 07:17

Re antibodies my DH did a test for infection type antibodies and still had some over a year after he had covid. Not that that means anyone else would! But it was interesting and somewhat reassuring. He’s had the Pfizer too now.
