I'm not clear from that thread (can't read the article) who you think is trying to scare vaccinated people.

justasking111 · 10/04/2021 15:37

The english are coming on Monday, no restaurants, pubs, cafes. Our council is only opening a few loos most of those you need a radar key to use. Gonna need to take potties, bottles, etc. in case you get caught short. It is the same chaos as last year. I do hope the shops that have loos will take pity on shoppers with weak bladders. My neighbour has a health condition which means he knows every available loo in the area in normal times. So he is still stuck at home until all loo facilities open again.

thesunwillout · 10/04/2021 15:48

When do you think hotels in Wales will open.
Are any opening next week.
Is there anywhere in Cardiff a traveller from England can stay, self catering perhaps? Looking at 26th week onwards.
Hotels are allowing bookings with many being refundable, but at the moment I'm not sure if they're asking for home addresses.

I hope in the next couple of weeks we hear something.

self catering open from Monday, check out booking.com, airbnb, sykes cottages. Everyone raring to go. The form filling for the owners has been unbelievable this year, the hoops they have had to jump through. Hotels are a problem, re catering so you will have to check them individually.

@justasking111

Thanks, is that for outside Wales visitors?

I really want to go to the Hilton tho 😆.
It's just me on a mercy trip. I need looking after for once!

Yes is for all, this weekend we have a lot of english visitors in town already, we had coach loads of overseas visitors last week. I saw elsewhere premier inn had worked through for business guests. I would phone the Hilton and check what is what.

thesunwillout · 10/04/2021 19:13

Ok thanks, good idea.
I'm in Devon so expecting the visitor onslaught from Monday, it's been fairly quiet here over Easter tho.

thesunwillout · 11/04/2021 08:36

Hilton opening to all visitors Monday 12th.

That’s short sighted of the council. We are coming on Monday for self catering break (booked before Covid and moved from last April). We’re allowed to come so why do councils insist on closing public loos and risk people urinating elsewhere.

Completely ridciulous and discriminatory against women (periods and can't just go behind a bush) and anyone with a health condition. Public authorities are supposed to weigh up decisions to make sure they are not discriminatory against those with protected characteristics.

poppycat10 · 11/04/2021 17:16

ridiculous

ArosGartref · 11/04/2021 17:54

Toilets need extra cleaning which councils can't afford to provide. It's a big concern, in my area at least, to see what services will simply disappear - presumably in the hope that residents will have adjusted to life without them during lockdown.

AlohaMolly · 11/04/2021 18:32

Our lovely little village had spots that were literally awash with piss and faeces - used tissues and nappies as well - because of this last time. I’m dreading it again. It’s one of the reasons I snapped up a plot on our allotment when it came up two weeks ago!

DdraigGoch · 11/04/2021 19:28

I don't get the connection between allotments and public toilets Confused

Wales is doing well with vaccinations - joint fifth in the world fully vaccinated.

Israel 🇮🇱 57%, Seychelles 🇸🇨 40%, Chile 🇨🇱 22%, Bahrain 🇧🇭 21%, USA 🇺🇸19%, Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 19%, Serbia 🇷🇸 17%, Malta 🇲🇹 14%, Hungary 🇭🇺 12%, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 11%, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 11%, Singapore 🇸🇬 9%, Turkey 🇹🇷 9%, Iceland 🇮🇸 8%, Switzerland🇨🇭7%, Denmark 🇩🇰 7%

Mamimawr · 11/04/2021 21:20

(not sure why the rest of the flags didn't appear!)

AlohaMolly · 11/04/2021 22:03

Allotment = somewhere nice and outside to go that won’t be overrun by tourists or loads of people that will inevitably need the toilet when there aren’t any available! Sorry I didn’t make that clear Blush

DdraigGoch · 11/04/2021 23:06

My geography teacher used to tell us about a friend's parent's caravan where the No.1 bucket would be emptied on the tomato plants. Best tomatoes he'd ever tasted, he said.

For anyone in Powys, reserve vaccination lists are open for 30-39 in some places and seem to be getting through the age groups even though the UK govt said no one in 40+ would get a jab this month.
DH and I are 46 and 47 and got vaccinated from being on the reserve list last week. My sister, in her 30s has received her letter for an appointment towards the end of the month, so things do seem to be moving here.

hellswelshy · 12/04/2021 08:57

I had my vaccination on the weekend, I'm 45, Torfaen area Smile

BestIsWest · 12/04/2021 09:16

Article here on Vaccine Reserve lists in Wales. Apologies for it being Wales Online.
Reserve lists

DS 23 has been able to put his name down for Swansea.

Haywire · 12/04/2021 09:18

Powys are flying through they have opened secondary reserve list for 18-29 and have done 84,000 first doses out of population of 130,000 odd. If you take out 25,000 under18's that leaves (very approx) 21,000 adults left to get some protection.

Will be interesting to see how busy it gets around here now travel restrictions have been relaxed from England or maybe it will be all going the other way to visit the pub!

We were in North Pembrokeshire/Ceredigion last week was very quiet compared to normal Easter hols. We had no issues with WC's all open as normal. Grin

Adesignforstrife · 12/04/2021 09:25

South Wales here and no problem with public facilities in the places I've been. Toilets seem to have re-opened in most places. I hope things improve elsewhere soon.
