So near but yet so far - waiting for the 40-41 release....

I’ve just had a text inviting me to book 😂

I was able to book a couple of weeks ago, but I only got places that were 50 or so miles away and I decided my risk of driving there and back and crashing was greater than my risk of actually catching COVID. I kept checking, but on Friday I had a text from local GP who said I could book with them.

I'm summer 83 so patiently waiting, my friend is 40 with no health issues and was invited by our GP last week for a vaccination which they've now received. Town just outside Exeter, Devon.

Come on 40-41 release - we are waiting so patiently!

If you've booked today did you get your confirmation through straight away ? I've screenshotted the reference numbers but I'd like the text/email too just to be sure !

OH (March 1980) received text and has booked in for both. Guy's vax centre #2

I'm feeling a bit less optimistic for us 1980's today, I woke up full of hope too!

I think 79/80 might be a few days (sorry!) because it sounds like a nightmare getting appointments in a lot of places already

I reckon THursday/Friday with perhaps the official announcement on Monday.

I think they probably assume the appointments get taken up quickly and then interest wanes

It does seem like there's supply issues in some places. Nothing in all of Suffolk and my dad's just had his second one moved to a later date and different location for next week!

I tried last night this morning and just now still not eligible book via vaccination Centre and gps is lost hope. I'm not hopeful it will be end may at this rate.

The lack of appointments is ridiculous. The system is trying to send us to Kendal or Berwick from north west Durham!

I don't understand why GP vaccination centres and other vaccinations centres would be closing at all with so many people left to vaccinate. And living in a rural area, many people here would not be able to travel a long way for a jab. It just doesn't make sense at all. It sends the message that the important people are done and everyone else is less important.

I had my second dose early because my centre is closing this week as it is a football ground and that ground is needed back. Many of the sites have been set up temporarily and now with more of society opening up and us moving towards some more normality - some of these locations will be needed for their primary purpose. I suspect that is the reason for locations closing.

That is clearly ridiculous! DH was sent to Durham from North Tyneside two weeks ago. Good luck, Florelei

honestly, there are no appointments in many places. I think it makes sense to wait until there are appointments for us lot before adding more people to the bunfight. I get that it's frustrating though .

I got my text this morning but not been able to book. The system is only offering sites 50 miles away. Frustrating.

I’ve just checked again for DBIL and loads of appointments have popped up at the nearby super hubs. It’s worth keep checking.

I booked yesterday afternoon and the confirmations only arrived this morning so I think there is a bit of a delay.

I'm now wondering whether to book and somehow get myself to one of the very far away places, or wait and hope that the page changes and they start offering slots at the one where I actually live... I'm worried it'll get even more booked up and I'll end up waiting longer

Late 1981 still waiting here. But pleased my very hesitant dad in his 70s has finally been vaccinated. He had Moderna earlier.
