All done any home again, I got a sticker! They did ask you to wait at ours for 15 min if you were driving. The whole process was about an hour as there was a bit of a wait. I thought it might not be that busy as yesterday evening I could have booked any time I wanted!

RumHoney · 30/04/2021 16:50

Also interested to see that elland road has moderna - I'm booked there on Sunday. I'll take either though!

TheNewMrsD · 30/04/2021 17:09

My doctor's surgery called me today to book me in for Tuesday.. I'm 37, no health issues and in the West Midlands!

Well done @Eccle80! 🥳

Wannabegreenfingers · 30/04/2021 18:32

42 here, booked as soon as it was announced and got the vaccine the following day.

tosspot · 30/04/2021 20:00

A small tip if you are interested in where moderna or pfizer are being given. Pick a venue (eg London area), date and time, then when you are asked if you want the 2nd dose there select no, pick another location anywhere in the country, ie L1 for Liverpool. If the selection includes pharmacies, village halls etc chances are your 1st dose choice is AZ. If only a small number of venues around country pop up on a particular date likely to be pfizer or moderna. Do not confirm the booking for 1st or 2nd. Just go back and select the venue most convenient to you that you have worked out has the vaccine. Alternatively, you can ring Guys they will tell you which of their venues (3 at Guys and 3 St Thomas's are currently doing pfizer or moderna and on which date). You can book direct there without having to be a patient. If none are doing it, they usually have some due in fairly soon,

Sunny360 · 01/05/2021 07:41

First check of the day and its a no from me (July 82)

@tosspot - that’s just not going to work. Most sites you can book through the NationalBooking Service are doing AstraZeneca, but are increasingly getting some Pfizer and Modena, including at the pharmacy sites. In addition, local areas have the ability to move vaccine between sites. So even if their official delivery was AZ, they might on the day have some leftover of another brand from a different site. So it’s really not possible to game the system.
YetGo · 01/05/2021 07:47

Anyone had a long delay in receiving booking confirmation email and text? I took a screenshot yesterday lunchtime but no correspondence.

Weeedonkey · 01/05/2021 07:56

Just got the text message invite to book, followed the link and instructions and got this Confused so confused.

It’s like the whole testing thing all over again 🙈 it’s going to be difficult, drawn out and just frustrating trying to get this vaccine isn’t it.

You are joking!! I just pressed continue added in my details and then got the same message. I can’t get anywhere what on Earth is this rubbish!
AlexandraEiffel · 01/05/2021 08:00

@Weeedonkey it's a bug others have reported at various times. Just click continue. I found the whole vaccination process easy and well run.

MRex · 01/05/2021 08:01

How weird, that's a new one.

Most likely you will get AZ, that's the majority of vaccines given in the UK, to over 22 million people so far. That's why our cases, hospitalizations and deaths have come down so far - because it works. All the vaccines are safe and effective; risks are miniscule and they will protect you from covid.

There are also hundreds of other threads for people to hang out spreading vaccine panic, that isn't the purpose of this one.

OP posts:
AlexandraEiffel · 01/05/2021 08:09

@Weeedonkey ah ok. I've not heard of that. Usually it just appears randomly in the process but has no impact on the rest of it. Hopefully it'll get out of the way soon.

MRex · 01/05/2021 08:09

Try calling 119, they should at least know if you're special, or if the website has an error when it'll be fixed.

OP posts:
Weeedonkey · 01/05/2021 08:11

Haha definitely not special! Will do thanks, wasn’t aware of that number. 👍🏻

Blueskytoday06 · 01/05/2021 08:12

Not vaccine panic - I'm not an anti vaxxer. What I'm deliberating is the side effects. But yes you are right, I'll split my answer appropriately.

42 & appointment today @ 12:55

CarlottaValdez · 01/05/2021 08:20

I’m 41 and I can get on the site but can’t get booked. Availability is terrible, I was slightly on the fence about getting it anyway and this is really making me want to just not bother. I can get one in late May if I drive miles but then the second appointment there’s nothing except central London. I’m hoping if I try in a few days it might be better.

MRex · 01/05/2021 08:26

My neighbour struggled due to daftly not booking the night before like DH and two other neighbours and only getting end of May. She just messaged though that a bunch of new slots opened for the end of next week at the site round the corner. So I'd say definitely worth waiting for new slots. Wondering whether to wake DH to see if he wants to move his appointment from a few miles away where he'll need to take the train... I suspect he would prefer his lie-in day to remain unmolested and just travel.

MotherOfCrocodiles · 01/05/2021 08:27

If they don't know what vaccine they have where, does that mean they don't know if your 2nd dose will be the same one as first?
