I am beyond broken if this means we can't get to any kind of normality.

The WHO can piss right off, we've got one of the worst death rates in the world. For once we've got something right, we need to protect ourselves.

marbellamarc · 30/01/2021 17:20

Also why does every thread need someone chipping in about weight ffs

Some weird power trip.

Musicaldilemma · 30/01/2021 17:20

It doesn’t matter what we do. It matters what the US does as they have the vaccines. I just started another thread as they are proposing to vaccinate their children (tests have started). Biden is a democrat, but because he is new and they have a huge outbreak (100,000 deaths in January alone) they are going to go ahead with vaccinating their whole population. Because Trump messed up Biden is going to have to do his own population first.

BeautifulStar · 30/01/2021 17:20

I can see both sides. If I was offered the vaccine but could choose to send it to a vulnerable child in Africa I would obviously send it to the child. But then it seems silly to halt our progress and potentially go backwards when we don’t even know the parameters for people getting it in other countries.
If I was offered the vaccine but told I could choose for it to be sent to another country without knowing who would get it would I still decline? I’m not sure...

Perfect28 · 30/01/2021 17:20

@marbellamarc
What do I think of Israel? Lol that could fill a whole thread.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 30/01/2021 17:20

The WHO can sod off.

If they did their job properly we wouldn't be here.

Dickorydockwhatthe · 30/01/2021 17:21

How about the people who are vulnerable because they cannot work from home and in school environments where they have no PPE.

trulydelicious · 30/01/2021 17:21

And while we are at it, the WHO and their cronies should stop pushing their globalist world control agenda!

whenwillthemadnessend · 30/01/2021 17:21

I know of a 27 yo woman who died of cancer she waited too long for to be treated so it's not just covid

Get the vaccine out as planned.

marbellamarc · 30/01/2021 17:21

Ps listen to Taiwan next time

True dat

Ericaequites · 30/01/2021 17:21

In the United States, there has been very little vaccination of children. The vaccines are not cleared for use in under sixteens.
As an American, I want all children in school all day as a priority. Restaurants, bars, and non essential shops should close before schools.

HettieMills · 30/01/2021 17:22

If they did their job properly we wouldn't be here

There is some truth to this. Doubt the government will take their advice on this one anyway. It would be political suicide if they did.

Dickorydockwhatthe · 30/01/2021 17:22

@Squiffany

In an emergency we’re always told to look after ourselves first before going to help others.

ie putting your oxygen mask on first before helping your child on an airplane.

Exactly this. Let's get ourselves sorted so then we can offer help else where.
marbellamarc · 30/01/2021 17:23

I know of a 27 yo woman who died of cancer she waited too long for to be treated so it's not just covid

That's so sad. One of my neighbours is having a op on her brain next week. Having to do it private but she is lucky she can afford it. Waiting for the NHS significantly reduce her chances of the op working.

FTMF30 · 30/01/2021 17:23

@marbellamarc

There are steps some can take to help themselves.

I just don't think you need to tell an obese person to lose weight & not just rely on the vaccine. But you do you

I agree. Some people resign themselves to victimhood and helplessness, wanting help from others whilst taking no steps to help themselves. Lost causes.
marbellamarc · 30/01/2021 17:24

What do I think of Israel? Lol that could fill a whole thread.

Enlighten us?

trulydelicious · 30/01/2021 17:24

@marbellamarc

What do you think of Israel

I understand Israel traded doses for patients' (anonimised) data - so a different deal to most countries. I'm not sure I would have found this acceptable here, but each to their own

marbellamarc · 30/01/2021 17:25

I agree

So why say it then?

Some people resign themselves to victimhood and helplessness, wanting help from others whilst taking no steps to help themselves. Lost causes

🙄

MintyCedric · 30/01/2021 17:25

If I was at risk of a deadly disease, I would want to do everything in my power to try and save myself from it. In this case, it would be trying to lose weight.

Excellent. Well if you could pop along to my place and talk some sense into my knackered thyroid gland, that would be great Hmm

marbellamarc · 30/01/2021 17:25

yes @trulydelicious I believe so but I wondered if that made them selfish, etc etc

IndiaMay · 30/01/2021 17:26

@FTMF30 well ok, not the entire adult population but this indicates to me that perhaps we wouldnt be able to return to normal until at least all off the rollout had been completed

WHO urges Britain to pause covid jabs after treating the vulnerable
Doomsdayiscoming · 30/01/2021 17:26

No way! I’ve eaten unhealthily my whole life, smoked 40 a day, and lick supermarket trolleys on a daily basis.

I’ll be having my vaccine first thank you very much, because my country sensibly prioritised buying up all the vaccine supplies whilst simultaneously allowing 120,000 to die so that when said vaccines were produced we’d be in a terrible position and need to vaccinate our whole country. Absolute genius move. God save Supreme Leader Johnson - I’ll be voting Tory until the day I die.

marbellamarc · 30/01/2021 17:26

@MintyCedric don't rise to it.

m0therofdragons · 30/01/2021 17:26

We haven’t listened to WHO re vaccine split between first and second doses so I doubt we will now.

trulydelicious · 30/01/2021 17:31

@meditrina

Not, the WHO did not single out Britain

The title of this 'article' by the biased Guardian clearly says Britain on the title. They should keep their beak out out of this
