Anyone in greater Manchester struggling to get an appointment, Bury has some.

Got text this morning and went on to book. Despite my GP’s surgery doing jabs and there being a big vaccination site on the edge of my town the website is trying to send me to a site in a city half an hour away. It then says the second jab would be at a separate location even further away. Then, the only available date it gives me is Bank Holiday Monday! I think I’ll try calling to see if I can get booked in at the site in my town.

I've spent the morning trying to book mine with no luck. It will let me select the first appointment but it won't give me anything for my second one. I called 119 they are aware of an issue and said just keep trying. However if I try on my phone it comes up with an error message stating I do not have permission.

I expect they're saying to wait for a text or call so the website doesn't get overloaded. They know the most keen will be ready to book as soon as it's released, but the general masses will wait until they're contacted.

I've been contacted by my GP , they're ahead of schedule! I can stop checking. They said only AZ is available across the whole country for first doses, obviously unless someone cannot have it for medical reasons.

Anyone been vaccinated in London in the last few days and can share where you went and which vaccine you were given?

We only ordered 20million pfizer so that's only 11 million people.

Our Pfizer order placed in 2020 was for 40 million.

We received 20 million by the end of March and are now consistently getting about 1 million extra doses per week.

DH just had moderna at the same place I had AZ yesterday. I think he's the first I know of!

I went to the centre at Heathrow yesterday, they were doing AZ

AstraZeneca at Guys Hospital today (just been done). So grateful to the posters who keep this longrunning thread going and made it possible for me to book yesterday. Thank you!

If it's a really bad post that needs editing or deleting you can report it to mnhq who will withdraw. Possibly edit? Not sure.

I've been trying and refreshing all morning but still haven't been able to book. I have had a first jab appointment a few times, but then no second appointments available and so I have to start again.

What are the secrets to getting past this? Yes, I should RTFT but I'm at work and just refreshing in the background!

Try a different device-I got nowhere refreshing but it worked on ipad instead of phone and laptop!

Any ideas why I ('85) got a text from my gp telling me to book? South Yorkshire if that makes any difference. No underlying health conditions that I know of.

@BunTooti your GP will be running ahead of the national vaccination programme. Congratulations! You will be vaccinated ahead of your peers elsewhere in the country. Have you tried to book?

@BunTooti there are 2 separate ways to be vaccinated, the national one (which we're all frantically trying to book) and GP lead. Your GP must have got to the 85s. I'm jealous as I live near you and my GP is very far behind!

Booked yesterday and had my jab this morning at Birmingham Edgbaston. Astra Zeneca. All very efficient but definitely much busier than it has been for other family members.

@Megan2018 thanks will try iPad after work. Using phone and laptop at the min.

Nearest centre is 55 minute drive away.

I know they are doing vaccination at my GP surgery 2 minute walk away. I don't want to ring to ask because they'll be inundated with calls.

I want to know whether to leave it and will GP contact me. 119 couldn't advise except to keep trying on NHS site.

Still none the wiser.
