Anyone under 32/31 tried and been successful?

Waiting for my 29yo husband to be able to book! (I'm a vaccination volunteer, so have had both doses)

I'm 28 and no luck here, although I'm hoping we may be able to book by the weekend based on timescales this far!
Missypuff30 · 24/05/2021 09:21

Yes I'm checking constantly - hopefully this week!

lurker101 · 24/05/2021 09:22

@LG93 @Missypuff30 no luck here yet (london) still trying. Fingers crossed for this week!

lap90 · 24/05/2021 10:22

@Missypuff30 Apparently the DM reported that people under 30 are to be offered jabs by the end of the week.

Tinks177 · 24/05/2021 10:51

I've just received a text to say I've cancelled my second appointment... I haven't 😩 Has anyone else has this problem? I've tried calling 119 but they said they're busy and cut me off 🙄

speckledostrichegg · 24/05/2021 12:09

@Missypuff30

no luck for me yet either!

My birthday is the 2nd July, so currently missing the cut off by a couple of hours Grin

Hopefully will be able to book soon

speckledostrichegg · 24/05/2021 12:12

Also just wondered if anyone could confirm this for me - a volunteer at the centre told my aunt that only people under 31 were being given Pfizer. She didn't get a chance to ask him anymore about this and has no idea if it was actually valid info or not.

I don't mind whatever I'm jabbed with but I've got a couple of friends my age who will be more anxious, is everyone under 40 being offered an alternative to AZ, or is it just dependent on availability?

Have you tried looking on "manage my bookings"? It's probably just a glitch
Forgottenyeti · 24/05/2021 12:21

Mine was cancelled, I just booked it again on the website.

FizzyPink · 24/05/2021 12:26

I’m 29 and DP 31. I keep trying but haven’t been able to book for either of us yet. Hopefully we’ll be able to at some point this week.

Yes myself and my partner have both had this this morning too! We had the first dose of Moderna over the weekend and since then, manage my booking isn't working, simply saying I need to book whereas both appointments were already booked Confused
Forgottenyeti · 24/05/2021 13:00

Weirdly mine was also moderna.

Yes this happened to me and I was able to rebook my second appointment around 12 hours later. For a while it didn't acknowledge I'd had first jab. I think it's because the 2nd appointment date you originally booked isn't doing the jab you had for your first that day. Just a theory but makes sense. I had Moderna and the site is doing AZ and Moderna.

I personally thought it was everyone. I didn't think anyone under 40 would be offered az. I'm over 40 and was given Pfizer recently
ferretface · 24/05/2021 17:49

I got Pfizer today (35, central London). My husband (36) got Moderna. Never got offered AZ, the national booking service only shows Pfizer and Moderna sites and when my GP
later contacted me, the appointment they suggested was also for Pfizer.

I've also had this today! Was jabbed on Saturday, today got a text to say I cancelled my second dose when I haven't. Tried to rebook and it's saying I've not had a first dose yet so it was asking me to book that this week. Finally got through to 119 and the lady said it was fine and booked my appointment for this coming Saturday until I pointed out that wouldn't work as it was only a week between my two doses 🤷‍♀️ her suggestion was to wait a few days and see if it updates and if it doesn't ask my GP to update my record and then rebook a second jab. What a mess 🤦‍♀️
skyvv90 · 24/05/2021 22:01

Do small pharmacy sites still offer an alternative to AZ? I booked at a superdrug one but I'm a bit worried as their website says they use AZ

I had mine last week in a boots store, it was AZ, I needed AZ so I was happy to have it, I gave them a call just to double check
carrieeee · 24/05/2021 22:39

I'm 31 & DH 33, we both got our text this morning and booked in for Wednesday for the pfizer, surprised how quick it was!

springhasalmostsprung · 25/05/2021 08:01

@carrieeee is that the text from the NHS or from your GP?

Just wondering how you know it's definitely Pfizer?
Also jealous that you're booked for tomorrow when I'm 35 and couldn't get one until Friday! Grin

It was from the GP and the message says your invited for the Pfizer vaccination, so I hope so.
Friday isn't too long to wait! Just hoping for no reactions afterwards!

Cavette · 25/05/2021 08:33

DP and I both had our first jabs last week, I wanted to change my second appointment and when I logged in to the website there was no trace of my 2nd booking. Phoned the helpline and they had to book me a new appointment.
DP checked and his had vanished too. No idea what would have happened if we'd just turned up on the day!

Both had Pfizer, they weren't doing AZ at our centre and everyone there looked under 40.
