I live in one of the most "behind" areas for covid vaccination - I am waiting for dh to have his vaccination as he is in one of the vulnerable age groups & has health issues. A friend in a county nearby has had their vaccine - in her 60's & as far as I know no health problems. I am not jealous just concerned for dh

Have just tried to book via the NHS site and it wouldn't let me. (I'm CEV, and in the NE)

Twistered · 31/01/2021 16:04

@JulesJules

I think if you are cev then your GP will call you

MinesaBottle · 31/01/2021 16:08

Mum is 78, in NW Wales and CV, still hasn’t heard anything. Her friend who’s 80 and in remission from cancer just got his letter yesterday! She thinks it’ll be mid/late Feb. Wales and especially North Wales seems a bit behind.

itsgettingweird · 31/01/2021 17:02

@MiddlesexGirl

Over 70s. And some school staff seem to be called in for the short notice ones Hmm
Why the raised eyebrows.

Special school staff have been classes as under health and social care in most laws because they are open FT for children with education health and care plans to deliver health and care too.

FuzzyPuffling · 31/01/2021 17:05

Over 75.
Only vaccinating at the weekends. Next weekend starting on the CEV group.

FuzzyPuffling · 31/01/2021 17:07

Sorry - north Cornwall.

delilahbucket · 31/01/2021 17:08

Early 70's and ECV. My 89 year old neighbour had his a week before Christmas. My ECV friend had hers yesterday and my 72 year old dad is in next week.

mightyducks · 31/01/2021 19:41

My Mum just had he’s on Friday, she’s 69, not ECV or CV

MinesaBottle · 03/02/2021 19:24

Mum (78) has had a call from the surgery today, she’s getting hers next Friday. Her friend who is a frequent flyer at the surgery and a massive hypochondriac is after her in the alphabet so has to wait a few extra days and apparently she’s not happy!!

Bilgepumper · 03/02/2021 19:54

@QuantumQuality

No areas should be doing 65-70 year olds unless they are CEV. There is very clear national policy on this.
Yes but what if they have vaccine and staff? Are they just supposed to sit twiddling their thumbs. It makes far more sense to crack on.
Cornishmaiden · 03/02/2021 19:59

South East Cornwall. Had mine today CEV but only received text to book online yesterday. Seem to be quick here as my mum who is 82 had hers 10 days ago.

MRex · 03/02/2021 20:03

@QuantumQuality - our area says they are starting 65+ this Friday, so that may be moving along very soon. It's reasonable to presume that some areas might have overlap where they have a 195 vial Pfizer pack of 5-6 doses per vial and say 800 70+ / CEV. They would then be expected to fill remaining slots with the next group down.

JulesJules · 03/02/2021 20:05

I had mine this morning, booked it online yesterday. Got back from the vaccination centre to find that my letter had arrived and the GPs had called too. Second dose in 11 weeks.

RagzReturnsRebooted · 03/02/2021 20:06

70+ and CEV, so group 4.

Of course they should if they have done the previous group and have had vaccines delivered.....why wouldn’t they?
sothisisit2021 · 04/02/2021 11:54

Over 65s here

tactum · 04/02/2021 12:06

I'm having mine this week - classed as CEV, although I don't think I actually am (tried to get taken off list last year but they refused) - I'm only early 50s. Midlands. Date for second one end of April, having AZ

QuantumQuality · 04/02/2021 13:56

That comment was posted a week ago, the situation has changed somewhat. But whole areas of the country had their vaccine allocation reduced to ensure that there weren’t 65 year olds getting the vaccine before 80 year olds.

MRex · 04/02/2021 13:58

Sorry, I missed the age of the comment. Nice that things are moving so quickly that comments can get out of date within.a week!
