I'm glad I took screenshots because I still havent had a text or email! The system must be overloaded!

I have mine this morning at 10:30, I hope I dont feel rough because I have to do 2 school pick ups this afternoon (on foot, an hour round trip). DH usually helps but has a meeting 😫

Imfedupwithallofthis · 30/04/2021 07:14

Booking site officially updated that those aged 40 before 1 July 21 can book a vaccine.

LondonWFuck · 30/04/2021 07:19

Mid 1980 here, just booked my jabs

Crazybunnylady123 · 30/04/2021 07:26

Getting there not long for me now hopefully. I’m 36! Can’t wait to feel safer.

SwedishK · 30/04/2021 07:41

Does anyone know if it's always in the left arm they do the injection?

RedToothBrush · 30/04/2021 07:52

No its not. You can ask for whichever you prefer.
SwedishK · 30/04/2021 07:55

@RedToothBrush

Brilliant, thank you!

Synthesiser · 30/04/2021 08:24

Friend who's 42 in August finally got her text yesterday for the local hub. (She'd been trying on the national site but not eligible) Really pleased for her. She's a TA in a primary school that's had various outbreaks so been at risk throughout. I'm 50 so already had it

Synthesiser · 30/04/2021 08:26

East surrey

WaitinginWorcestershire · 30/04/2021 08:38

I got mine on my right arm since I'm left handed

lubeybooby · 30/04/2021 08:56

Thank you! I'm booked in (41 in June) yessss at last

it said I was 400th in the queue and it would take ten minutes but got me within one minute

EasterIssland · 30/04/2021 09:04

TokyoSushi · 30/04/2021 09:29

The number of people that have text me this morning saying 'Tokyo, do you know you can book your vaccine now?!' Er yes, if anybody knows, it's me! Bless them, so nice for people to think of you though!

No vaccine take up issues with your family and friends then😂

Obviously you have surrounded yourself with very sensible and caring people ❤

EasterIssland · 30/04/2021 09:36

@TokyoSushi do you know you can now book the vaccine?

A friend couldn't last night, today the closest he's offered is luton or Southampton, (this is from SW)

tulips27 · 30/04/2021 09:44

@EasterIsland I'm in the South West too, and my options were all far away. I think this could be tough for people with children, who work long hours or who use public transportation and probably other situations I haven't thought of, too.

TokyoSushi · 30/04/2021 09:45

I know!! Bless them! Literally nobody could know that the bookings are open more than me!! At least it's proof that I manage to keep my obsessive checking and crazy ramblings well hidden from general view!!

I'm going to the Ethiad, well Sport City or whatever they call it on Monday, I'm excited! I'll report back on DH later today, bet you're all on the edge of your seats!!

Marjoriesdoor · 30/04/2021 09:46

I went back onto the website this morning and it now recognises I have had my first and needed to book my second. I was able to book the same slot that I apparently cancelled last night so am v relieved. It’s still a good 30 miles away from where I live but it’s worth it.
It is nearly twenty four hours since I had my AZ vaccine yesterday and no side effects yet, not even a sore arm. Have felt completely normal since having it and I had to do a long drive straight afterwards so that is lucky really!

usernotfound0000 · 30/04/2021 10:09

Joining in now it is officially open to 40+. 1983 but still not eligible, fingers crossed it won't be long.

GailLondon · 30/04/2021 10:12

I'm 5 days too young for the cut off! come on.....

rainbowfairydust · 30/04/2021 10:21

How long do we think it will take for age 36? Wonder if they will open it up to 38 to 40 etc. A week at a time?

burtiebotts · 30/04/2021 10:26

I’m Jan 1982, waiting impatiently for my turn... so close now!

flowerycurtain · 30/04/2021 10:50

So excite. I'm 40 and booked this morning for Sunday. Only 30 miles to go. I'd happily have gone double that!
