Following for letting sil and friend know

WaitingForNormality · 10/05/2021 16:55

Marking my place to follow :-)

Early 30s so got a looooong wait I think!

squiglet111 · 10/05/2021 17:00

38 soon to be 39 and no sign of invite yet. Already back at work at a secondary school so hoping I don't catch covid before I get vaccinated!

blondie87 · 10/05/2021 17:05

I’m desperate to be vaccinated as I work in a school. Feel quite vulnerable being unvaccinated. When do we reckon they will open for the 30-35s?

MapleBee · 10/05/2021 17:14

Also desperate. Chris Whitty is talking about unvaccinated under 40s still being at risk from severe complications and long term illness.

Rosehip10 · 10/05/2021 17:16

38 here. Booked into local GP hub next weekend. Hub has confirmed they are now doing pfizer only for first dose. AZ only for second doses.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 10/05/2021 17:26

Wasn't able to watch the press conference - did they say anything about vaccinations for the under 40s?

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 10/05/2021 17:36

SE England , got my text to book today. I'm 37.

squiglet111 · 10/05/2021 17:36

Just watched bojo announcement. No news on vaccines for under 40s :(

squiglet111 · 10/05/2021 17:38

I'm definitely desperate for my vaccine now. School kids won't need to wear masks from next week and I work in a school.

Bojo was asked the question what about teachers and support staff that are unvaccinated and he dodged the question. Arsehole

MapleBee · 10/05/2021 17:38

No news on vaccines. They just confirmed that the unvaccinated under 40s are still at risk of severe illness.

nordica · 10/05/2021 17:43

All they kept saying on that press conference was that people can make their own choices about social contact after Monday.

And all the journalists in their 50s asking why the restrictions can't be all lifted before June. Easy for them to say when they've probably had two doses of the vaccine by now. Angry

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 10/05/2021 17:45

Grrr.... OK we so we can make our own choices on social contact, but we'll be more at risk because we haven't yet had the vaccination yet!!!!!!

squiglet111 · 10/05/2021 17:52

I wonder why we haven't been invited yet (35-39)?

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 10/05/2021 17:56

I would imagine it's due to having to rejig the website to enable us (and pregnant women) to be able to book a non-AZ vaccination.

BobBobBobbing · 10/05/2021 17:57

To the person who was interested in Guys- a friend got done at centre 2 today and got Pfizer.

Toottootdrivers · 10/05/2021 18:00

I'm 35 and got a call on Saturday asking if I could go in on Sunday for the Pfizer! I'm in Merseyside

squiglet111 · 10/05/2021 18:00

That makes sense thanks

38 (39 soon) and no sign. I'm desperate, I teach secondary, as from next week there will be even less protection than there has been. I feel really vulnerable and angry at everyone saying that we can't stay like this forever. Of course we can't, I imagine most people don't want to but I at least want a fighting chance of escaping covid.

Too many restrictions have been lifted considering the vast majority of the working world haven't received even 1 vaccine yet.

I hear you. As a teacher too I just feel let down at the lack of consideration from the government throughout this.
blondie87 · 10/05/2021 18:22

Now the majority of the CEV and older age brackets have been done, I’m really surprised they aren’t prioritising those who can’t work from home and come into contact with 100s of people a day. I understand that at the beginning it could slow down the roll out and leave vulnerable people at risk, but now age is less of an issue as older people have been vaccinated, risk for under 40s surely corresponds more closely with profession?

nordica · 10/05/2021 18:25

I don't understand how Wales is vaccinating healthy 18 year olds now? Every area will have vaccine deliveries in proportion to their population so them having a smaller population shouldn't make any difference.

Meanwhile here in London my local GP vaccination hub closed down after they had done the over 45s.

HolmeH · 10/05/2021 18:25

I completely agree @blondie87 - I WFH, I’m 33 & low risk. I’d like my vaccine but I’d happily wait until all those who cannot WFH are vaccinated before me!

LemonCake79 · 10/05/2021 19:01

Just to add insult to injury a pharmacist has posted on my local Facebook that he is opening a Pfizer centre in my village this weekend. It's five minutes walk from my house. He is urging everyone to book up the appointments, there is space etc.

If only I could!!!

LondonWFuck · 10/05/2021 19:12

My friend who lives in central/south London is now going for Pfizer this week. she had a text from her GP today. She's 37. The ages are getting lower! ☺️
