Carrying on from the old thread:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4104964-Ocado-tips-tricks-subs-M-S-shortbread-giveaways-and-defectors

Give a vague area of where you live, or first part of postcode, and how much you pay for your smart pass. They seem to charge how much they think we will pay.

London, SE23 : £9.99 for an anytime pass. Customer for 10+ years.

I want to book a delivery for 2 weeks time while there are slots.

If I decide to book a smart pass before the delivery date (and bearing in mind I would amend my order by then) would the cost of delivery be taken off or would I be charged if I don't have the delivery slot when I first order?

ElderMillennial · 30/03/2021 20:29

I have a delivery coming tonight but it is the first in about a year (been getting Morrison's) so not 100% sure if I will be committing to a delivery pass but also don't want to pay for a smart pass and delivery!

Quarantino · 31/03/2021 08:47

Are they doing some kind of promotion with "little moons", which are ice cream/mochi balls?
On my laptop using the site at the weekend i clicked in the search box and the drop down list of suggestions appeared, with cheese, milk etc, but second was "little moons". I did search for it a bit later to see what it was, but didn't add it.
Then a random box of them appeared in my order! But usually you get a flyer or something telling you.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/04/2021 10:19

The smart pass saga continues. I was paying £10.99. Due to this thread I contacted them and they said it should be £8.99.

Again they’ve taken £10.99!! So I’m contacting them again...

They really hate me. Bastards.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/04/2021 10:53

Ok, I’ve got it worked out. I HAVE to continue playing £10.99 for my smart pass until my renewal time comes up. The £8.99 price won’t be applied to me until I sign up for another 12months.

I can’t cancel it because Ocado say they aren’t taking on new smart pass customers.

How convenient them!!

So they will carry on taking £10.99 even though they admit £8.99 is the most expensive pass they do. Bastards.

Fuss · 01/04/2021 10:59

A whole hour and a half early this morning, he did call to ask if that was ok but the only time they have ever been that far ahead was in lockdown last year.

Fuss · 01/04/2021 11:32

Just opened the Ocadolife mag this month and there is a small packet of wildflower seeds from the Wildlife Trust, so worth having the mag for this month!

ElderMillennial · 01/04/2021 11:44

@Fuss I didn't notice any seeds but I have got two copies for some reason so might check the other one!

Fuss · 01/04/2021 12:07

Very small green packet. It does say on the cover there are free seeds so you should have some. They were separate with all the leaflets that go straight in the bin normally 😂

I'm paying 9.99 - they said I have to pay 9.99 per month until the end of my contract but have given me a £5 refund in advance to cover the extra I'm paying over the "full price" until the end of my contract in June. Can't believe they're not offering this to everyone.
IsThisNameTaken · 01/04/2021 12:28

*August, not June

ElderMillennial · 01/04/2021 13:29

Fuss It seems the reason I have two mags is one is March and one is the April edition. I was sure they both said March!

So I opened the April one I found the seeds Smile

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/04/2021 13:57

@IsThisNameTaken@Quarantino

It is truly shit. Was half an hour in the phone. The call handler refused to see that I was being ripped off, he said I’d signed up to a 12 month contract. I thought the smart passes were 6 months.

Asked if I could change to midweek. No.

Took some time for him to admit the only way my smart pass would drop was in June and only because I’d start a new 12 month contract with them. He kept saying it would change in June because that’s when the new price structure started. But what he actually meant was that’s when my price was changing,

It’s totally crap.

I asked how many slots I’m allowed per month and it’s only one a week. No more. Never has been more apparently even pre-covid.

They are total shits.

I feel they have me over a barrel. I can’t cancel my smart pass until end of may.

I didn’t get my Christmas slot early. It was a cock up and I didn’t get any Christmas food because it was showing as out of stock.

For the past 5 deliveries I haven’t had any bread.

It’s rubbish. If anyone has any tips on how to negotiate with Ocado I’d be happy to hear them. Feeling very ripped off at the moment!

BentBastard · 01/04/2021 14:04

"I asked how many slots I’m allowed per month and it’s only one a week. No more. Never has been more apparently even pre-covid. "

Well this is nonsense (from Ocado) as the whole point of smart pass is as many "free" deliveries as you want/can get.

Quarantino · 01/04/2021 14:09

Yes that's bull - obviously it's dependent on demand and covid has changed things but pre-covid I could probably have gotten as many deliveries as I wanted.
I'm still paying 3.99 - I've never had a weekly shop with Ocado apart from the first two months of this year. Before covid it would be irregularly, like every 2-3 weeks, and other covid times I do fortnightly. I do like the ability to be able to book ahead though. I've had a smartpass for donkey's years, started off at 1.99 or something as a trial that kept getting renewed.
I don't even know how much normal delivery fees are if you don't have a pass, actually - with Sainsburys you can get £1 slots sometimes.

I'd say try the FB page but I was told 3 weeks ago they would get back to me in a day or two....

Personally though I'd post to their page, nothing seems to spur them into action than a good old public slating.

IsThisNameTaken · 01/04/2021 15:06

@DobbyTheHouseElk I've tried via FB and Twitter - unfortunately they refuse to discuss anything on there really and just ask you to DM them (allegedly so they can confirm your identity as a real customer and investigate the problem .... Hmm )

I've always found live Chat to be more effective than ringing them up - think they have the less experienced people on chat so tend to be more generous!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/04/2021 15:15

I’ve tried on FB they ask you to DM. I don’t “Twitter”.

I’ve done the chat option, but today it wouldn’t load so did spoke to actual live telephone human.

I’ll try chat again. See if I get anywhere. I knew they were lying to me. It was so frustrating. When I tackled them on it, they said I had a “different opinion to them”. I asked if I’d misunderstood the “anytime” word. But no, anytime means once a week, but anytime in that week.

I wonder if they have a complaints dept.

StanfordPines · 02/04/2021 08:37

My fresh yeast has been substituted for quick yeast. Bastards.

StanfordPines · 02/04/2021 08:43

I asked how many slots I’m allowed per month and it’s only one a week. No more. Never has been more apparently even pre-covid.

That is bollocks. I have two booked this week right now. Simple reason is that my friends and I haven’t decided which day we are meeting up so I’ve booked two identical deliveries and I’ll just cancel the one I don’t want.
I’ve often had more than one delivery a week.

MayIDestroyYou · 02/04/2021 08:58

(Namechanged from earlier in thread.)

I'm not pleased with the increase from £5.99 to £9.99 - but it's quite likely that two deliveries a month at times I wanted would come to that anyway.

At the moment my deliveries are running smoothly. I've adapted my expectations regarding what they stock, but I like having Ocado as a resource, just in case.

Squiffy01 · 02/04/2021 09:37

I was still pondering if I should renew this year and then got charged, got my months mixed up. £99.99 for the year so £8.33 a month. I was under the impression years ago when I signed up I was signing up to the set price as long as you never cancelled, clearly not the case. I’m SE London.

I seem to be back to being able to book slots every day which I find strange this happened a few weeks ago it changed from being able to book every three days and now I can book something even if I have a slot the day before. Not needed to though.

They have been quite good for me over the last year not sure if that’s because I was on the CEV list or cause I used to spend a lot (did a family shop and a work shop each week with them for quite a few years). I do miss a lot of waitrose products I find the M&S chopped toms terrible.

Just got my voucher through for £10 off wine or choc but of course all the chocolate I want is out of stock.
Haven’t had a free gift since they toneys choc which was delicious.

StanfordPines · 02/04/2021 09:46

I asked how many slots I’m allowed per month and it’s only one a week. No more. Never has been more apparently even pre-covid.

I just asked on Twitter and they said as many as you want.
I replied that Customer Service said it was one a week and I got no reply.

Fuss · 02/04/2021 10:22

Just checked and I can book any day I like outside of my Thursday reserved slot.
