Hi,

Was starting to feel a bit more positive - a bit lighter, but it sounds as though people are already behaving like we're out of lockdown, according to latest hotspot data.

I felt a difference earlier today when walking the dogs. I noticed there were bigger groups together, likely not the same household. I haven't seen this in such bulk for months.

Please someone tell me this is just a blip.

Random agreed
Have a vulnerable child going back to school. She won’t have had enough time to build up 3 weeks of antibodies but at least she’s 16 so she can have the jab.

I agree. I am sick of selfish people not following the rules. This is what led to the last lockdown.

It's really not

Of course it is. And it will be the reason we go into another lockdown if people start acting as if the virus has gone away, it hasn’t.

I think if you look into it instead of quoting the daily mail/Boris you'll find the majority of transmission is happening in care/work/ hospital/settings

People are mixing more outside in good weather. Outside. It's a good thing for their physical and mental health after a year of sacrifice (thinking of younger people particularly). Older people and ECV have had the vaccine. The majority of group 6 vulnerable will finish being vaccinated in the next 2 weeks.
Let's stop moaning about young people outside.

Because the British public cannot be trusted and takes the piss.

People get too carried away. Can you imagine what town centres will be like the week the restrictions are lifted in June? It'll be the last days in Rome and a large amount won't have had a vaccine.

Icannever · 28/02/2021 08:54

Sorry haven’t read the whole thread but around here it’s just large groups of older people out mixing. Younger people are mostly in their family groups still. On several walks recently it’s been hard to get past large groups of old people chatting on the pavements. I guess they all feel safe now they are vaccinated but it will make everyone else think “why bother”. It certainly makes me kids question why they have to follow rules.
At the same time I actually think outside is pretty safe and we should stop stressing about it so much. If there were less silly restrictions people might be more inclined to follow the important rules instead of giving up

Diana
The majority of group 6 vulnerable will finish being vaccinated in the next 2 weeks.
You are wrong. Many of the group 6 vulnerable will have had an appointment for their first jab in the next 2 weeks.
If you are vulnerable and aged 15 or under you are expected in school.

Zandathepanda · 28/02/2021 15:08

..without being vaccinated at all

And lockdowns are not dangerous to peoples health, causing suicides, mental health, cancelled appointment for other health issues, loneliness that can lead to stress, which in turn causes your immune system to not work as well, and the long list of affects it will have on children, Putting mothers and newborns at risk, because of limited interaction with health services......and much much much more not to mention the loss of business, jobs and damage to economy.....

I bet the tone will change greatly once furlough has ended, and the real damage is felt.
