Hi I had the Pfizer vacccine a couple of hours ago. My arm is aching a bit already, has anybody had any experience on the side effects and how long they last?

I had the Pfizer and apart from a sore heavy arm for about 4hrs I had nothing else.

LeslieYep · 20/02/2021 18:33

DM had this the other day. Painful arm and that's it.

Bexily · 20/02/2021 18:39

Fingers crossed then. Thank you

My arm hurt quite a lot for a day or two. I also had a headache the next day but nothing too bad.

sandycloud · 20/02/2021 18:44

I had mine a couple of weeks ago. Achy arm got a few days. I did wake up the first night shivering. I took paracetamol before bed too. Didn't feel ill though.

Mintjulia · 20/02/2021 18:46

DSister had an achey arm for 12 hours and generally felt a bit tired. She was fine the next day.

bluestarthread · 20/02/2021 18:49

I had Pfizer jab on Wednesday late afternoon. Arm ached by bedtime and the next day but nothing else and all fine now. DH had AZ jab a week before and had (man) flu symptoms for 36 hours.

foreverchangingmyname · 20/02/2021 18:53

I got mine yesterday, sore arm started last night and today I've just felt a bit rundown. Headache, achy, tired.
Tbh it's been a nice excuse to stay in bed!

Hi, I have had both doses of the vaccine, first one just achey arm and a little bit lethargic but all gone in 24hours. Just to pre warn, after the second dose I had a raging temperature, a severe headache, chills, my skin felt sore to the touch and I could not eat for 24hours. I really felt awful, the majority of my colleagues were the same. This is in no way to put anyone off, I am so grateful to have had it and would do it again in a heartbeat but just to warn than you may need a day of complete rest following your second dose.

temproasted · 20/02/2021 19:02

Had mine 3 weeks ago and DH last week - both fine just sore arm for a day or two

temproasted · 20/02/2021 19:03

Dugi- that's good to know so we can be prepared Smile

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 20/02/2021 19:06

Just a sore arm for about a week. I’ve also heard that the second vaccine makes you feel more ill.

bababra · 20/02/2021 19:07

Had mine wed woke up Thursday with fever, aches and very sore throat and sore arm. Have done much since then and zero appetite. No headache though

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/02/2021 19:08

AZ vaccine on Thursday. Slightly sore arm later that day. Felt very tired and similar to early stages of a cold that evening. Hot bath, early night, felt fine the next morning. Totally worth it.

Dee1975 · 20/02/2021 19:10

Arm was only sore when touched for a couple of days. Struggled to sleep on my side the first night. But Nothing else. So was quite lucky. DH had a very sore and heavy arm for a couple of days and felt a little ‘off’.

aLilNonnyMouse · 20/02/2021 19:12

Sore arm for about 2 days. Nothing really bad, just a bit achy when lifting it up high/carrying something. No other symptoms at all.

Weepingwillow22 · 20/02/2021 19:19

Just a sore arm. I also had mild covid a few weeks before so was worried I might get worse side effects but it was fine.

Tiredmum100 · 20/02/2021 19:26

I had a really sore arm for about 2 days, the first day was very sore, worse than the flu vac. The following day in the afternoon I had a temperature and slight headache.

I've got my second vaccination on Tuesday, I've got to go to work all next week (nurse). Fingers crossed it wont be too bad 🤞
WiseUpJanetWeiss · 20/02/2021 19:29

Sore arm that I couldn’t sleep on, chills and feeling generally rough for 36 hours. Then a miraculous recovery and my arm didn’t hurt at all even when I squeezed it. DH was more or less the same. Colleagues ranged between feeling a bit off to being absolutely fine.

We’re having our second dose on Friday, and if we weren’t we’d be booking some AL just in case.

Absolutely no regrets though.

x2boys · 20/02/2021 19:31

I also had the Pfizer injection a couple of hours ago ,so far so good, arms a bit sore but nothing else 🤞we are ok!

claracluck1978 · 20/02/2021 20:33

I had my Pfizer jab yesterday & have had no side effects, just an arm that is a bit tender when pressure is applied

DP had the same batch as me 20m after I had mine and has been v lethargic and under the weather today with a bit of a temp. Had we not been jabbed yesterday, today he said he felt ropey enough that he would have ordered a test. He seems to be improving over this evening though.

Absolutely bloody delighted to have been jabbed

Wobblysausage · 20/02/2021 20:40

I grew a tail

OliveTree75 · 20/02/2021 20:43

My DM had it yesterday. Just a sore arm. She said she feels like she is on top of the world Smile

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 20/02/2021 20:44

Nothing at all.
