I’m presuming Group 5 will probably get invites next week/beginning of w/c 8th Feb? I think NI has already started. (I hope it’s soon as my parents are in that group).

Aim is to get 1-4 done by 15th Feb. If they wait till 15 Feb to send out invites for group 5 then there would be at least a few days when vaccination take up is low.

GoldGreen · 31/01/2021 23:49

@SoledOut I’m presuming you are frontline health or social care? I asked about how they would vaccinate keyworkers in another thread (I’m public sector and highlighted gp/nhs would not have a clue probably) and everyone said they had got link to vaccinate through their employer.

Group 6 is a big group. 8 million sounds about right.

I'm group 6 too but I'm trying the be optimistic in that they've vaccinated 8 million in July (and that should only get faster as the big hubs have opened) so say last 2 weeks in Feb for group 5 (of whom a percentage will have been done as CEV in group 4) and then a month to get through group 6 so we should have had our vaccines by the end of march.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it Grin

*July?! JANUARY!

Maskedpotato · 31/01/2021 23:51

My 71 year old mom is booked in to have hers at Villa Park next week.

nivular · 31/01/2021 23:51

As of yesterday in my area (north Midlands) - they are on to group 5 - healthy 65-69 year olds.

nivular · 31/01/2021 23:53

www.nhs.uk/book-a-coronavirus-vaccination/enter-your-name

Here is the link for anyone who is eligible to book right now (officially groups 1-4).

Flowersinthewindowstill · 31/01/2021 23:53

My CEV friend has been vaccinated (in her 20s - Kent)

Maskedpotato · 31/01/2021 23:59

I'm either group 6 (unpaid carer) or just scraping in to group 9 and vaccine calculator estimates March and May for those groups.

ALoadOfGrief · 01/02/2021 00:04

NW
A few people I know have had invites in the last week:
72yo, 70yo and 69yo - none with underlying issues.

SquirtleSquad · 01/02/2021 00:05

Over 65s here now (south coast) but only at one of the clinics locally who were "ahead" according to their FB page.

vjg13 · 01/02/2021 08:26

In laws and some older people I know all rang their GPs and were offered appointments, despite everything saying not to ring! Definitely worth a call if you are in 1-4.

Sewsosew · 01/02/2021 08:32

Our GPs is just starting over 75s. We are in the NE and they have been struggling to get vaccinations.
DH is group 4, imagine it will be weeks before they get to him.

GoldGreen · 01/02/2021 08:37

@Sewsosew did you see this thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4151331-Everyone-over-70-in-England-can-now-book-themselves

If your DH is in book 4 he can book without his letter. You’ll have to go to one of the big vaccine centres.

Bagelsandbrie · 01/02/2021 08:38

Definitely try and book via the link in the post above mine. I am cev and that’s how I booked mine.
LivingMyBestLife2020 · 01/02/2021 08:39

Nottingham here and I’ve had mine as an ECV person

MadisonAvenue · 01/02/2021 08:40

I’m in Group 4. The local surgeries, including the one I’m registered with, have formed an alliance for vaccinations at the local hub but it seems that every surgery except for mine have booked in Group 4 patients.

If I don’t hear by the end of the day I’ll book via the link, the other centres aren’t local and as easily accessible though which is why I’ve held off over the weekend.

mdh2020 · 01/02/2021 08:47

65+ in this area. It depends on how many of each age group you have in your area.

Spring2021 · 01/02/2021 08:51

CEV but unable to book by the link above but then we don’t have a hub anywhere near us either. Still not heard about an appointment nor has 79 year old mum. Think it must also depend on whether you have a large hub relatively near you.

ListenLinda · 01/02/2021 08:54

My Grandmothers, 75+ and not CEV had their first doses on Friday & Saturday. West Yorkshire.
My mum (55) has also had hers three weeks ago, she is NHS though.

Sewsosew · 01/02/2021 08:56

Thanks.I tried but still said he’s not eligible yet. There does seem to be an issue with number of vaccinations where we live (I know my friends dad is over 75 and is also just booked in for his and his GPs commented how hard it’s been getting vaccines).
DH is under 50 but ECV, I will keep trying though!
I had friends in their 40s in other parts of the country who have had theirs with medical issues so it’s a bit frustrating.

marmitecake · 01/02/2021 08:56

I am group 6 and had mine yesterday. Am in Greater London.

Sewsosew · 01/02/2021 08:57

I think we are 50 miles from a big vaccination centre anyway.

Sunnysausage · 01/02/2021 08:58

All a couple of weeks ago now, but my 83 yo mother waited and waited, not wanting to bother anyone. I did manage to get her to call the surgery and they told her that she was on the list and not to call back and they’d contact her when they had more vaccine. I called a couple of days later and was told they had had incorrect contact details for her, and they would be now be in touch. She called back a week later and someone else told her that they’d offered her an appointment in early Jan, she hadn’t turned up, so they had her down as refusing the vaccine Shock. Was finally done a week ago when we sorted out the mess.
So it is always worth calling if your group is in process and you haven’t heard anything... (We hadn’t heard about the link at that point, and I don’t think her second jab is booked yet Confused)

Flossie44 · 01/02/2021 09:22

Marmitecake- that’s amazing!! It that standard in your area now?? Group 6?
