So with the release of figures as of Friday 19th March over half the adult population of the UK have had at least 1 vaccination.

The number of jabs given is March was phenomenal and its likely numbers will be lower for the next few weeks but even if its "only" 100-200k a day thats still more lives potentially being saved!

For comparison, last week was 581,855 so the rate is holding pretty steady.

lurker101 · 25/03/2021 14:15

@DdraigGoch great figures. Second day in a row that NI second doses have eclipsed first doses and that means 7.2% of NI adults have had their second dose now!

Paddy1234 · 25/03/2021 14:15

Great figures again particularly the second doses

EasterIssland · 25/03/2021 14:32

amazing numero, and mazing 2nd doses!

Bordois · 25/03/2021 14:35

@CaveMum

Amazing graph from Israel where they now have approx 83% of the adult population having received at least one dose.
And yet we will still get those that say the vaccines aren't having an effect 😒

580,307 new vaccinations registered in Flag of United Kingdom yesterday

Fantastic!!!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/03/2021 15:31

We seem to be now booking people in their mid forties round here. Which means I have happy friends :)

Paddy1234 · 25/03/2021 15:52

Oooh where are you?

Boph · 25/03/2021 15:54

NHS England weekly stats are out

As of 21st March the following had received at least one vaccine dose, using NHS population figures:

95% of 80+

100% of 75-79
97% of 70-74
93% of 65-69
93% of 60-64
80% of 55-59
65% of 50-54
22% of 16-49

91% of shielders
75% of care home staff

Boph · 25/03/2021 15:56

75 to 79

Boph · 25/03/2021 15:56

Got my wrong way roundGrin

Bordois · 25/03/2021 16:39

Is that 22% of all 16-49 or just group 6

Sorry, that was a bit abrupt - scrolled up to check something and managed to hit post... 😳

Boph · 25/03/2021 16:42

I think it means 22% of all 16 to 49. Presumably a lot fall into group 4 and 6 plus health care staff.

lurker101 · 25/03/2021 16:45

Yes, plus care home workers, some essential workers I.e. council staff and those helping with the vaccine rollout. It’s a lovely figure to see, and these are people that are most likely to be “out and about” so any reduced transmission benefits are benefitting us all!

Bordois · 25/03/2021 16:47

Wow, if its all of them and not just group 6 (iirc that was 16-49 with certain conditions) then that's a lot more that I thought it would be.

Group 6, plus anyone involved in any form of health and social care (even a tradesman I know who was doing some contract work at a hospital), plus under 50s who have been started in some areas, plus those lucky enough to get a spare dose...
EasterIssland · 25/03/2021 20:06

Bringing it here in case someone was worried about Pfizer second doses. Eu has said that they’ve imported 20m pfizer by now. So that would be enough so far for 1st and 2nd doses which is good news as it’d not stop those getting theirs

Motorina · 25/03/2021 20:59

@EasterIssland - forgive me if I've missed it. We know the total numbers of vaccines given. Do we know the breakdown by vaccine type and, if so, where?

EasterIssland · 25/03/2021 21:01

@Motorina

This safety update report is based on detailed analysis of data up to 14 March 2021. At this date, an estimated 10.9 million first doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and 13.7 million doses of the Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine had been administered, and around 1.3 million second doses, mostly the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, had been administered.

Motorina · 25/03/2021 21:29

@EasterIssland thank you!

buttery81 · 25/03/2021 22:30

Thank you for sharing that @Boph! I can’t believe 22% of 16-49s have had the jab, that’s fantastic!

We need to work on getting the 50-59s and care home workers to over 90% take-up now.

Probably a silly question, but who does the shielders category apply to? Is that the 16-64s with underlying health conditions (of which there are 7.3 million I believe)? Does anyone know?

buttery81 · 25/03/2021 22:33

I’d like to see every single group in Boph’s post have a take-up of 90% or more. That would be a fantastic achievement.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 25/03/2021 22:38

Our welsh vaccination centre is leaving approx 5 weeks between dose one and two rather than 11-12 weeks that the gps are leaving here.
